  1. Agreed, Canon does not push limits. And they don't have the ambition to do so either. They have said many times that being first isn't a priority (even though they where first with 4K and 4K 60p). And thats why pros like them so much. They can walk into a store and pick up a new model and go straight to work the very same day. It won't have as many features as the Sony next to it, but it will be a solid performer. Same, lenses, same batteries, etc is also a plus. In forums like these Canons "new features" are often swiped under the rug because they aren't big words like 10-bit or no crop 4K. Sometimes Ive even seen really nice features, that affect the shooter every single day, flat out laughed at. But the pros that really benefit from the features aren't laughing at all. As an example, in the EOS-R I will eledgedly be able to press the video record button in stills mode and it will record with my predetermined video settings. That doesn't sound as sexy as 10-bit FF. But to me, that switch between my video and photo settings maybe 20 times every 30 min on a shoot.. its a big deal. (And there is also the huge selection of affordable native and third party glass.)
  2. Using a Canon for pro work isn't always about specs like that. If I shot nothing but pro sports all day long there is literally zero chance that I would ever get any of the mirrorless options. Nikon can put 30fps in it, still won't matter. Sports is still a DSLR game. For my professional hybrid shooting (portraits, product, documentary, sports, video) the 6Dmkii is currently the "best" option for me. Thats the camera it is going to replace. And then 5fps is business as usual for me and nothing that bothers me. The positives still outweighs it not have the latest and greatest numbers printed on the box.
  3. After you have yelled at Canon for not releasing beta test cameras ( ) would you mind asking them if they feel confident with supply to preorders or if there will be a delay like Nikon? Newley released Sony, Panasonic and Fuji cameras are usually available on shelves from day one here. But Canon might be a different story.
  4. EDIT: And apparently with the sensor from the Pentax KP.. which is a fantastic sensor in my experience.
  5. @Yurolov Yeah it probably will be very popular. Canon has quite the strong hold here and I suspect it has it in other places as well.
  6. In the shootout the result was that any camera can be made to look great. Its just a whole lot more money and work to get the GH2 to match the Arri. Listen when they list how many lights they had to use. $$$$$.
  7. The Leica used to include a free full version of Lightroom. And since Adobe pulled the plug it now includes 3 free months. So there is at least a little more value than just the design. (BTW, I hate that the support by Adobe for Lightroom has ended. Now I have to include the price of a subscription when buying a late 2018 or newer camera. Unless its a true Leica, Sigma or Pentax which of course shoots DNGs.)
  8. The drama surrounding this camera is almost surreal I sent in my trade in camera yesterday. No idea where in line I am for the EOS-R but probably way back. Maybe all the internet drama have shortened it a bit..
  9. Both Panasonic's are already available for preorder.. but its a bit hasty for me The GRiii was different, its just an upgrade of a camera I already love, a no brainer. The Panys are a bit to mysterious as of now.
  10. Many of the older has more accurate MF. The WRs can drift.
  11. And.... This! https://www.l-rumors.com/kazuto-yamaki-confirms-sigma-is-going-to-make-a-full-frame-l-mount-camera-with-foveon-sensor/
  12. Thank God they did what they did with the screen instead of a fully articulating turd
  13. Tasty stuff! If the IBIS is anything like Panasonics current it will be a handheld video beast. And I kinda like that its a few months away so I get to evaluate my X-H1 and preordered EOS-R up until its released. If nothing else this will make buying a used SL more justified with a broader and lower priced line of lenses. This is shaping up to be a good year at Photokina. That new m4/3 zoom looks cool as well. Not to mention that the "King of the Street" aka The Ricoh GRii got a development announcement of the GRiii. The later is an instant buy for me, wont even look at the final announcement, just preorder
  14. Press release for the new alliance leaked. Can't believe this is actually happening. Two of my favorite brands joins forces with the most affordable, this could become special https://www.43rumors.com/press-release-for-new-leica-panasonic-and-sigma-l-mount-alliance-leaked/
  15. Well, its out soon and we can start to get some user reviews. Ive only watched Caleb and Fros previews. After that I've stopped looking. Including the one above, won't watch it. I don't want my opinion to be primed before testing it myself. Tomorrow is Panasonics press conference after which I will know if I will order the EOS-R.
  16. Imo buying a 24-70/4 for a FF makes more sense than buying a totally different camera just for that focal range. Kinda diminish the point of an interchangeable lens camera.
  17. I've been looking around the spec at Canons website but I can't seem to find a definite answer if it has Canons digital IS. Does anyone know for sure if its there or not? EDIT: Found it, its on there! After coming up with nothing on Google I did what had to be done... I RTFM
  18. I just received the tracking info on my EF-Fuji Auto focus Speedbooster. And as I suspected ebay was a bit optimistic with the expected delivery date. Now it looks like Friday but possibly not until monday.. the suspense is killing me
  19. Upscaling to 1440p or 4K helps a lot with the HD quality. It can't do any miracles but definitely try it.
  20. And on for example EF glass the zoom rocker can control the focus. Very nifty.
  21. Exactly. I like the additional info I get on the top display on the X-H1, battery, card space, format, etc. But its not as critical on a fuji since iso, shutter and aperture is there anyway. Agreed on the grip as well. Ive switched from a X-T2 to X-Pro2/X-E3 two times due to the gripe. Good to see that the new battery grip takes care of the "issue".
  22. I don't agree with you on that. Ive used both the X-T2 and X-Pro2 professionally from portraits to sports arenas. It was totally fine. So I don't see why a pro can't use an X-T3.
  23. A top display is pretty much a must for most pro photographers. One can live without it but its a pita. But on the Fuji X-T3 I dont agree that its such a big deal that the camera becomes irrelevant. Thats sounds like quite an exaggeration imo. Because with Fujis manual controls you can still see and adjust the settings without it.
  24. Being able to snag a cheap X-H1 is definitely my favorite part of the X-T3 being released And what it might mean for the X-H2.
