You guys are surprised about the xc15? Why? You already knew this. Its a xx5 update. Usually that means an SDI port and nothing else. And now its all of a sudden a surprise. Find it strange. As I see it the audio port was all it should have gotten. Waveform is a huge bonus. I don't know anymore. People get happy, angry and sad over weird features these days. Same when a new camera (forgot which) had moved the mic jack away from the screen. People where upset even though it's a massive deal. It makes rotating screens actually rotatable. And instead they go apeshit over some bogus feature. I mean I get it. I got as much G.A.S as the next guy. But Im not emotional and I don't get all psychotic demanding this and that for free, calling people idiots or lay awake at night because of a frame rate. This whole looking at gear and hanging out on forums is imo supposed to be fun and relaxing. Don't get heart attacks over it. Bcause at the end of the day its just meaningless and stupid cameras. And professionally none of us "need" anything that isn't already out there to do our job.

If you think Dynamic Range is nonsense and you can't see the difference between your nx1 and your phone, then no, you don't get it.

Those things all sound like something that would be in a new model. This however is likely just a xx5 version. So you are going to have to have some patience. (Its been said already, compare the xa20/25, xa30/35, xf100/105, xf200/205)

No problems with C/Y on the EF. Dont have the Red any more. Pretty sad about it, its the nicest s35 image I know.

A handle would be killer. I remember being a tiny bit surprised that there wasn't one for the original xc10. This just got very interesting.

Well said John. Had similar feelings in the 5Div and xc15 threads where people say it should have this and that at no cost. Many don't seem to realize that huge companies like Canon has loads of engineers thats already thought about every single thing the negative nanceies go on about. They have decided to leave things out for a reason. And the reason is not that they are "idiots", " conservative" or what have you.

I would by happier with one than two if I can still use the 3.5mm. One for ambient and one for shotgun/lav. Never happened to me and I always hold my camera upside down between shots. On drones maybe.

Sounds like you need to raise your bar (pun not intended) of acceptable research.

Many seem happy with 8-bit C100/C100ii. 10-Bit is nice but not an end all spec for everyone. I might get a GH5 for sure but it probably wont have built in NDs, camcorder form factor, dual phantom powered XLRs, etc, etc. Many get the FS7 for an all in one + slowmo and don't necessarily care about the 10-bit. Also a big chance (imo) that the 10-bit GH5 is just in HD and the 4K is 8-bit 4:2:2. The LS also has 4K 4:2:2

Its done as in recorded and ready. Just never seem to have time to edit and do the voice over. But yes. Its a very good camera. I would say its for those that want a C300ii or FS7 but cant afford it. Or because you want one of the many LS300 features those two camera don't have.

Im with you on all that. XC15 will probably be to the XC10 what the XA35 is to the XA30 (Or xf200/xf205). Also believe IBC makes more sense.

Yes its still great under controlled conditions. Some issues but they where fixed in firmware. Black sun is still there but an easy fix in Resolve with a dedicated function for it. No, its an EF mount so their will be no speedboosters. You could say that its already boosted with the pretty large s35 sensor. (with that said, I would absolutely love it in MFT mount since I tested enough lenses on the LS300 to know that s35 + MFT = Perfect)

Sure they would. I know I would. I would love a 10-2000mm f0.95 small as a coffey mug But I wouldn't trade a constant aperture and parfocal 24-70/4, 24-240/5.6 and 24/2.8 all in one for a 24-200/2.8 if it meant loosing not only the reach. But also the 5 axis stabilization, loosing the parfocalness and being twice or three times the size rendering the camera unbalanced? And probably way more expensive as well. There is a reason I don't run-n-gun with a 18-35/1.8 and 24-70/2.8 IS as much as I would with the 24-105/4 IS (or 24-120/4 VR if its on a Nikon). I would skip the extra stop if it gave me a smaller, lighter, cheaper, constant aperture, parfocal lens with better IS. Specially on a camera like this which is truly meant for run-n-gun. IMO, Indy filmmakers, porno, blocked shots is different. But that's not what we are talking about here. Super shallow depth of field, extreme lowlight and so on is not at all relevant when discussing the XC10/15. For those type of things there are way way better cameras. This is more for news gathering type of situations. Most one man band news crews I see and hang out with use the XF100 or XA20. Those are the cameras I compare to.

I liked it a lot. Never had any issues with the lens and would not trade the reach, stabilization or size for only 2 stops at the far end and nothing at the wide. Raising the ISO took care of any lowlight issues. The lens is a 5 axis stabilized, parfocal and constant aperture 24-70/4, 24-240/5.6 and a 24/2.8. All built in to one small lens. I surely hope they don't get rid of that for 2 lousy stops at the far end of a lens sitting in front of a 1" sensor. Would make no sense at all imo.

Maybe so. But my guess is that they cant charge the same as a D500. Its just to much. Then I suspect people would say exactly that, "what? that's as much as a Nikon D500!". The introduction price of the GH4 was less than the introduction price of the XT1 and XT2. And I suspect it will stay that way. (BTW, current retail price of the GH4 is $870. Same as the XT1)

Cool, an XLR is very welcomed imo. Another button or two would have been lovely though. And a stronger ND. The lens was always alraight imo so no prob there. No I haven't. But I was super impressed and totally happy with the old firmwares iso performance.

My guess Its probably gonna match the price of the X-t2. Not many regular Joes would pay more than that when the x-t2 is so feature packed and kinda sexy.

For him it is. And its his opinion he puts out there for people to agree or disagree with. It cant be debated. As I always say. No camera in the world has ever been better than another camera. And that's a fact. Because it all depends on who you ask and their needs, budget, etc. I filmmaker might love an alexa but its shit for a deep sea diver. And vice versa.
