  1. Probably no software involved @jonpais. My guess he/she is one of these tupe fellows.
  2. Thanks @Kubrickian. Your Insta looks cool, I will follow. The x70 is a total gem and the only clear rival to the GRii. But they are very close imo. If the X70 gets a full press snap function or the GR a flip screen, then we imo will have the ultimate street shooter for candids.
  3. Camera companies are going down and we haven't seen the last of it. At least one of the big brands has to go. So its only natural some of the card companies does to.
  4. Cool, Fuji images definitely have some mojo in them. I hope (know) you will enjoy it. And so far I like the old 16mp sensor more than the new 20-something that sits in my XT2. The even older 12mp is cool as well. But the 56mm I unboxed yesterday gave it new look Hopefully I will get an email today from a fellow interested in swapping his X-Pro2 for my X-T2. Would be a deadly combo with the 56mm. Fingers crossed
  5. I guess, but you can still use modern Nikon lenses and control the aperture even if they don't have an aperture ring. That includes the Sigma 18-35/1.8 in Nikon mount. Unfortunately you wont get stabilization.
  6. The dog is kicking it in the summer sun
  7. Ex2, xt10, xt1 and xpro1 all cost about the same used. The only one I personally dislike is the xt10, purley for the grip. Its a very unbalanced camera as soon as you put on a nice lens. I couldn't keep it. The EX2 is basically a x100t with interchangeable lenses. In other words pretty nice.
  8. All I know for sure is that both look stellar. My guess is that they are identical.
  9. EDIT: I was informed that the histogram was fixed already. So Im updating my camera. It seems they have somewhat fixed another thing I thought was very disappointing. The camera isn't very customizable. You can't sign very much functions to buttons, which is a total bummer when you are used to that (GRii). But they have given a few options for it in firmware. But it could be so much better imo...
  10. No kidding, happy day for me. Will update. Then I can start hoping for the ability to customize more buttons. Im a bit disappointed in that so far.
  11. Size and less interference with cables, cage, etc. And for street shooting a flip screen is awesome. People think you are fiddling with a menu while taking their picture. A fully articulated is more "Hey look at me, I have a camera!"
  12. If we look at the past they have always been in the forefront of giving great firmware updates. It seems at least Panasonic have finally started learning from companies like Leica. But Fuji have been doing it for a while now. So one can stay optimistic. Im hoping for histogram in video mode.
  13. I have it and will probably make some sort of review. The controls are nice, I don't consider them "retro". Instead I think of them as forward thinking and made to make it easier for the operator instead of fiddly buttons and wheels like a "normal" camera. The lower collars however aren't very good imo. The video is really nice. Its a bit of a shame that the histogram disappears in video mode. Toggling the drive collar is a workaround but I hope it will be fixed in the next firmware. The display and evf are decent. Nothing ground breaking accept for the portrait tilt function. Personally I love having just a flip instead of a fully articulated. If it had that I would never have bought it. Battery life suck balls. The grip is ok. At least better than the X-T20. I straight out hate the XT20 grip. But the X-T2 still needs a case or third party grip for my hands. Overall I like the camera but Im considering making a jump to a X-Pro1 or 2. Or even the X-T20. Since I already have lenses for Fuji. My advice is to think long and hard about the few extra features that separates the X-T2 from the X-T20. Do you really "need" them... And if its just for stills I wouldn't get any of them when the XT1, XT10 and XP1 are so cheap. For hobby use at least. Im debating buying a XT20 (or g80) for work so that might give me some more insight.
  14. That looks pretty darn epic @kidzrevil! Me on the other hand is at home celebrating midsummer instead of shooting the streets. But I did adjust one of my Minolta lenses that had trouble reaching infinity, and thought it could be nice to document incase others get the same issue in the future.
  15. Ive been eyeballing the a77ii for quite some time and all this talk about the A99 is pushing me towards the edge...
  16. Lucky then that the DP1, DP1s, DP2, DP0/1/2/3 Quattro, SD/H Quattro and a few others all work in Lightroom The 150MB native DNGs my SDQ spits out... yummy..
  17. I know its an old argument but its true. Hard core stills shooters are happy when they don't get excessive video features. Rational, no. Smart, maybe not. But they are the important target audience with the cash. They are the buyers of a 6D. So what they say goes Its just that "DSLR". Just the very word doesn't say "video" to me any more. If they have it its great. The D750 is nice and so is the 5Dmkiii. But its just bonus imo. And when a used C100 is what, sub $2K and a BMPCC is a case of beers or something.. why not get a proper video camera. Like I said, I get it, its nice to have both. "Nice" not "Need" for me personally. I will shoot a lot of video this summer for work so I will probably have enough of it. Maybe this fall The T is pure love. Ive seen a cheap one in Sweden again and was offered a TL from a camera store that they would sell me without profit just for karma... But the XT2 and my fall into the Sigma Foveon rabbit hole... I need to hold off for a wile. I will get it again... some day I feel you. I don't mind using stuff out in public (Robbery isn't that common around my parts) but the weight of some cameras... They are shooting a workplace reality show where I work for TV broadcast, think American Chopper or something like that. The crew consists of a director with a monitor that also does audio for syncs. A producer that does this and that. A camera man with a Sony F5 and an Easy Rig for handheld (its mostly handheld). They also have a drone. At first I thought, "thats a nice setup". Easy to lug around, nice image, stable camera, all you need. And then I was asked if I wanted to play with it for a while.... the weight sucked absolute mega balls. Never knew how heavy that thing is. A rigged F5 or a Red One MX = Tomato, tomato Not imo. BTW, didn't a lot of video people ridicule Canon when they put in an articulating screen that didn't interfere with the mic- and headphone jack? You know that thing that pissed you of every time you used your GH3 or G7 or what have you. That was a huuuuge feature that actually makes a difference when shooting video. My point being. Sure many buy Canons because its a known brand that they feel secure with. But there is also a lot of bashing of Canon in here just because its Canon. People can almost pee their pants in anger over a feature and then praise Panasonic if they do the same thing.
  18. It might just be me but it sounds like alot to ask for imo. Its like asking Apple to include a tripod with the iPhone or that the C200 should include an external flash just because it can capture jpeg frames. Its a DSLR not a video camera. And Im not a video camera shooter per say. My XT2 is my only personal video camera and Im greatfull for its 4K. But I would have liked it at HD. And I would consider without any video at all. (Im debating switching it for an Xpro-2. Or sell it all together and just use my SD Quattro which has no video at all and get a video camera for video.)
  19. Yup, that's what I do on my personal channel. Then I never screw up the script/read and it saves me aloooot of time. But I don't recommend laziness, efficiency is the word
  20. - How do you speak free on camera? Do you memorize a script or is it completely free? Script is the way to go unless you feel very relaxed. Use cue cards and don't worry to much about jump cuts. There are ways to use them as an effect. Look at Ray William Johnson's old stuff or I'm sure many here can link to others that use it successfully. - How do you feel when you see you on the video? I feel terrible. Seeing one self and hearing once voice is always uncomfortable. I've worked a lot in live broadcast radio and I can speak for many when I say that the feeling never goes away (exceptions to confirm the rule of course exists). Just try to ignore it. - What is the biggest positive thing initiate by your channel? My personal channel is just a hobby and for fun, I don't even really try to make it grow. But still it tends to do so and has opened some doors for fun projects and real work. I work a lot in social media professionally and there youtube has lead to profit, market awareness, etc, etc. Its a channel and an outlet for communication with a wide reach. - Do you have some tips for me how i can start my channel? Allow yourself to fail, don't skimp on the audio, remember that content is king.
  21. (IMO) I cant believe we are still having this discussion. Canon is the number one best selling camera company. They haven't forgotten to put in 4K. Nor made a non thinking decision. Or because of conservatism. Or any of the other hundreds of reasons we will see on forums across the world. They have made the decision based on MONEY! They have spent lots of time, research, endless meetings, focus groups, analyzed data, you know... all that stuff that people in forums have absolutely not done. And based on their findings they have made a decision. So far they have been right every single time. No matter what Panasony puts in their cameras Canon is still outselling them. And if that wasn't enough. This is the 6D... its always been their sub 5D model... And its an awesome stills camera. Aimed at the people out there who actually buys cameras.. stills shooters. Now if they would have put 4K video and IBIS in their 6D. Driven the cost to the same level or at least to close to the 5D. And scared of the biggest bulk of the camera buying target group, who actually quite often gets mad about having to pay for video features... Well that would have been truly stupid. But whats most supricing of all. This happens every single time. They are not now nor ever going to release a stills camera that will wow the video crowd. So just let it go. Its the same thing when all the whining about Blackmagic delays are rolling the interent. Even though its how they do it every single time.
  22. I have also lived in America. But that doesn't matter or have anything to do with it. You are missing that everything Ive said is about ONLINE offers and what online forums and blogs write. And most of all, Im talking about GLOBAL offers and global information. America isn't the only country in the world that has photography blogs and photographers. And to my knowledge most camera manufacturers aren't even American. So no, I have just as much insight as you. And I stand by my opinion that "refurbished" deals are a bit of a scam. You of course dont have to like it or agree with me, dont care. Like I said earlier, just needed to vent something thats been bugging me. I dont see how a thats a bad thing unless you are B&H employee or something and feel offended. I will leave this conversation now since the thread derailed a long time ago. And I suspect we are closing in on the regular name calling and smart oneliner remarks (I wont return to read them) that seem to be killing most discussions lately. Have a good day.
  23. Great looking frames. This reminds me that I have a Black Pro Mist from the BMPC4K days left. Might give it a spinn on the XT2.
