It is possible. The Atomos recorders have been ready to accept raw (converted or dng) for many years now. They said all that was missing where the camera manufacturers wanting them to.

Well if the negatives gets rescanned I would consider it. But blueray will be sufficient for me until that happens. But its not just the greater quality of blueray that makes me but my favorite movies on it. It saves me time and money as well. Like I said. It depends on who you are and where you live.

He is technically skilled for sure. But his view on women is in a serious need of an update. Im so tired of clische dudes that pose women as horny idiots and men as bad ass and cool.. the 70s are over.
-
Bluerays will be relevant for as long as there are players. Comparing to what people said before streaming was invented is not so relevant imo. Its like with cameras. Just because a new one is out doesn't mean the old one is bad.

Ever since the c200 Im letting myself hope for the unexpected. Internal prores, dnxhd, raw, what ever. I have zero invested in the m4/3 system but plenty of M-mounts ready if a really sweet m4/3 video camera should show up.

Will Nikon ever introduce their own LOG profile?

D850 rocks by any standards. If one can't get good results from, a new camera won't solve the issue. -
Sony A6500, Panasonic G85 or Fujifilm XT-20?
Mattias Burling replied to Givememypips's topic in Cameras
You sure can. I've seen the c300 that cheap more than once and I sold my 1DC for sub $3k. -
If a movie "needs" color to be good it probably means the story sucks.
-
My experience as well. Love seeing the grain. Its visible on DVD but it really shines on blueray. Even a b-movie like The Room (one of my favourites) looks nice when you see what the film stock has to offer.

The 60mm f2.8 is one of the best value for money lenses out there.

This, it was so sad when the X100f got the video bumped to a really good quality and peaking while recording. But they added having to dig a menu to switch drive... broke my heart.

Yey, just scored a very cheap Canon 35mm f1.8 LTM (Leica M39 screw mount). Will give it a go on Leica M8, Fuji X-T20 and Sony A7. Maybe the Panasonic GM1 as well if I can find the adapter. That is all for now.

Do you have a link to the xpro2 footage you have shot? Or have you at least downloaded clips? I guess not. Btw, the EVA and C200 looks more professional. Who would have guessed. I mean they are only thousands of dollars more and two years younger. I would have guessed they would be worse. GH5 is a bit of emperors new clothes these days imo. Its nice. No doubt. But its not in the C200 category imo and not up to all the hype.

Despite the moire the bmpcc imo still looks better. Still an incredible camera after all these years.

Panasonic seems to be announcing something "BIG" on December 15
Mattias Burling replied to seku's topic in Cameras
Its funny how a while back lots of people went, "the gh5 rocks, even Casey uses it". Now the same people goes, "he sucks". (Not talking about anybody regular on this forum.) -
None of that is true for me. I guess it depends on what you like to watch, where and at what quality you want to see it. For me anything but streaming and buying the favourites on disc makes zero sense. Saves me time, alot of money and gives me a richer experience.

I stream in 720p, looks great. And for my favorite movies I get them on blueray.

For someone equally interested is still photography the "real" camera options with mechanical shutters is of course more appealing. I could never see myself using it for stills anyway so it wouldn't bother me.
-
For stills I would say the majority is B&W for me. When shooting film its 50/50, including Polaroid and Instax. For video its strangely 99.9% color. I really should start exploring it. If not video, s8 motion picture is cheaper than color and just as easy to develop and scan at home. For video I can imagine Raw being the ticket. If money wasn't an obstacle I would own the Digital Bolex D16 Monochrome. I used to have a Leica M9 Monochrome and man does such a CCD deliver. Today my weapon of choice is my M8 with the IR-cut off for deeper shades. My GRii delivers some of the finest B&Ws as well (no AA).

What I meant is that the BMPCC is of course primarily meant for an external battery. The one inside is merely an emergency hot swap that one also can use for a quick run-n-gun. But its not "the" battery to use for serious work. Either way, its of topic so we can let the matter rest.
-
Wow.. $700. I should start selling them over there. Ive never experienced those issues with the bmpcc. Batteries last all day if one uses a big one and I have no idea why there where issues in bright light. But like I said. If I ever see one for $199 I might try it. Or maybe they would give me one if I asked nicely
-
This got me curious since the GM1 quickly have become the camera I've used the most for my YouTube. But looking around the Z camera is priced to close to a used bmpcc. There is only one store selling them so I haven't seen it used either. But if one pops up I might give it a go.

FCP 10.4 with new CC tools, 360°, HDR and Canon C200 RAW

I can hook you up I shoot acros all the time. Love it. Strangely I prefer it in 35mm vs MF. Dont know why. Stand development in Rodinal looks great.
