Panasonic GH5S 4K / 240fps low light monster
Mattias Burling replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
He knows way more than people give him credit for. But I don't care. Over two stops of DR sounds game changing since it would put it infront of the BMCC (13), Canon C100 (12) and A7s (11). Would love to see samples of that. Doeas anybody know any good video showing it, dont feel like watching all of them? -

According to Kai its one stop of lowlight and zero stops of DR improvement. I have done nothing to figure out if its true and have watched zero samples so I have no clue. But if its true I have lost all interest. But I am for everything that brings the gh4 prices down. Its at sub $500 and dropping. I dont care for the 4K since its cropped as much if not more than for example the D500. But I have always had a softspot for its HD. Could be a fun upgrade to my gm1. -
You can use a cheap adapter but no speedbooster to EF. You could have if you had the BMCC MFT. Best way then is a EF to MFT speedbooster and just a regular adapter from CY to the EF booster.

Yes for raw stills. There is very little noise and when pushed its 99% luma noise which is very easy to remove or plesant to keep. I often shoot the new Fuji sensor in daylight at iso 4000 just because of the nice grain structure. -
I don't think the Kamlan is a Sonnar design.

My side by side testing showed Fuji APS-C out preforming the FF Sony A7 and A7rii when pushed. So they can claim anything they like as long as the X-Trans keeps delivering such quality. -
Where can I find these cheap full frame covering Zeiss Sonnar lenses with an f1.1 aperture that they have rebranded?

That 60mm f2.8 practically lived on my GH3 back in the day. @cantsin I don't have any experience with the 35mm but if the 50mm is any indication of the brand I would say its worth a try. I use my 50mm f1.1 all the time. Its great on APS-H and APS-C. Needs some correction on FF E-Mount but the its worth it when you get the level of detail that it can render.

Could we see some numbers? For every Nikon camera I see I see at least 50 Canon. Counting low, its probably 100 Would be interesting to see if Nikon was still ahead. Back in the day regular Joe's didn't buy multiple lenses, if at all. So I wonder if its enough.

I just quoted the source, take it up with them. https://www.43rumors.com/exact-crop-factors-caluclated-new-gh5s-multiaspect-sensor/ -
I prefer the EF so for me it doesn't matter. For mft one might as well buy the bmpcc imo.

From 43rumors, "If you add a Speed Booster XL to the GH5s you get in DCI 4K a crop factor of 1,149x with 35mm lenses." Thats basically full frame. -
Only problem is that the Sony E-mount is well protected by patents and no-one is allowed to make it. If others could make E-mounts then Blackmagic and JVC would already have done it. Like JB once pointed out, funny how the BMCC EF was announced just after the Canon EF patents expired.

You can get a bmpc4k + ursa mini 4k all kittet out for less than $3k... sign me up. Imo, the bmpc4k is the best image from any blackmagic so far. Its HD kicks the butt of gh5, a7sii or any other 4K consumer stuff. Much more detail without the over sharpened look. The DR and Lowlight is what it is. Manageable.

I am convinced about my reaction to the price. It makes the camera a bit meh.. -

Comparing to cameras released several years ago will often have such results... You also forgot the prime zoom, formfactor, phantom powered XLRs and the s35mm sensor. But still no point in trying to compare release prices with three year old cameras imo. -

Just saw the asking price. m4/3 isn't what it used to be. -
10mp is more than enough for a stills camera even with large prints. The question is, how good does the internal 10bit look. DR is what the GH5 lacks. Can it be a non issue? If so its a winner. Ibis, schmibis...

Ive had the M9 Monochrome. It was nice. But I couldn't justify it when film is easy to obtain and develop at home. And the Leica M8 without an IR filter produces almost as nice looking B&Ws.

Only a few days now. It needs to be extreme for me to consider it. But still excited. Its been a while since something big happened on the market. It needs a good stir.

Why YouTuber Logan Paul can't put his camera down
Mattias Burling replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Ive seen interviews with them since they are Swedish but never seen their work. I haven't seen more than two videos by casey. And imho, I think you are making to big of a deal about this. Like someone else already said. That's not how YouTube works. Those people dont show up in my feed. And there are plenty of popular things I dont watch. I for example haven't seen the twilight movies either, but thats because they suck. -

Never heard of him but it doesn't sound like I should be happy about that.
