  1. So I must start using still cameras as video cameras and not voice my opinion or go around calling people I don't know "frauds" for not agreeing with me? I have a third option I want to run by you. What if I use what ever I feel like and dont judge others for having other preferences? That way I can focus on what I actually know, my needs and preferences. And not waste energy arguing about others needs and preferences which I just like you know absolutely nothing about
  2. Not people looking for great stills I guess.
  3. Seems like a great camera. For me personally a Fuji is a usable stills option in all scenarios I can think of. It rivals FF. Ive shot sports, portraits, doc, you name it with a X-Pro2 or X-T20. So the stills department is in the bag. Not as a compromise but top notch imo. If the intended usage of video is 50% or lower it is a great camera and I would probably love it. For something like 70% video I guess a GH5 would make more sense but anything higher than that and I rather have two cameras, one dedicated for video. But that's just me.
  4. Ive been using a variable Genus Eclipse with Xume adapters for years now and very happy with it. If it was today I would go SLR magic. But it hasn't broke on me yet so Im sticking with it.
  5. I always have a hard time saying a stills camera sucks just because its not the best video camera in the world. If video is that important I use a video dedicated camera. But with that said. Nice review.
  6. Im sad to say I dont have the Bolex any more (Ive had two). Even more sadly they are very hard to find these days. But I might get a bmpcc again soon.
  7. They came in a couple of different housings. Some zebra striped and some all black. But they should be very similar in performance. Yes, you unscrew put on the new mount. Everything is included and you get a couple of sweet metal rear caps.
  8. Agreed. The noise is fine without weird color artefacts even when very aggressively pushed. I often use iso 4000 to 6400 in decent light just to get a nice grain effect.
  9. X-trans is 50% of the selling point for me. It is what allows me to push fuji APS-C iso way past my Sony FF.
  10. Ok you changed my mind. Its much better to have a 2018 Datsun than a 2016 BMW... how could I not have seen it. Age is a more important spec than image quality, ergonomics, button layout, lenses, etc. Boy are the XT2 shooters gonna be disappointed when the X-H1 is released. Imagine waking up and turning on the computer just to see all the great photos you had have turned to shit. Phone is ringing with angry clients demanding their money back. Your wife screaming because all the pictures of the kids has turned to turds in microwaves. Its gonna be brutal.
  11. Putting C-mounts on them is super easy so no biggy. I thought they where great fun.
  12. If only the NX1 could satisfy my still needs. Then I would buy it for the fourth time. Definitely. A nx2 would be a dream.
  13. If your just want a quick fade to black you can also drag the little dot at the end of the clip.
  14. This is where I stopped reading. Just a bunch of BS.
  15. I don't remember the brand. I can get back to you when it arrives.
  16. Why all this hate? Did Kodak and Pentax beat you up in school or something? Why get upset over what color or flavor of ice cream one prefers. Im never gonna understand that mentality. Its just seems like such a waste of energy. (Ps. You don't get to tell me what is"best" and except me to blindly agree. Its only your personal opinion and isn't more right or wrong than mine.)
  17. There is always someone willing to pay. And even $1 is more than $0
  18. Or use a compound clip. There definitely is light at the other end of the tunnel.
  19. I bought the first version. It was full frame. (Film )
  20. No, its the opposite. It keeps it in sync
  21. This is true. It isn't trying to be premiere, vegas or avid. Its something else. But believe me. It gets so good. Its like learning to drink Coffey. Nasty in the beginning but once your hooked... And I can't stress enough how much I don't recommend trying weird stuff like empty blocks and such instead of learning to work with the magnetic timeline instead of against it. Now using an NLE without a magnetic timeline feels like the biggest step back ever. Push through, I believe in you!
  22. Im still waiting on my D-Mount adapter. I did however receive my Kern lenses. It amazes me that its the same build, fit and finish as on the 16mm versions. The little aperture indicators are just awesome. And just like the 16mm lenses they are a steal by buying a busted up camera with the lenses included from a flee market or the backroom of eBay. Meanwhile Im playing with the "s8 ascetics" on the Q with the native glass. This is the nr06 zoom.
