Panasonic seems to be announcing something "BIG" on December 15
Mattias Burling replied to seku's topic in Cameras
I know plenty of people would love it to be true. But there is no way getting around it. The reason the 1DC or C100 isn't hacked is because no one knows how. Otherwise it would be done. And all the "some guy told a friend's cousin" isnt gonna change that. -
Of all the Fujis the X-Pro2 was my favorite for video even before this update. So I can imagine its only better now. Best part is all the extra information one can bring out in the shadows and higlights in post. Or if one don't want to grade, it looks nice and contrasty just as it is. (Still funny how after all these years we still see the "crushed blacks" comments. Why people don't just download a file and look at the waveform I'll never know.)

About freaking time! Lets just hope its not too late to get into the game for them. At least around here the video boom has seriously cooled. Cinema cameras are hard sells and crazy low on the used market. So to show up as a new player now might be tricky. Time will tell. Very nice footage btw.

I just see them saying that they dont know how to do it and rumors about "someone said". Unless it's an official statement from Canon its not worth anything. But it doesn't matter. Its not gonna happen, they don't even know how. And we can just leave it at that. -

That is about as much proof as if you said it. I still don't believe it, not without proof. If people knew how to hack a 1DC they would and just spread it online. But no one knows since they have never released a firmware upgrade. -

If all that came true I would by it instantly. -

Ok then. You don't see it. But you said "anyone". Do you seriosly not get why some would never ever take the pain of a DSLR when the C200 is only $5k more? -

You don't see any advantage of a superior evf, waveform, NDs, phantom powered xlrs, great preamps, raw, etc and so forth? Its a stills camera vs a professional cinema camera. -
Veydra Mini Primes vs. SLR Magic Hyperprimes for MFT
Mattias Burling replied to HenryTheGoodman's topic in Cameras
SLR makes many lenses. So they do have a set of PL cine glass with unified filters, T-stops, etc. They also have a website but it leaves a lot to be desired, http://www.slrmagic.com Better to use a retailer site to read up on them, https://www.ukdigital.co.uk/slr-magic-50mm-t21-apo-cine-lens.html -
Yup, I down to maybe 25 min of Eterna 250 in my freezer. So the new simulation definitely helps to ease the pain

Careful or someone will come with a chart showing that you are wrong and calling you an idiot for not knowing that you according to the numbers like cake

For someone who has watched that test series several times, this statement is exaggerated and out of context at best. And yes, you did forget to add the "imo" to prevent your statement from becoming a fanboy rant. Because that's what it is now. You tried to push a personal preference and opinion as a fact. Thats never a good idea imo.

Ýou forgot to ad "imo". Because in for example my opinion they absolutely do not. Like you said, everyone's entitled to their opinion.

iPhone X camera review - 4K 60P on a telephone
Mattias Burling replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Great article. "Why do you still need us to take the card out, put it in a computer, open software, re-touch and re-size with a mouse and keyboard, save to a hard drive and then upload the image to Facebook with a web browser? This isn’t 2007." This haven't been needed in a long time. I transfer raw files from my camera to my phone and edit in Lightroom before uploading. But I get your point -
Not very shocking that the GH5 took the top spot on DPReviews list of the best stills cameras for video. https://***URL removed***/reviews/2017-buying-guide-best-cameras-for-video And its great to see our old friend Ebrahim Saadawi champion it in the comment section. He has been very active there lately, maybe we he will make a comeback

A good variable ND ads little to no tint. So personally I do nothing to correct for it.

What will a mirrorless camera be like in 2023?
Mattias Burling replied to Oliver Daniel's topic in Cameras
I predict the downfall of at least one of the bigger players. Probably two. Other than that it will be the same story. Just like today cameras will have every single thing we asked for a few years earlier. But we're still not happy. -
It covers APS-C. But with some barrel distortion. There is a frame grab of that somewhere in the ls300 thread.
