  1. Ibis in an xt2 sounds like a big deal imo.
  2. That amount of pixel peeping shows nothing imo. Who would do that in real life.
  3. For stills I really dig x-trans. Pushing ISO feels almost endless.
  4. I like focus pulls and do it all the time. But I prefer it and get better results with a short throw. There are plenty of people that agree. Which was my point in the last post. One can't argue based one once opinions as if they applied to everyone.
  5. What's useless to some isn't necessarily to others. Ive used the 17mm a lot and prefer it to a regular fly by wire lens any day. In no way does it act like a normal fly by wire lens when pulling focus. That is simply not true. The scale and hard stops work. Simple as that. If it was true it would mean that the speed of the turn made a difference, it doesn't. And that the numbers didn't ad up, but they do. If the throw is to short, that's a different story and like most things individual. Personally I prefer a short throw to a long any day of the week because it lets me make nice and smooth focus pulls compared to something like the Yeydra which would be shaky and wobbly in my hands. We simply have different ways of shooting and should choose the tool that suites us best. I've used the Panasonic 20mm f1.7 on the BMPCC more than most and I prefer the Oly 17mm with a huge margin. I highly recommend both but the 17mm is a better fit imo. PS. focus breathing is probably at the bottom three of things I don't care about. Never met a normal viewer that would ever notice.
  6. Even on camera forums Casey is sometimes used as an argument, "if its good enough for him..". And he obviously knows how to vlogg. Almost every channel I know has turned to his style of editing and mixing music. So Im not at all surprised that he is an influencer on gear as well.
  7. The solution is simple. A smartphone that lets you shoot landscape while holding it vertically. Because Im sorry, even after all my years of making videos. If I decided to document something with my phone, its gonna be vertically (If I have the opportunity to hold it with both hands and shoot in landscape I might as well bring out my real camera.)
  8. Its slightly above the cheaper once that pop up on the used market. But since its from a store that probably gives warranty it looks like a decent deal imo. Great camera. Latest TV commercial my company made was shot on one and so will the next. Its still relevant imo.
  9. Im still very happy with the non subscription version of Lightroom. Works a treat. But Capture One is great and I have that for the Ricoh. Its not as fast for me but it always delivers nicer images than Lightroom. I can never replicate what I get in CO using LR. So when the non subscription version of Lightroom doesn't cut it anymore I won't get a subscription. I will just jump ship completely.
  10. This is of course a crop of a much larger image and the bicycle is supposed to be the main subject.
  11. Turns out the 7artisans 50mm Im testing has a bit of the sought after soap bubble bokeh thing going on.
  12. I hear you. There is a huge place for DSLRs that mirrorless haven't been able to fill. DSLRs are still outselling mirrorless to consumers and on the pro scene its still the standard. BTW, this thread inspired me to do a video on the topic. I'm starting to get all DSLR nostalgic. Enough, its not my fault you choose to be a negative nancy instead. I wont debate this with you.
  13. Some see problems others see solutions.
  14. The you need to buy it on craigslist for $400 Cant you use eBay or is shipping internationally not working in Vietnam?
  15. @jonpais sorry about that. Never knew they made a new one since the old has been rebadged as an "art" lens. Then I have no idea
  16. Then you need to work on your buying/selling skills I switch systems all the time and make sure to turn profit on most of the lenses. No you make money. It all depends on what you paid for them in the first place.
  17. I dont think many woul say the old Sigma 30mm f1.4 is Clinical. It has always been criticized by the chart people and loved by others for its character. It was my first "expensive" prime and lived on my t3i. Some of Sigmas newer lenses can be a tad sharp but Im very happy with the 18-35/1.8 and 50-100/1.8 combo.
  18. We're just gonna have to agree to disagree
  19. I think the backgrounds look just like they do with glass like the Canon L or Fuji 56mm on APS-C. It has that aps-c look imo. And that is not terrible at all. It looks great imo. What it laks to my eye is sharpness or a bit of Leica softness. Its stuck in between.
  20. I got a review unit of the 7artisan 50mm f1.1 lens. As a Leica-M mount its of course usable on Sony, Fuji, m4/3 and it covers full frame. Is it the sharpest lens out there? Nope. Is it as expensive as f1.2-0.95 usually are? Definitely no. For video users it might be interesting to know that the aperture has no clicks or steps (personally I would have wanted that). The focus is super smooth. But also, has a nice throw. A lot of lenses these days have a 2m mark and then infinity. This has a 3, a 5 and an 8m mark. Which is very handy for zone focus as well as making video focus pulls easier. I have only used it really quickly while I was picking up my lunch. So the the samples leaves a bit to be desired. They are all from the X-t20 at f1.1 because.. you know.. why not Remember to click the image twice to see how it really looks.
  21. A backup X70 gives you 1/4000 flash sync speed at 28mm eq. Could be an option. Otherwise, bracket.
  22. They probably used the space in the a99ii for the mirror.
