I have this one. Can be had with various connectors and it also has a regular power outlet so you can use whatever cable you want. It has a regular 1/4" screw to mount on a regular cage, arm, what have you. It can also be bought with clamps. I you zoom in on the left side on the eBay picture you se the second outlet which is a standard power outlet. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blackmagic-BMCC-Camera-Battery-Mount-Plate-Power-Supply-Adapter-For-Sony-BP-U60-/370877762077?pt=UK_Camera_Battery_Grips&hash=item565a098a1d

Yeah Im also pleasantly surprised. I didn't know what to think in the beginning but when it got so much hate online I got interested. Mostly because when a big company with experts does something that the brain trust online doesn't like, it usually means they have thought in a new direction. No aliasing so far for me.

Quick run through of all the picture profiles in the Canon XC10 and also a DR shootout against a 5Dii with ML Raw and the BMPC4K. DR looks good imo. In the DR comparison I exposed all three a hair from zebra. Adjusted lift, gamma, gain. In the first set of picture profiles I adjusted lift, gamma, gain and added saturation to the C-Log. Second set is straight from camera, untouched. All ETTR.

I can clarify how I do it just for the heck of it. On 5D Click ISO, Scroll to new iso, Click iso. On xc10 Double click fn, Scroll to new iso (using the same fn stick), Double click Menu. So on both cameras you can change the iso using one finger that always sits close to the two controls needed. Loupe doesn't get in the way either.

Compared to the 5dmkii it's the same amount of buttons and actions to change the iso. And its much easier than on a bmpcc or D16 type of camera so no biggy imo.

Some frames from a Dynamic Range Test against the 5Dmkii shooting Raw and the Blackmagic 4K also in Raw. Same aperture and same correction. Adjusted contrast to the waveform and lifted the mids 0.3. All exposed to the right a hair under zebra. So no, not scientific at all. Mostly just a guide for myself. Sun is just about to set. 5D BMPC4K XC10 Also here is a XC10 frame in one of the standard picture settings during sundown. No corrections done.

Im a total Mac-Dude by heart but bought a cheap "Gaming Laptop" to properly try out Resolve without making the investment on for example the Mac Pro. But since Im starting to like it I might start saving up...

Its working really fine with the c-log. At first I had some trouble that carried on from Resolve 11. Audio wouldn't show up from A7ii S-Log or C-log. The weird thing was I could hear it in the media pool but not on the timeline. But with Beta v2 it all got sorted. Now I can import, edit, grade and export and it all runs more or less real time in 4K. The one issue I have is wanting to export 4K/UHD in h.264. I haven't tried with my full version of R12 yet, but in the free version I export an Uncompressed 8bit and then use Hand Break to convert to h.264. Hoping to get rid of that step. As far as grading goes Im trying to learn both Resolve and C-Log. But it gets better every time. The keying is awesome. I will for sure. I also find the built in to be in the upper class of small built in mics. Comparing to a DSLR or BMD, as far as camcorders go I would say in the middle. Will post results of mic tests soon.

Can you upload a couple od seconds of flat picture and we can all have a go at it? Im no colorist but others here can probably make it shine.

Got some fun stuff in the mail today. Among other things a new on camera mic for ambient sound. Will be fun to test it out on the XC10 and other cameras. Besides the good price to performance and features the form factor was a deciding factor. I like using my "EVF" flipped up so it couldn't protrude backwards to much. I also took the opportunity to test the XC10 as a camera for product reviews/demos. The reach and parfocal lens is a nice feature for it. A bit limiting with a small sensor for that type of video but totally usable.

That was a sweet short! love it. Audio was nice, love me some good foley.

Are you watching on a 60hz monitor? Most of my monitors can switch back and forth but one of them at work is stuck in NTSC and does that to all my 25p videos.

Sony RX10 II Footage w/ Unobtrusive Background Audio

How do you know it has no meaning? Where you there? How do you know it wasn't a learning experience? How do you know it wasn't shots that captures and rememinds the shooter of the best summer ever? How do you know that place doesn't hold sentimental value to the shooter? Why do you care? If you do, why not ask? -
thats awesome, will have a look, thanks

Its better than a DSLR, that much I have tested. But how much better remains. I can do a audio comparison to the 5D and an ENG camera this week perhaps. I like the video a lot. Love the "organic" (in lack of a better word) look and feel. Do you mind telling me the settings and post process? /M

I haven't gone above iso4000, still summer night light here but I will test to get a feel for the limitation. Thanks for the heads up. Resolve 12 can import and edit straight from the camera so no convertion for me. PP worked as well. Yeah the stills isn't super. But they are good for WebContent like an article with video and a few pics. I use it mostly for instagram using the webbrowser for transfer. Audio is my next thing to test properly, I can post my findings.

hey, When I shot this the eycup was good enough for the brightness, no problem there. But it does get a bit warm having it glued to your face so I have a great reason to try a fabric eycup I was sent to review. I will keep you posted. The grip is nice. I have very long fingers (piano hands) But don't feel I have to place them anywhere particular. I just hold it. I love beeing able to tilt the handgrip a bit forward. That way it doesn't feel weird like a DSLR does when holding it the way one normally does for video.

Went to a race track. Only had about two hours, no tripod, no credentials to get closer to the track or a decent microphone. But I still wanted some video from it. Thank god for the camcorder Would be really fun to bring a good mic next time, get credentials and do some reporting as well. Simply didn't have the time for preparation or at the track. Oh well maybe by winter I have time for my hobby again

I think I would rather shoot HD

Version 2 of the Beta is out, just reinstalled and all my audio issues went away Now there are 0 reasons for me to keep CC.

If you're not using the mk3 it's costing you money. Every day you loose cash in depreciation. So sell it today, and if you change your mind in six months you can buy it again for less money. So no matter what, selling it will be a win from an economical stand point.

This is the type of place a camcorder really shines

my advice is to never buy such a card. If it fails on you the whole day is gone. 30min is about maximum I want on any media. Spread the eggs. -

I've owned a total of 8 BM cameras. Zero issues. No hiccups. Worked every time. And not only have they worked like advertised, they have been improved via Firmware. And I dont mean bug fixes, I mean real useful features added. So if I wanted or needed an Ursa Mini I would have no problems pre-ordering. Also Im having a realy tough time not jumping on the brand new URSA 4k in an unbroken box that goes for $3200 on a classified here
