The low-budget bubble has well and truly burst
Mattias Burling replied to IronFilm's topic in Cameras
No need to debate at all. For me its simple, if he/she enjoys the wooden headphones. Then its all good. I don't have to agree or understand. Nor calling them names, they are just different which is fine -
Yeah lets derail the thread some more...

This makes me think you just didn't "get" whatever it was you encountered The trying to hards imo are the once trying to figure stuff out instead of embracing diversity. -
Is the EOS-M *THE* Digital Super-8 Camera?
Mattias Burling replied to Matt James Smith ?'s topic in Cameras
Its only the fitst generation that's 30p only. The others have 24 and 25 as well. -
Yup and this is just a preview. When ever I buy a camera I check his reviews so I never have to touch the manual. He goes through the lot I think he has the grip on? The drive mode thingy is a pain. Thats a nice feature of the Xpro2 vs XT2 and X100f (which have great video). Not need to switch drive mode to start recording. The X-T20 also have it but its drive selector wheel is better imo, easier to access.

Did you search for "Bolex" in the camera category or did you search "banged up old camera, don't know name, seems broken" under antiques?
-
Don't bid on the lenses, bid on the cameras with lenses. I see them regularly on ebay and other places for very little money.

Is the EOS-M *THE* Digital Super-8 Camera?

I haven't compared to the Olympus but the camera gives me great looking images. I could talk for hours about this camera, its a lot of fun. If anyone ever thought about getting one, now is the time. Because in a week or two my review will bump those ebay prices to the moon. -
Thats a valid point to remember. Fuji doesn't make video cameras that need protection. The only thing holding them back is that just like Canon their main target audience are still shooters. And they get upset If they feel they are being charged for something they dont want. The price btw was bang on imo. It feels cheap when I compare it to the other top tiers on my local camera stores website.

If I see that I smile and take a picture. I find pure joy in diversity. I love all kinds of nerds. -
This. I was surprised today to learn this was a "tech forum". I thought it was about creating and the tech was a big part of it but still just one piece of a puzzle.

Im with you. When anyone calls someone a "hipster" I always read it as "I don't understand and that scares me so I resort to name calling". -
Lol, don't you constantly talk about the NX1?
-
Please share a link to the test you have done where you somehow prove that its not powerful for everyone and their needs. I know you can't, If you would say its not powerful enough for your use, fine. But don't pass feelings as facts and expect not to get called on it. BTW, you don't see me in the NX1 or GH5 threads constantly ripping on the shortcomings that makes them a terrible camera compared to the Fuji. Even Fuji XT20. Thats because I know that Im only speaking fro myself. There is no point in going on and on about the pour codec of the Samsung or the inferior controls of the GH5. Thats just what I think, not facts. Others like them. And its all down to taste. IMO the Fuji really pushes the industry forward and now I hope that Panasony can catch up. They need to get their act together with lenses and controls. But if someone thinks the controls of a GH5 is fine or that the lenses for Sony is enough, then they will think its the other way around. One persons game changer is the others "meh". Mårten always goes very deep into details on functions, menus etc. This is just a preview but still interesting imo.
-
This is not a fact but you never make that clear. If it is passive aggressiveness, flame baiting or just pour wording, I don't know.
-
Never said there wasn't. Thats because you more than once have tried to pass your own feelings as facts. People are different. There you go, a subjective feeling that you make sound like a fact. You forgot to say that this is just your opinion about something you have never tried. My opinion is different. We are both right, there is no wrong.

I really think it is. Its hard to explain but I guess its a combination of the very high quality wide open, the extra reach and speed that makes it just lovely. Bokeh is very sweet as well. Size is the only downside. But on a X-T2 or even better Xpro2 it balances well.

Yes, Im very very happy they didn't incorporate a fully articulating screen since I then would never even consider the camera. Remote app I guess could be fun, but I would hate using it so I don't care if its in there or not. PS. just because you got canned from being a moderator doesn't mean you all of a sudden have to agree with everyone. Its ok to have different needs and opinions. And most of all, external controls that Panasonic, Sony, Samsung and Canon simply don't offer. Our only choices really is Leica (not so good video imo), Nikon DF (doesn't have video) and Fuji. But haters are always gonna hate and try to bend and twist arguments, force their opinions and pretend their needs are the worlds. All because they care about what others think about their gear. The thought about someone else not liking their camera scares them so much that they aren't satisfied by defending it on forums. They must also go on the offence agains others who doesn't blindly share their opinions and feelings. I will never get it.. ..And I don't even own a single Fuji camera or lens.

Regarding the 50mm and 56mm I bought both and decided to keep the 56mm. For 23mm and 35mm I prefer the f2 WR versions.
-
I shoot for the web all the time. No need for it. If we are talking vlogs then external monitor or another camera is probably a better solution than fiddling with phones, imo.
-
Yes, definitely try it first.
-
23mm wr and 56mm and I was set.
-
Imo fully articulated screens is almost a deal breaker. And I know Im far from alone. I would say its a 50/50 devider anong camera users.

Many others?
