Canon EOS R full frame mirrorless talk hots up
Mattias Burling replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
The reason they didn't crack it is because there never was a public firmware update. So they don't know where to begin. The threatening part is just rumors so far. Probably the reason why the 5Div isn't cracked. Have to send it in to get C-log. -

The digital IS on my 6D is decent but I never use it. Mainly because EF lenses IS, as well as Nikons VR can easily rival IBIS for hand held shooting imo. On the 5Dmkiii I could handhold 200mm with IS and on the D750 I was at 120mm all the time. Nice and smooth. For vintage glass or to get the floaty look is of course a different story. So I'm hoping for stabilized primes like the 35mm f2. -

Regarding Rolling Shutter. I advice against judging it by reports from people looking at the back of the camera display instead of actual footage. The BMPC4K is a Global Shutter incapable of rolling shutter artifacts. But on the back LCD it has massive Jello when panning. -

Personally I would have a difficult time choosing between this and the Nikon. Luckily I'm not in the market for a mirrorless FF as of now. Hopefully both systems will be easier to grasp once actual user reviews are out. -

A tip, Got an email a couple of hours ago from Syrp. They have used the camera for a week or so. Published a video centric review as well as shared video clips and photos for download. Imo a better source than tweets from a press event. -

Yeah sure. All those pro's out there with Canon DSLRs are idiots. Thats the reason. And of course they all shoot flowers. No one is working with sports, portrait, news or anything. I'm with you, your personal needs and preferences should be applied to all. Btw, its lunch time here soon, what are you having, so I can buy the same? Wouldn't want to be the idiot that buys the wrong food.. -

The EOS-R does 8fps. I don't see how that's bad in a mid range and according to rumor, affordable camera. Its not meant for sports. Canon if anyone knows that for sports you use a DSLR. So why even bother. -

Interesting. A very close friend of mine worked at a company where they where hired by Nikon to attend various photo forums. But the objective was always to gather info and clear up facts. Never to talk down about other brands. -
Panasonic announcing a full frame camera on Sept. 25???

But that not a single frame from the digital ended up in the movie says a lot about film God I love The Room. I will have to replace my Bluray soon, wearing it out. -

Nah its accurate. Believe me. Im a Sony fanboy and Fuji shooter. I review all of them. If I review a Sony all is well. If I review a Fuji I get attacked by Sony Fanboys. If I review a Pentax or Nikon I'm attacked by Sony and Fuji Fanboys. If I review a Canon... all hell breaks loose since even Sony Walkman fanboys attack. I base this on receiving and reading 26 090 comments over the last couple of years. Just visit any forum and see for yourself. For example checkout the thread about the EOS-R on EOSHD. After my 6Dmkii review I had to block some really vicious people that weren't attacking just me but also people commenting on the video. And not about specs. We are talking threats and in general things that would lead to a punch in the face irl. The weirdest thing was they weren't all anonymous. They actually used their business accounts...freelancers, production house employees using their official accounts... -

Panasonic announcing a full frame camera on Sept. 25???
Mattias Burling replied to Trek of Joy's topic in Cameras
That is not one of the biggest retailers, and its in like 15th place when you look at prices. The cheapest from a respectable dealer in Stockholm is 13 970:- NOT 21 990:- And the two biggest retailers in Sweden are asking 14 990:- https://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?p=4098517 No haggling, that google search was way of, check my link. -

Since you go for an attack instead of answering a simple and friendly question Im calling BS. But you are incorrect. I just checked all the biggest retailers here and they aren't listing the prices you claim. Plus you named some store I've never even heard of. Why don't you for once just answer like a normal person instead of a troll? -

This is incorrect. All the biggest retailers in Stockholm are asking $1500-1600. That first one you list I've never heard of, link? -

Never on any forum, photo event or news outlet have I ever heard of this. Sounds like a fake rumor imo. -

I'm not sure I really buy the "protecting the cinema line anymore". I believe they are doing what they can to deliver a camera to their standards. Sonys over heat and canons subsampling c-cameras have cooling fans. -

Yes it does, it switches to it automatically when going into live mode, if I want to. But usually I have it in single when using DPAF as well. And in liveview its faster to turn on tracking with the screen or the button than it would with a switch. -

I agree completely on ergonomics, but until I've held them its of course just my suspicion. I never go out of AF-S and hopefully most lenses would let me switch to MF on the barrel. -

My biggest complaint with th 6Dmkii is that its a fully articulated screen instead of a tilt, or Fujis Game Changing solution on the X-T100. So 1 point to Nikon. -

I can't see any of the latest specs mentioning anything about a PL-adapter? Do you have a reliable source? "Mount adapter: “Mount adapter EF – EOS R” “Control ring mount adapter EF – EOS R” “Drop – in filter mount adapter EF – EOS R”" -

Probably a cinema camera. But, if it is indeed a Leica SL clone as some have guessed. Which would mean cheap Panasonic SL glass... then Canikon, Fuji and Panasony mirrorless cameras can suck it. I would bag a used SL
