If the digital stabilization of the NX1 is good enough for you then you are in luck. All blackmagic cameras have it. Only caveat is that you have to apply it in post.
-
Battery and as some observant fellow on dpreview pointed out, it's only two card slots. If both cards fail you'r screwed.
-
Not surprised. The day a mirrorless gets faster AF than a DSLR in all lighting conditions it would be all over the news.
-
Since it seems to be what most people want I just figured I would follow suit.

I wonder what Sony are going to do now when they are left in the dust? The A7siii better bring out the big guns.
-
Look at this noob in his "Everything is awesome bubble". Making movies and winning awards with the gear he likes and using it within its limitations. Just imagine how many cool forum thread arguments he has missed over the years.

I dont think anyone is saying that dual card slots isnt a nice feature. So is 4K. But none of them is an end all feature for every type of shooter. Take for instance the Sony A7s. If someone really wants a lowlight monster in that price range they might be willing to accept it just having one. Calling it unusable is just silly.
-
Lol, exactly. In some cameras dual card slots is great, like an airbag. In others it will rip your head off

Ok now I have changed my mind. I'm with you. 95% of all cameras (that's counting extremely low btw) is now unusable. I have seen the light at the end of the marketing hype tunnel. First order of business, trashing my Panasonic and my Smartphone, one card slot = unusable.
-
I still don't see why people hate the EOS-R and Nikon Z6. Like all cameras they offer things that no other camera does. So if one value those things it's a good buy. And like all cameras there are deal breakers. So if those will be too much of an issue it's a good bye. And I love how dual card slots is now the new 4K All over the internet people and reviewers are actually claiming that 95% of all the cameras ever used through history where in fact unusable. Who knew, lol. It's just like when people say "it has 4K" like its some instant stamp of approval.

Its the same as the Production camera and if I remember correctly my Red. Raw is always what the sensor gives you uncompressed (or lossless). So to be able to give you 1080p it has to cut that out for you. Or give it to you downsampled (prores). The good part is that BMDs in body downsample is better than what for example Adobe gives you in post. Thats one of the reasons why 4K isn't always sharper and clearer on youtube than HD. There is HD and HD as well as 4K and 4K. So even if you don't get raw 1080p I suspect you will get one helluva HD file.

I wonder what it will be. C2K, fingers crossed. https://www.43rumors.com/ft4-g9-gh5-gh5s-firmware-update-to-be-announced-at-photokina/

I cant go but would highly appreciate if one of you would head over to Ricoh/Pentax and check it out. It looks very likely that the Master of Street Photography is getting a successor. And if you see a rep, ask if they can implement recalling of custom settings with a fn button instead of toggling the mode dial. https://pentaxrumors.com/2018/09/03/grmany-meet-greet-photokina-event-on-september-29-2018/

Speaking of Mountainbike videos, Olympus and possible lenses for a BMPCC4K or other m4/3.
-
I think I will. Its been a while since I covered a m4/3. (There is currently a $550 off on the GH5 as well, which of course is tempting to someone that loved the GH3 but skipped the GH4.)
-
The XT3 have definitely pushed the prices of the XH1 down already. I came so close to buying one with an EF speedbooster yesterday. I had both in the shopping cart ready to go. Luckily I managed to control the urge. Because I believe it will drop even more if the new GF is announced. So I'm playing it cool. My GAS is temporarily cured by the G80/85 that came yesterday. Quite a nice camera, awesome button layout.

And of course Kodak film is still available and growing after the Hollywood bailout.

Canon EOS R full frame mirrorless talk hots up
Mattias Burling replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
At 3:50, awesome feature. Starts recording video with predetermined settings even if you are in stills mode. Love that! Anybody know if for example the GH5 has that (started eying a gh5 after ordering a g85)? 9:20 if true, need to test it myself, it might seal the deal for me. -
Its a dude thing. What ever dudes are extra interested and nerdy about will show the same phenomenon. Cameras, watches, video games, guns, cars, beer and other stereotypical dude things. Girls like these things to of course, but they don't have to be dicks about it.

Log in 8-bit can often do that. Just look at Sony S-log3 which imo is unusable. Luckily Cine gamma looks great, as I suspect Eterna and CC would on the Fuji. F-Log, S-log3 etc are best kept for scenes without large bright areas or when recording externally. Or if one simply doesn't care. From the example above the Vimeo version is good enough imo. Not interested in the X-T3 but the potential for an X-H2, X-Pro3 or X-E4 makes it very interesting to follow the progress,

Canon EOS R full frame mirrorless talk hots up
Mattias Burling replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
I just got some banner ads for a trade in program for the EOS-R. Makes it a bit more attractive to me over the Z6 (which I'm otherwise leaning towards). I still haven't watched through all the preview videos and such. Need to do that before making up any kind of mind. And of course see what Panasonic brings. As of today the biggest selling point of the Canikons over Sony/Fuji is the same old thing. Lenses. I not only want but need at least 200mm with lighting fast AF in dim lighting (for stills) without breaking the bank. From what I've seen the adapters for Sony/Fuji still doesn't cut it. If Tamron released their excellent 70-200 f2.8 G2 for Sony the A7iii would immediately be a contender. -
Any experience with the Viltrox? Side by sides with metabones looks great. Price is low. Demo with EF lenses looks promising. I will get the MFT version this week (it was 20% off here, thinking about adding the Fuji version to my order in case I get an XH1).

I often get banding added in youtube compression so I wouldn't read to much into it before seeing original clips.

Sony a7SIII - Full Frame 4K 60fps 10bit with Flip Out Screen
Mattias Burling replied to Dave Maze's topic in Cameras
Fuji XT100 has both a flip and a tilt. Sad the XT3 didn't get it. For stills I love a tilt but hate a fully articulated, and Im far from alone. Thats probably part of the reason why there isn't much complaints about it on the GH5.
