  1. I know, you have been doing it a long time now. But I think you are a bit hard on yourself. You shouldn't go as far as calling yourself scum. Imo troll is the proper term.
  2. I guess. It was when saying that some angry fellow threw a tantrum. So I just wanted to check it out. Personally Im fine with it either way. One thing that confuses me is how thinking that companies that improve their products via firmware makes me a Sony fanboy when Sony never does it... its just weird. All the people that raved about the Samsung firmware updates back in the day, where they Sony fanboys to?
  3. I tried. Both in standard PP. First one is default and levels set according to the waveform and the other is shadows -2. I might have done it wrong or something but right now I just don't see big enough of a difference for it to be a big deal to me. Regular Shadows -2
  4. Imo there is huge difference between fixing bugs and adding features that wasn't there when announced. Fuji and BMD does both while some companies does neither.
  5. I have access to a XT20 at work so I guess I can give it a go.
  6. Cool, can you share the original clips or perhaps quickly shoot two new once? Would love to try again and see if I can see a difference in post.
  7. Then feel free to use the forums built in ignore function. I often see you say all kinds of things that I think is about kokoo, but I just scroll by. Its your opinion and you are entitled to it. You should try to do the same.
  8. I believe you Im just talking about my needs and experiences. Ive never challenged anyone, thats just something the angry fellow makes up in his head. Must be the sun down there. I see no difference between them worth mentioning. I see zero reason to play with shadows and highlights in camera since I have been able to replicate it in post. That doesn't mean you didn't see a difference. We simply might have been under different circumstances, expose differently, or edit differently. Or we just have different bars when it comes to what we view as a significant difference. Its just like when I said Im glad they stuck with a flip screen, because I have much more use for that than a fully articulating. Some would just chalk it up under "a different preference". And a few angry fellows will go ape shit and try everything to ridicule it, convince me its "wrong" or just act up like a baby.
  9. If it was up to me you wouldn't take my advice on anything, specially since I never gave you any. You just make shit up. I share my opinion and you constantly challenge it like some fundamentalist. Again here you lie and put words in my mouth even though we never met.
  10. I didn't know you worked as an expert at Fuji? Thats cool. In order to try stay on topic, don't know if its already posted:
  11. Out of likes, this is the best advice so far today. Hype and new releases are never gonna be the way to reliability. If one really wants good video, a video camera might be even better (haven't watched Tonys video but I did glance at all the hate the video got since the response videos about it got more viral than his review. I wonder if the A7iii is the new NX1 which will be brought up like a broken record in every single thread.)
  12. I guess, if thats something one needed. On Fuji I always shot in default since there is so much information in both shadows and highlights which are easily brought back. Looking at the waveform from a Fuji clip (any PP is fine) one can easily see it. The shadows/highlights settings doesn't really do anything different. And a quick drag-n-drop in post on all clips takes two seconds. But I agree, having the option would have been great. The more the merrier.
  13. There is your lie about me in black and white for everyone to read. Nowhere have I ever said that Panasonic never issued a firmware update. Thats just something you made up. Now please just let it go so this thread can stay on track for once. Just because I don't like the same things like you doesn't mean that you are an idiot. It just means that we have different opinions. And it got 4K which is a pretty sweet bonus imo
  14. Then why did you just make up a lie about me? And BTW, Im not afraid to admit that Im a bit of a Sony Fanboy. The A7x is one of my go to cameras, and has been for years. But that doesn't mean Im gonna swallow that promo material without questions. And it doesn't mean Im gonna give in to the hype before people actually have used the camera. You can buy what ever you like, don't care one bit. I will stick with my Sony, but I will also stick with my opinion that Sony is the worst company ever when it comes to firmware support.
  15. Which Sony 1080p cameras have gotten 4K in firmware updates.. oh thats right, none. Ok which Sony cameras have gotten useful features added... oh.. Ok, I got one. Which Sony cameras have had regular issues and bugs fixed...?... hmm.. 8 months vs Eternity I own a Sony and zero Fuji cameras. And Ive bought at least ten times as many Sonys vs any other brand over the years. They are nice. But one thing they really suck absolute balls at imo. That is Firmware Updates. Fuji on the other hand is leading the pack there. And given that this is a Fuji thread I will say that the A7iii can go suck it. I would never say that in a Sony thread, but here I can say it. Im am so under impressed about the A7iii that I find it almost comical that people are so extremely excited. Its a cool camera but the hype is so massive. I mean are there even any good reviews on the Sony out yet? (no, the Vegas reviews do not count at all. Thats just promo material. Im talking user reviews.)
  16. Sony doesn't fix jack in my experience, they are the absolute worst in that respect imo. Not bugs and definitely not adding stuff like Fuji and Blackmagic. Fuji are quick on the ball so I wouldn't worry one single bit about it. Personally I never ever shoot outside of DR100 so it doesn't matter anyway
  17. Wouldn't worry about it. This is Fuji we're talking about. Not only do they fix things they will also ad additional features via firmware. Panasony and Canikon could learn a thing or two from them. After using Blackmagic, Bolex and Fuji one can easily become a bit spolied with solid updates and fixes.
  18. When my company needs video for webb, TV or huge stadiums we are still more than happy with the C100. And the prices on it now... Im constantly fighting the urge.
  19. I'm probably the only one here that feels this way so you probably should ignore my advice. But I didn't like my 1DC all that much. I came from the 5Dmkiii and didn't see much benefit from the 1DC. I didn't have the need for the built-in 1DX and the video wasn't any better than ML Raw. Also I missed the peaking and exposure tools of the 5D. But that's just me.
  20. So 4 out of 10 still use film. And as I recall this is the smallest percentage it has been since people started saying "film is dead". Doesn't look very dead to me. (I see you next year when history repeats itself for the tenth time )
  21. Don't think I would need to hire a bodyguard when I have a factory building killer robots at my disposal.
  22. Then I sugest working in the marketing departement of a robot factory. Being a good photog will get you in the door faster.
  23. Then dont work in a funeralhome. And its simple math, pull in more than you cost and there is little to no reason for you to be downsized. Unless you display this sort of attitude at work of course. Then I would look for a reason to fire you. I can't have people on my staff saying: "if you think that project is going to work you need your head examined. Its no use. Times is to blame. Lets give up.." Again, sitting at home blaming every thing and its mom, doing nothing is the fastest way to failure.
  24. I follow loads of female street shooters, both DSLR and mirrorless. And among sports shooters I must have run into a hundred just in the last year, all using Canon DSLR with big tele glass.
  25. And exactly how do you know that?
