  1. This makes you a camera guy imo. Not accepting other's opinions. Calling people stupid for not sharing your personal preferences. Stating that your preferences of ISO noise is truth and others aren't allowed to disagree. Sorry but no creator does that and definitely no photograper. You can make fun of me all you want. Unlike you Ive just stated a humble opinion
  2. Im hoping to shoot my first share worthy images today. Right now its postponed due to rain. But like I said earlier, the DP3Q Macro is a welcome feature
  3. I have never insulted or even said anything remotely negative about your lenses. I have only mention them once (the post you just read) and that was 100% positive. Winning sharpness measuring lab tests is a bad thing imo. Thats why Leicas are so expensive and magical.
  4. It is down right shocking to me that youve missed all those discussions on this forum given that you are a mod. But then you are lucky, stay out of it and be happy.
  5. Yes it is. You can never say that a higher resolution is always better than a low. Because we know for a fact that people like both. DR.. some prefer a contrasty look. Sharpness can make an image both beautiful and ugly (just look at your new lenses. They do not win any sharpness measuring contests, but you still like them). This list goes on and on. Name one variable and I will find you people that prefer both sides of a scale. IQ is a subjective feeling. Not a measurable fact. Understanding this is one of the things that separates a creator from a "guy with a camera" imo.
  6. Wow, only 80%.. and people have said "film is dead" for at least five years now. Clearly its not. Last year it was close to 50%. Not exactly dead... Oh well.
  7. I edited some HD X-T20 footage yesterday and it looked just great. 4K is just going to be a bonus.
  8. That makes just as much sense as asking a computer to calculate what ice cream flavour that is the "best".
  9. Honestly buying a second hand Full Frame, that is not a recent model, beside for your ego, is pointless when you can have an m4/3 for 2k usd new. m4/3 glass is much more advanced and competitive and you can get a more shallow dof for most focal if it s what you are after. The compression things is not accurate, its only relative to your camera to subject distance, you can make the same image on any format, just the dof change. The only advantage is the image ratio if you don t like m4/3,and mayyyyyybbbeee if you shoot landscape and want to close the iris a lot because of the circle of confusion ( but CMOS sensor get noisy on long exposure anyway) but in term of functionality those cameras are dinosaurs, I had a Sony A7sii, I had a fun time with it, but I traded it for a m4/3 and never looked back. If you want an interesting look, shoot polaroid, instax and packfilm... ... or learn to separate your personal preferences from facts. Image quality is not measurable. Specs don't mean jack. No camera in the history of the world is factually "better" than another camera. It depends on the user and is always subjective.
  10. I have never had any issues with BMD-log, Red-log, C-log, J-log, any log really. Accept S-Log. I can use it but it takes much longer. Maybe one do need to spend fifty times longer learning it. But that sounds like really bad log in my ears. To me it sounds just like when people defend Sonys weird white balance with having to learn it... thats like having to learn how to remove the lens cap. A simple and fundamental function that is super easy on all other cameras... Nah.. it sucks imo. Just badly done. And I know some will be tempted to say that its me that sucks.. dont bother. If I can set a perfect WB on any camera in the world but sometimes struggle on the Sony, it sure isn't me that needs tweeking.
  11. I have done some testing around the house and garden with the DP3Q and the colors and details are just out of this world. Much better than I got with the SDQ due to the awesome 50mm lens. Its Macro capabilities is very fun and welcome as well. I knew it would wipe the floor detail wise with the other high mp cameras that I have had/have. But that it would be this much clearer not only in tonality.. I'm blown. AF is pretty good to. Better than excepted but still slow of course compared to a a6000 or something. Focus ring is very smooth. Screen is nice. Grip is.. there... at least I will hopefully have some interesting samples to post soon.
  12. Weird. I never got any banding in blue skies. Clog looked nothing but great imo.
  13. A great article Andrew. Enjoyed it ever much. Specially after I had seen this and was starting to plan a bank job...
  14. Did a quick search in Sweden just for fun. 10 stores/chains have the A9 on their repertoire. 7 of them have them in stock for pickup today. Scandinavian Photo shows how many cameras they have and it was 9 Only 2 of their stores doesn't have one for sale in house, just demos.
  15. Yup, and I doubt it will happen soon. But I had fun using my Fuji
  16. Not agains the D40 but I can test against film. I have Portra, Ektar, Fujicolor, Slidefilm, Kodak Motion Picture (cinestill), Polaroid, Instax and a whole candy bag of different B&Ws
  17. Yey, just got confirmation that my DP3 reached my post office. Now I just hope that I have time to go get it today
  18. I covered the European Championships in horse racing, jumping, dressage, etc. A full week. Among the pro shooters there where 1 using mirrorless. Me. All others had Canon. I walked around the whole arena and spotted maybe 5 Nikon. The rest was Canon. 0 Sony. 0 Panasonic. Among the friends and family of the riders, their coaches, etc there where some others. 1 Olympus, 3-4 Panasonic. And surprisingly at least 5 DJI Osimo or what ever its called.. And I understand them 100%. My Fuji X-Pro2 and X-T20 worked perfectly to capture the action. But that is because I know where the horses will be. Where they will turn, jump and so on. But these guys and gals (lots of women pro photographers among horses) might have to capture a soccer game tomorrow. And then the tracking of my Fuji wouldn't cut it. I worked covering the veterinarians and have not need for fast action.
  19. You should, let me know if you ever are in Stockholm and we can go street shooting. Let me know a week or so beforehand and I will try to hook you up on the used market. Depending on what you want that is. Some stuff isn't as cheap. Luckily mirrorless is where the big bargains are at here Here is a "test". Leica Q and the Leica M9 + Voigtländer 28mm Ultron. Almost two years separating them, not the same weather, grade, etc. Both are cropped but still very sharp and loads of detail. (you have to click on the to see the full resolution.)
  20. According to my own extensive testing which consists of +200 YouTube uploads the answer is, yes.
  21. Blocket is still the best. Many ship to Norway including the store I bought from, Scandinavian Photo. I thought they had a store in Oslo already?
  22. Lately the asking price is k24SEK. There was one yesterday. You could probably get it a bit lower with regular hassling. Mine was in a store with warranty for k25SEK which is exactly double the amount I got when I sold my X100f.
  23. No it just costs the ability to sleep over promoting sexual assaults on kids. But honestly, I don't want to have this discussion because its just going to go nowhere fast. If I could ever find an A7rii that cheap I would give it a go. Ive only seen them for more than a used Q costs. And thats body only.
