There is no noise in daylight at low iso. Unless you messed up exposure and/or lighting.

Black turns purple with IR pollution. All I see is a grade. @DaveAltizer

Any comment not based on actual use is not worth anything imo. So any observation of motion or what ever is still pure speculation so far. But... if what I've seen so far is acurate. If the specs are as I understand them. And adding to that my experience with earlier models as well as Fujis tradition of firmware updates that puts all the others to shame. If all this is true... ..Then this, imo, is the new benchmark to beat for hybrid cameras. For my usage it seems to be at the absolute frontier. But until I use it its just speculation. And that will be a while since Im on a break from mirrorless all together. Also @webrunner5 recently convinced me to try a different system. But sooner or later I might give into temptation.

Also time code please @DaveAltizer

Yes but then you loose the things that the Fuji brings to the table. Even the old X-T1 has things that Samsung couldn't implement in the NX1. I guess they where asleep. (Did you see what I did there, I illustrated the difference in needs and wants. For many there are features on for example the NX1 that immediately breaks the deal. Same thing with the GH5. Not all cameras are suposed to do exactly everything. There is room for variants.)

If only there was an option in the market that had those things. Sadly we have to get by with what's available.

Regarding af cinelenses. One of the companies that makes electronic follow focuses are planning to implement AF in them. That means AF in every single lens ever made.

After many years of decline in in house production it is now slowly starting to shift to an increase. Most public relations and marketing job ads I see now asks for production capabilities. I became a producer very early on since imo thats where Im allowed the most creativity. But I kept shooting and have played with YouTube to have something to fall back on, to be a better producer/buyer of services and because I "knew" this would happen. So my tip to many is, look outside of freelance and production houses. When choosing college, consider PR/Communication. And understand that the specialist isnt necessarily in higher demand than an allrounder.

We have this discussion every time. Camera companies with Panasony included WANTS the video looking early crappy promotional footage. They want to show what the camera does on its own without any thought or post process. There are of course exceptions like blackmagic and to some extent the GH5. But otherwise it always looks like crap in the promotionals. And every time we wait for actual users and are forced to change our minds. I just hope we could start sparring ourselves the same old discussion.

Depends on how strict you are with semantics
-
Wondering the same. Ive seen clean t3i footage and there are great looking feature films on the 5Dii seen by millions with no complaints.
-
Both.

Ive seen plenty that looks awesome. I was just curious if you talked from experience since then we could see why yours looked so much worse than others.

Morten H usually have had a preproduction and releases thorough stuff on day one.

Panasonic announce 8K Global Shutter Organic sensor
Mattias Burling replied to ntblowz's topic in Cameras
Or maybe it grows like an organism. It was born ten years ago and isnt ready for the spot light until its sweet sixteen. I guess then it runs on batteries as well as water and a mixture of protein, fat and carbs. I wonder if its vegetarian? -
I don't see the difference with my footage even after the upgrade. Also, in my experience the upgraded codec from the A7ii is actually worse that the original A7. When looking around and specially when reviewing my own footage there definitely is a contest. I prefer the A7 image quality over the a6000. More detail and just cleaner. But its all subjective of course. All specs and images are. Not even resolution is written in stone that higher is better than lower. It always depends.

I only own two or three cameras so I don't think I qualify for a "pro collector". Do you have any info on the requirements for such a title? No I have a regular day job. Always have. Reviewing cameras is just for fun and an excuse to show photos. Im waaaaaay to small to be able to make any sort of money from it. So not a "pro reviewer" either. You don't have that power or authority Now lets try to get back on topic please. The GX9 is what we are here to discuss.
-
Yes I did. You and me both. I never have, nor ever will buy a camera just review it. But unlike you I could never ditch a camera after only a month unless I really hated it
-
You and me both. Thats why the gx80 had to go for the gx7. Pleasure of shooting trumps specs imo.
-
They both have more than the older nex-5 so it doesn't matter. I can live with eiher.

Panasonic announce 8K Global Shutter Organic sensor
Mattias Burling replied to ntblowz's topic in Cameras
This is starting to become a boy crying wolf. The "organic sensor" has been just around the corner for as long as m4/3 has existed. Common Many, when are we going to get to try it out? -
They would be pretty much exactly the same accept for more moire in the a6000 and it costs more with a speed booster. Again, it would be nice to see links to the stuff people shot that they where not satisfied with to figure out whats wrong. And not bad stuff they have seen from others, that has no value what so ever. Im interesting in what they have shot themselves. Unless of course they have never used it and are just posting stuff they think they know about it. But that never happens on forums right.. Congratulations. Its a great camera. Same image quality as the A7, maybe a hair more moire and smaller sensor. But its close enough. And imo, APS-C is almost starting to feel like a sweet spot bellow MF. I hope you have fun with it!

Was it made out of gold? Here Its constantly on sale for €300. Almost every month. Used but in mint condition we are in the low $200. I bought it when new, I think a month after release, for something like $499 including the 20mm f1.7. Its just how it is here. These cameras are hard to sell. The GH5 is the top line in my book. I loved the tilt EVF on the GX7 and I love it on my Ricoh GXR now. Its a feature I wish all cameras had.

There of course is a benefit when static, no ibis is good enough for walking. I was just saying that for me personally its not worth sacrificing the ergonomics for it. If it would have been really strong I might have reconsidered and kept the A7ii.
-
What exactly is missing? It has zebras, peaking, mic input, tilt screen, big evf, etc. I always advice against the A7ii because I dont feel the ibis is good enough to sacrifice the ergonomics. But ergonomics is of course subjective. The price difference is of course also something to consider.
