Its a very "pro-camera-thing" to not have a PASM-dial. Personally Im not a fan. I prefer the dial like on a 5D over lets say a Nikon D5/500 or Canon 1DX.

I can imagine. When shooting with the X-T2 after the internal F-Log update it was basically: F-Log - Eterna LUT - Done. Not that I found that the Classic Chorme needed much grading, but some adjustments where usually due to compensate an ETTR exposure.

Fuji is making me want to spend money again. I was planning on buying a GX9 for handheld video (using my Canon glass). But then I saw the prices of a brand new G80/85 (I suspect a replacement is coming because its down to $500 and stocks are running low). Ok, cool. A speedbooster clone and Im golden for $600. But the the X-T3 dropped like a bomb. Expected delivery this month and at a relatively low price. Lets just say that Im already seeing the X-H1 falling. I'm gonna have a very hard time resisting the opportunity to score a X-H1. Last time the X-E3 saved me (man is that a small bang for the buck monster). Its way more than I want to spend on a non-video-video-camera, but given how good they are for stills it would have a lot of use. And watching the videos above isn't helping either

My old Epson RD1 had it. Ni video though. Or liveview. -
Sony a7SIII - Full Frame 4K 60fps 10bit with Flip Out Screen

Dear god, no more fully articulated screens. There is no need. Fuji already fixed it with the X-T100. Please save us from the plague that is the fully articulated screen! -
Lol, Yeah, I'm the one ignoring things to fit a fanboy narrative... geez.. people are weird these days

Wow, just checked the preorder prices. Very decent starting price. Will probably sell well. I haven't read up on it enough, at first glance it doesn't offer to much over a used X-pro2/t2. But if I was in the market to buy a brand new APSC this would be difficult to pass on.

You are making the same mistake over and over. You assume that none of them want the unique features that the EOS-R offers. This is what happens when people get blinded by fan rage. They miss the things that are right there in front of them. Just by reading the spec sheet you see things that no other camera offers. Some will actually want those things.

Canon EOS R full frame mirrorless talk hots up

Yeah let's criticize the on/off switch. Lol What did Panasony put in their on/off switch that Canikon didn't? An ice cream maker? -

I knew the starting lens lineup was sweet but I haven't paid much attention until now. A 35mm f1.8 with IS.. and STM... and Macro... I could honestly consider a EOS-R for that lens alone. Nicely priced as well. -
Can we all just have a big f***ing laugh about this...

I don't see any apologies. I just see people that accept reality for what it is and how they will deal with it. I still don't understand why this is happening. Why is this entire forum up in flames over a bunch of newly announced, awesome, in their own ways, cameras? Why do we as a group choose to use the occasion for constant wining, competing, measure penises, attack and ridicule those who dont think exactly like us? Why aren't we discussing what these new things will add to this community? Why does everyone go to bash in the thread of their least favorite instead of having a pleasant conversation in the thread about the one that is their favorite? Positive posts seems to always end up in a thread about other stuff, just as flame instead of where it belongs. 3 new major announcements within a week or so + more to come = The most negative atmosphere ever on a camera forum = Psychotic I remember when NAB, Photokina, etc made forums a fun place. -
Which cameras from 2015 with equal DPAF are you referring to? True. People always forget that these are meant for stills. Video is just an add-on. Also its the same old story, only focus on what the camera doesn't have when comparing, and ignoring what it DOES have. Same thing happened to Nikon a few weeks ago. And for example Leica every single day. All the newly announced cameras have features that blow all other cameras out of the water. There is no "best" or even"better" camera.

Why the camera press need to grow a pair of balls
Mattias Burling replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
The biggest influencers of influencers is other influencers. The camera company that's been most aggressive with using influencers on YouTube and Instagram the last couple of years is without any doubt Sony. And it looks like its paying off. -
So, h265, internal 10-bit, 4K 60p confirmed. I wonder what minor detail reviewers will choose to complain about in order to overshadow it.

I don't get what the fuz is about. Canon have always been expensive with their top lenses. Its not like the MF Nikon 0.95 is going to be for free. Btw, how much is Sony's 50mm f1.2? Oh that's right. When my favorite Sony, the original A7 was released it was the same story. To few and overpriced lenses. So I wouldn't worry about it. Prices always come down eventually. Its just a problem if you have to have the latest stuff (which no one does). -

Depends on the channel. For me affiliate links is hardly worth the time copy pasting them into the description. Depends on the county. -

Yup. They are influencers, which is also a job. But its not journalism. -

I am a journalist by degree. And I used to be one by profession (work in marketing now). Ive never reviewed a camera that I haven't bought for my own money. The only exception is the LS300 which I borrowed from JVC, but by the time of publishing the review I already had my own in transit, paid for by my own money. In my reviews I tell it like I see it. I like to stay positive so I only review the stuff I like. Ive owned several cameras from various brands that might even appear on my channel but never gets reviewed. Thats because I didn't like them enough for what I use them for. But with all that said, I never see myself as a "journalist" when I make my videos. And I would never describe any of the guys in hotel rooms as journalists. They are welcome to call themselves that, Im totally fine with that. But they would never get the recognition as being one from me or my colleagues at work whom also have a background in journalism. The same goes for former colleagues and class mates from the university. The way I view it, they are part of the marketing machine. They are brand ambassadors. But its ok. I really want to emphasize that Im fine with it. They aren't doing anything wrong. Im actually thankful that they do all the work, the traveling, etc just to provide me with useful, interesting and entertaining content. For free. Its a job like any other. So to all of you there in Hawaii. Fro, Tony, Philip or who ever you are, Thank you -
Choosing between all of them would for me go like this. 1. Do they all take good enough stills? Yes 2. Good enough 1080p? Yes 3. Are there available lenses for my needs? Maybe 4. Of the once left, do they work ergonomically and button wise according to my style? Maybe 5. Of the once left (if more than one), is there something else like mojo or a neat feature like IBIS that could be useful? Probably Take my money.

Cropfactor applied to aperture is wrong unless you add a long ass sentence about shutter speed and/or iso, sensor generation etc, etc, etc. It makes zero sense. F2 is f2 is f2.

In sure there is. But they haven't got the right tools, otherwise the job would have been done.
