  1. Definitely to much. I passed on one for $1300 with less than 10k clicks and a battery grip.
  2. I was one second from buying a 5D again today. They are now way bellow $1.5k and closing in on $1k. Before I thought they where a good option to the bmpcc/bmmcc. But at these prices I think its even a better option. Full frame Raw with slowmo, long battery, lots of on screen tools, rugged, takes stills, shoots compressed as well, decent audio..... And no Moire! Its a very affordable and powerful Raw cinema camera. The only thing that made me finally pass is that I think it will be even cheaper after the 5Div hits the market. And when it does, me and my $10 m42 prime lenses are waiting
  3. Yeah I think the NX1 and a6300 are close. A bit higher DR on the Sony and less RS on the Samsung. The Sony is half the size but the Samsung half the price. Reliability wise the point goes to Samsung.
  4. Thanks The colors before the dream where a bit more muted since it was raining. After the dream I wanted it a bit more sunny. The dream sequence was shot on film with the Lomokino so no grading there.
  5. Im a bit late to the party and don't know how long I will be staying. But here are some quick shots around the house.
  6. When that happens I try to figure out where its tight and sand that part down a little. There is less play in the BMD mount compared to Oly/Pana.
  7. Well, the CMOS cameras that handle it best is the once with Global Shutters But if we are talking 4K with RS, the Panasonic's are alright and I would say the a6300 is the worst I've used in that respect. But with the 35mm OSS and no pans its totally usable.
  8. Nope, I work as a producer. I don't even own anything digital from Fuji, I do however have about 100rolls of Fujicolor and 1000 feet of 16mm Fuji at all times. But I have shot with Fuji's in the past and really enjoy them. Here on this forum I'm just having a conversation. That does not mean that I work for the company I'm currently discussing. Specially since I said I was likely NOT to get it at this point. People are always free to ignore my posts or suck an egg if they don't like them Kinda like Canon. My theory is that they are holding back a little because releasing overheating cameras and dodgy Log is bad business. Either do it right or not at all.
  9. If you also shoot a lot of stills its a no brainer and super cheap. If you shoot 50/50 its a good deal. Only if you are 100% video is it questionable imo. But then, why buy a stills camera at all. What's currently holding me back is that I'm back to exclusively shooting film for stills. So not sure if I would use the Fuji for stills. And then there is no point in not getting a real videocamera.
  10. Yup, otherwise they would get the same critique as Sony due to the dodgy Log with banding etc.
  11. I would just get a grip, problem solved. Its not like it doesn't give other advantages as well, like I don't know, power Besides, the xt2 might be a tad larger than an xt1. But that's still a very small camera. So a grip won't make it huge.
  12. I would save a little more. Its worth it imo to get rid of the moire. The mkiii has taken quite a plunge on the used market lately and probably will some more if the mkiv is announced this summer.
  13. I think this thread has reminded me why I should ditch the a6300 and go back to a 5D.
  14. Lots of full sensor 1080p cameras have moire. But in general, 4K cameras do pretty well. The NX1 and A7sii had some. The LX100, AX100, BMPC, XC10, etc are clean.
  15. Its their first 4K camera so it can't be known if it has Moire or not. Can't be worse than the A7sii and that's usable.
  16. I guess they don't want to risk avarage Joe seeing it and thinking its unsharp and moody. He probably want high FPS and mega sharp.
  17. We have to remember that every single camera to date always look very "video" on promos. Thats because we are a little minority and the camera companies would never make "filmic" demos. They would loose customers. Regarding the film simulatuons I like them. Just like a LUT they are a great starting point. But more accurate to the cameras colors and saves you time in post. After the lift, gamma, gain is set you are already 80% there. LUTs always needs lots of tweaking.
  18. Imo all the Raw camera I've tried looks great already in Rec709. BMCC included.
  19. The D16 isn't retro, the A7, X-T2, GH4 etc are. They look like old film SLRs. The D16 looks like a Cinema Camera Any who, its all just a shame. Ive seen it happen with other cameras as well. People get hung up on some pseudo thing and it doesn't catch wind. The BMCC and BMPCC did as well. Before the "Fire sale" they where the most hated and talked down cameras on the internet. Totally trashed by reviewers because of their "odd shape" (non retro/DSLR). "Where is the viewfinder", "No stills", "NO bla bla bla". Then the price drop and people actually used them, the rest is history. I just hope we get another cinema camera that is as complete and low cost in the future. Sony, Blackmagic, Red, etc have all failed so far. They can deliver cameras with a good image and some cool features. But not all at once. Luckily time and technology moves on so there will be plenty of cameras to love and hate in the future
  20. IMO, For image quality alone Blackmagic, any day. But a C100ii has the run n gun advantage. An a6300 is nice, I have one, but full of really annoying issues and would gladly trade it for a 5Dmkiii any day. ML Raw is much nicer than the Sony 4K and it has better ergonomics and more video features.
  21. I lowered the colors to isolate the people playing.
  22. There are a couple of Xpro2 clips in the downloads thread. Try it, lots of shadow info.
  23. Here its just a couple of $100 more than a a6300. Good price imo.
  24. Imo the NX1 wasn't to bad. My a6300 on the other hand... Uuugly.
