  1. I'm not sure who did this first. Panasonic did it with the GH5 but I have a vague memory of Fuji doing the same, but might be mistaken. Its the newest thing I guess. Build the hype early and get people on forums and such to say what they want in it. They get free pols, target groups, data, etc. A lot of money saved in market research. And it might slow down the sales of for example the A9 since many like to "wait for the next model before deciding". Pretty smart imo. And kinda nice. I would love to get an official confirmation of a Fuji X70s or a Ricoh GRiii as early as possible.
  2. The camera is great for sure. Quality control of the shutter, not so much.
  3. I think Nikons biggest issue right now is having to recall the D750 for the third time... ouch.
  4. How does that matter? Is it somehow less convenient to loose your camera later? Either way, xpro2, xt2, x100f, a6300, a6500, BMCC, BMPC4K, BMPCC, NX1, D750, etc, etc... .. no worries.
  5. That picture is what, ten years old and with a Panasonic camera... Any who, xpro2, xt2, x100f, a6300, a6500, BMCC, BMPC4K, BMPCC, NX1, D750, etc, etc are all cameras with some child deceased. The BMCC was the most hated camera online. And we all know how that went. In other words, calm down The biggest fail this week is the Nikon D750 that are being called back, after what, 2 years of public testing...
  6. The original T has the same touch interface. Its awesome btw.
  7. Not all screens are equal... And for 90% of my manual focus shooting I dont use the screen for focusing. I already know whats in focus. And there is a viewfinder if one really wants it.
  8. Well, over a year later I went to the store to buy the X-T20. Came out with the X-T2. A few weeks later I switched to the X-Pro. There is also a little tiny bit of a video sample from the X-Pro2 in there. But in the full review I will definitely have more, because Im really impresses. Within its limitations.
  9. This. You splendidly put my thoughts into writing.
  10. I know big popular reviewers aren't very liked by many here (I like them). But Steve did touch base on alot of what we are talking about in this thread. And I definitely agree with the "buy with your heart" philosophy.
  11. The cm1 feels nice in the hand. They should put two small, flush program wheels like on the Leica T. Its big for a smartphone but not unbearable.
  12. Not first hand, but after discussing it with a friend who has it and who's opinion I trust, I seriously have to fight the urge. Wouldn't mind that focus scale either. Hopefully it doesn't drift like the 23/2 WR does on the xpro.
  13. No its was two dudes. But they had a lot of cool guests, mostly photographers.
  14. I made a quick comparison between the Fuji XF 50mm f2.0 WR and the 56mm f1.2. The AF is faster on the 50 but surprisingly the 56mm is better for video AF. At least in my test. But since I never used the AF for video before that, nor since, I don't know for other situations. Any who, both lenses are great.
  15. In Sweden we have had a recent rise in photography. There have even been a show on TV for every day photography. It went for two seasons on the biggest channel with two of the most famous comedians we have as hosts. So there is a photo boom for sure. In Stockholm there are several shops still keeping shelves full with later stuff. But also a few spread in the other three "bigger" citys. There are also two big stores with everything imaginable in analog photography as well. All of them of course have the internet as their main market for nation wide sales. But Im also extremely lucky. I live in a smaller town (fifth in swe). Here we used to have two but they went bust. Luckily one of them resurrected. And the guys running it have been smart. They focus on a lab for development and prints. Signs, frames, etc. And they seem to be doing alright. They also carry a lot of optics for bird watchers. Their camera display is small but excellent. If I go down there now I sure I will se an E-M1ii, X100f, Pentax K1, X-T2 and a GH5. In other words they carry the latest and greatest. On top of that they have some low end entry level. No middle of the road stuff. And only one or two of each. No online store, thats why sold out stuff still can be found there. They also carry Instax, Lomography and Polaroid. I shop there as much as I can. I love supporting them and hanging out for a while talking photo. I bought the Pen-f, X-T2, a6300, lomoinstax, two tripods, loads of film and the GX85 there. And I will comeback in hopes of sustaining them as long as possible... knock on wood.
  16. My 2016 APS-C is so noisy at 400 its unbearable. Are you saying that that no m4/3 or the rx100 can't beat that? Of course your not. All Im saying is that it isn't that black and white. It all depends on this and that. Thats why saying all big sensors have better lowlight is such a pointless argument imo. But we have already covered this and started going in cirkles. I will back out slowly.
  17. Sometimes I also notice the difference when I need to stop down a large sensor to get the same DOF as the m4/3. Which results in a darker image and the large sensor is already at max ISO. The shutter is of course fixed. So a m4/3 can definitely have better lowlight in certain situations.
  18. Like I said, it isnt real life and one cant simply say, all big sensors have better iso than smaller. But either way its not a fact at all, even with same generations. My old 2013 GM1 kills my APSC from 2016. So already the rule goes out the window. The whole thing is absolutely pointless for me as a creator. Again, imo, sensor size is borderline irrelevant. I look at the camera and how I can use it.
  19. Cool, in the second it was for time lapse photos and the hangglider. Will watch the third episode now.
  20. Dont do this to me.. I loved my Leica T more than any other mirrorless camera Ive had... I must buy this. It pains me when the original T can be had for very little. I guess my time with the xpro2 will be as short as the xt2.. it never ends. Damn you G.A.S!!!
  21. Which isn't happening in real life. At the en of the day there are m4/3 cameras that beat full frame in lowlight and ISO. And vice versa. I only look at individual cameras and what they can do. Sensor size is borderline irrelevant.
  22. I think the one in PE2 is called Southern Bullers Albatross. This is how it looks.
