Yeah I agree. I commented on the video but haven't checked if he answered. I was think maybe he labeled them wrong or something because he says its a quality loss in the crop but my eyes see it as more detailed. -

My guess is the fringing is lens dependent. Some of my non L Canon glass fringe like crazy. It can definitely be a PITA sometimes. True that. One thing that still gets me very exited about the R every time I think about it is, all this good stuff we are talking about + built in variable ND. That is going to be so freaking useful. I loved it on my Sony A7ii and NX1 with fotodiox but hated removing it every time I didn't wanted it or needed AF. -
Cool! I'm sure everyone one has already seen this, but they are definitely worth repeating.

Guys, @shooter and @greenscreen are obviously trolls in this thread. Andrew recently did a post about companies sending in people to the forum, it definitely could be these two he means. I suggest not feediing them for a while and we will see what happens.Bots and paid trolls are usually an impatient bunch.

Yup, I use it all the time with a docu style camera movent for shorts at work. B-roll, pans, tilts, standing interviews, you name it. The IQ drops a little but it is still webb worthy imo. This is why Im happy with just a minor improvement in the EOS-Rs HD. 28/1.8 is my goto lens but the digital IS definitely works ok for 50mm as well. And only use mode 1 btw. Cool, looking forward to it. Personally Im still waiting on mine. At least 10 stores within driving distance have had it in stock all week. But not the one where I bought it Im fighting the urge to go "screw the 15% sale, Im buying one at full price just to not have to wait!". But I can probably hold out a few more days -
I understood it as the Fuji version having the latest glass as well as Sony and MFT versions from here on. Yes, I also love a bit of swirl

I hope you are right. And I hope they don't follow Sony exactly because the A7xii ibis certainly didn't compete with IS imo. -
I got a message from Kipon that had seen my review of the EF to Fuji auto focus speedbooster. He informed me that it is a gen 2 glass in it so any older optical experiences from Baveyes might not apply. Just thought I share the info.

Ive handheld 150mm with Canon IS and thought it was very steady. That floaty look from dual ibis on Panasonic is not very pleasing imo. But we all have different preferences of course. I for example genuinely dislike the look of gimbals. And just to clarify, I want them to implement ibis as much as you guys. I was just giving my reason to why I think you will have to keep dreaming for a while -

I suspect Canon might keep on skipping IBIS since their lens IS is mostly good enough (at least imo). And I happily use the digital IS for non-narrative stuff. It gets the job done. On another note. This guys camera seems to have crashed. Bummer. (Watch the beginning and then skip to the end for the camera stuff.) -
Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p

Evertime Fro does an AF test and records the viewfinder he gets 1000 comments saying that it jeopardized the test. So I can understand why one chooses not to even if it didn't slow down the AF. -
Beacuse then you limit all your clips to slowmo only. If you want some realtime or do a warp it will look like a porly made stop motion.

Why the GH5 is better than the Pocket4k. Argue here
Mattias Burling replied to A_Urquhart's topic in Cameras
No but it is a stills camera. Otherwise putting a mechanical shutter in it would be a huge over kill. Its also shaped pretty much as a stills camera (But I get what you mean and kinda agree. Panasonic realized that they have hard time competing in the pro stills arena.) -

There is no viewfinder with video on the 6D. And not really on the EOS-R either. Its just an EVF aka "Pretend viewfinder". Essentially a tiny version of the back LCD cramed into a hole. Its a loupe replacement more than a viewfinder replacement -
Super cute!

Jitters basically. And once or twice it has gone absolutely bonkers.

That just means that you dont get it or proves my point. That camera kicks your GH5s in the ass all day long, as a kids camera imo. I would never buy a GH5s to a four-year old child. That camera is much better for that imo. Same way I think mounting a GH5s under a skateboard is pretty stupid. Or try to shoot the next Star Wars on a Gopro. Or use a s35mm film camera as a surveillance camera. The "best" camera doesn't exist. Fact

I had the Crain and then Crain-M. I now have a Moza Air. I don't use gimbals all that much so it could definitely be user error. But the Moza have given me much more mixed results than the two others.
-
100% fact. Can't be said enough.

Loved the GH3. Skipped the GH4 because of "meh". Skipped the GH5 because of stills and the G9 looks tastier. But maybe the GH6 could be my gateway back to the GH line. After all I love Panasonic, shooting with one today and its the most used brand on my YT. (For pro work I never touch them though.) BMD is a totally different beast all together.
-
Yes you understood correctly. it was a fire sale. The same store had $1k of on the GH5 all of September. I mentioned it many times in for example the GH5 thread so people could have a chance to get one. Its trickier with the fire sales since they are so short. Either limited numbers or time. Sometimes just hours ("tonight only").
-
Cyberphoto had a fire sale. They do that from time to time. I have an email alert for it. Actually thought about it for a while but passed. To many cameras to try.

I asked this fellow to make a AF comparison between the 6Dmkii and the EOS-R, and he did. Haven't watched it myself yet (waiting for the coffee to get done). Should be interesting. EDIT: lol, just saw the frenchie The results weren't shocking since AF wise all mirrorless still gets its ass handed to it by DSLRs. But compared to my personal experience of adapting EF to Fuji, Panasonic, Sony and JVC it was actually pretty impressive. -
Last week the GH5s was on sale and cost less than the P4K. But still.. dont think I would pick the Panasonic over the BMD if it was for video only. The GH5/G9 maybe since they are both cheaper as well and have IBIS. Imo it still apples to oranges. Hybrid vs Cinema Camera. One shouldn't end up having to pick between them. To me that sounds like its time to take a step back and evaluate exactly what it is one needs.
