I couldn't find the original 6Dii thread. But I've seen a lot of interest in cameras here for vlogging lately. And I was watching this video and it wasn't until the end I first noticed that they weren't using the XC-10 as much as they used to. And I just figured it was the GH5 or something. Turned out it was the 6D. Looks good enough for vlog to my eye. And this is the Nikon Fanboy #1 shooting.

Agreed. That 16mm is cool for sure get on that adapter!

That place used to be cool. The comments on the page and their facebook have been so toxic lately that there imo is absolutely no point in having any sort of discussion there. There is not one single article, about anything that's not met with nothing but hate. It could be an article about world peace and everyone gets mad and want war. No moderation. At least the articles where decent imo. And then they started to slip, click bait, bad fact checking and so on. The latest example was the success story that Leica has gone so far into the green that the investor that holds a minority share of 45% is ready to make a return and become rich. Some bogus bloggers made up a story about it and that's what NOFS is reporting. Not the original content from a credible news agency. They are actually speculating that a bank selling a share with no money passing through Leica would "save" a very profitable an growing company... sigh. And that's just one example. Normally I don't get to upset but I actually liked NOFS. I thought it was a great blog. But lately.. I don't know. There still is alot good stuff and fascinating articles. Forums have been on a steady decline for a few years. The whole positive video movement is long dead imo. But there at least was the blogs and this forum is still on the up-n-up if you ask me. I don't really know what my point is, just venting. Lately I have accepted that its mostly just the "Ass-Burgers" left online (wrote a blog about that a year or so ago). The pros and artists are out shooting and the rest have moved on to other hobbies. This blog and forum I think is the only place where creativity and art can coexist with the charts people. But its a battle, I see the scene in 300 where they are pushing them out of the passage with their shields. Sorry for the rambling. Like I said, just venting. Stay strong

Where does it say that they have expanded to the Apple Store? I can start taking preorders for the Raven if I like. It doesn't mean that Red has expanded to me. It means Im a retailer.

It definitely does imo. Their stuff is very solid. Like really solid.

Ive always been very happy with the Edelkrone. Can just leave it permanently on the tripod. And like all their products its a solid build.

"Leica’s new TL2 is a much improved mirrorless camera"
Mattias Burling replied to Chris Oh's topic in Cameras
This is what you said. So, what other modern and cheaper range finder that doesn't drift or who's manufacturer has faster service are you comparing to? I know you don't mean Sony sine their customer service is the worst in the universe and they don't make range finders. And since getting a range finder adjustment is like changing spark plugs on a car. Something simple that can be done in almost any camera repair shop in a few hours. I guess the brand you are talking about should be able to fix things quicker. Also this magical brand will have no critics and bug reports if I google like you did. So which is this super brand that gets everything right and has blazing turn around? PS. rhetorical question and I won't read your smart response. I think I will end this conversation with a very common conclusion of random Leica haters. You have never tried the TL2 and you have never owned any other Leica. You don't know what you are talking about you just want to ventilate some built up jealousy. I also suspect that you don't "get" photography as an art and you base your knowledge on numbers and charts. Im Out. -
2K looks nice on 20m. On another note, TV broadcasters have always been more interested in color depth and dynamic range In HD over 4K. Among many cinematographers and still photographers its pretty well known that good lighting can make an image appear way sharper than resolution. Resolution is only good for lab tests. Same with those crazy lens sharts. An image from a lens with a technically low score can be sharper and more alive than an image from a high scoring lens. Specs still don't mean jack.

Fuji X-E3 is 99% confirmed to have 4K. Apart from the EVF only its pretty much an X100F with interchangeable lenses. Could be an interesting option.

Still waiting on you to tell me which modern, non drifting and now also cheaper range finder you are comparing to? Because I know of none. -

Ive switched from the XT2 to the Xpro2 which is nice. But since rebuying the Leica T it gets very little use. If you use one and "get it" instead of trying to fight it the results are amazing. And its a pleasure to use. My X-pro2 is now for sale if anyone is interested Btw, I shot a side by side and the 24mp vs 16mp isnt enough for the Fuji XF 23mm WR to outshine the Leica 23mm. It really is like Torsten Overgaard says. Sharpness is so much more than what a number in a lab can show you. At the end of the day, specs doesn't mean jack.. it seems we can never be reminded of this enough. I know I keep forgetting it Yeah two hours at the local shop is such a long wait... we all know Sony support is stellar... lol! BTW, what non drifting modern range finders are you comparing to? Because I know of none. -
Nikon D850 development with 8K timelapse officially announced.

If, and that is a big IF, the d850 gets that viewfinder there will be a shortage of hats for a while. No crop in UHD sounds nice. https://nikonrumors.com/2017/07/27/the-nikon-d850-will-be-capable-of-4k-uhd-video-in-fx-format-with-no-crop.aspx/ "This is what we know about the D850 so far based on my initial reports from May andJune and some new information: 45-46MP full frame CMOS sensor Improved low and high ISO New and improved version of SnapBridge No built-in GPS Tiltable LCD screen just like the D750 and D500 Memory card slots: one SD and one XQD AF system from the D5 No built-in flash (from the teaser picture) Back illuminated buttons (from leaked pictures) Joystick selector (from leaked pictures) Built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (from leaked pictures) 8K time-lapse video capabilities (from promo video) New: the D850 will be on display at the Photo+ Expo in October New: touchscreen New: 4k UHD video in FX format (with no crop) Here are the "big" unanswered questions I have so far - I hope that with this post, I will get some tips from people in the know (use the contact form): Fps rate - I was told different numbers here, including 8fps which is a bit high in my opinion. EVF/hybrid viewfinder - everything so far is pure speculation based on thedesign of the D850 pentaprism and previous Nikon hybrid viewfinder patents accompanied by some catchy headlines online with exclamation points. I know that "hybrid viewfinder" headlines bait a lot of clicks, but as of today, I have no reason to believe the D850 will have such technology. If something changes, I will do a post asap. This is how I have been operating for over 10 years and I will not change it now just because somebody on the Internet says so. Release date Price" -

I like getting problems fixed. Not like today with for example Sony that rather release a new camera than fix the one they had. I thought that was a m4/3 lens? -

Yup, but it wasn't supposed not to have it, how weird that might sound. Lots of cameras have it. Even some types of film. -

I wish all brands where like Blackmagic and Leica. When there is a problem, get on it and get it done fast. Firmware 1.1 fixes the EVF issue. http://gmpphoto.blogspot.se/2017/07/leica-fixes-tl2-evf-issue-with-firmware.html Its like when they gave out free IR Cut filters (expensive models as well) and have been replacing sensors for free on all M9 and M-Es. even for those that bought them used. BMD fixed the white orbs and black hole in the BMPCC in what, less than two weeks. Pansony, Canikon and Fuji could learns something here imo. -
Yeah the grip on the xt20 and xt2 as well suck balls imo. Very unbalanced cameras. Stabilization is no biggie for video imo. I refer to the same family video as you and say it showes that its not needed Different tastes and tolerance. Im buying a XT20 for work hopefully next week. Im sure I can borrow it for some personal testing at home as well.

Actually me and two friends thats won a couple of short film competitions together have wrote a black comedy thriller that takes place in that house during a dark Swedish winter. We where gonna shoot it two years ago but Gunpowder needed knee surgery at the time (she is in the movie of course). Last winter we just never got around to it. Yes ive used the slr 17mm, on the bmpcc. Its nice but the Oly would cover me for stills as well.
-
Yup, that's why I said that he should try it first. Because the ibis on the A7ii isn't very good at all and the video is very disappointing compared to the original A7 and the A7s imo. It was just friendly advice and I would feel pretty bad for not pointing it out.
-
I posted a screenshot from the LS300 and the Oly 17mm somewhere and it might be somewhere in one of my videos as well. Just cant remember. This is shot in full auto with the Pen-F and "graded" in camera with a bunch of presets and toy filters Maybe not showing the best of the lens.. but still. BTW, regarding the A7ii. I really think you should try it first. Because the video on it if using slog is actually worse than the video from the original A7. There is so low detail that I think it might start to bother you. And how much where you planning on buying it for? Here the A7ii goes pretty close to the X-T20 with the stabilized zoom. Imo, between A7ii and the X-T20 the later is a no brainer for both video and stills.
-
85inch is pretty tiny compared to a movie screen. And the content has been ready for that since the 20ths.
-
Ive had both the A7 and A7ii. I prefer the original. Nicer buttons and the ibis isnt really worth it imo.
-
Yes it has the clutch. Its a bit loose, not voigtlander smooth. More like a Sigma or something. But usable. Its a great street lens since you can zone focus. An old pic I took with the GX7 and Oly 17mm.
-
The manual focus stops are the killer feature for me.
-
Olympus 17/1.8 and 45/1.8. This is all I ever need on a m4/3 system. So great and so sharp. Affordable to.
-
And it of course depends on the content. If I want to be on the local news reserve list they will demand that I have a camera that live up to their standards. If Im a regular dude that calls them and say I have footage of Donald Trump making out with a cow.. then it could be shot on super-8 for all they care. And everything in between.
