You act like this isn't a topic you have debated on various forums before this thread. You have failed blind tests in the past, obviously the present and will again in the future. There is nothing wrong or funny about that. What's funny is that you never seem yo accept that peoples needs and preferences are different, debate constantly about 4K, spam threads with talk about canon resolution. And now, at the end of the day, once again, you can't tell the difference. No need to debate, it was funny, that's all.

Yup it is imo the ultimate combination of Stills-, Video- and Cinema Camera currently available. And its very affordable as well (used).

I liked my NX1 more than the A7sii. But in the end I liked the 5Dmkiii with ML Raw better than both of them. The 1DC I had was cheaper than the A7sii but I didn't like it as much as the 5Dmkiii. Also my LS300 cost me less than an A7sii, which basically is a C300ii alternative. My Red One MX also cost way less, but thats not really a Run N Gun camera. If you want to play the waiting game, the upcoming Fujifilm X-T2 might be a killer. Im fighting the urge to buy a X-Pro2 every day, some of the nicest colors Ive ever graded from an 8-bit camera.

Its just funny that you failed at it after the countless posts about how superior 4K is on any screen, how you always can tell, etc. That's all, no problem, just a good laugh.

So you didn't notice the 4K vs HD? I thought you said that you could always tell...

You can detach the zoom and use it closer for interviews, connect a lav to it and put it in the pocket, connect a wireless lav and leave it on the camera, connect any number of wired mics to it, mount it on a boom, etc, etc.

Who cares what it looks like? Just look at the Sony A7, its even bigger than a Nikon d750 with most equivalent lenses. You either have the flange on the camera or lens. That's just how it is. Unless you go all manual like Leica. Speaking of, they could go the Leica T route and have an adapter for old EF. Long story short. Its not a problem for canon to make a FF mirrorless. The problem is to get people to buy it. The 5mkiii is old but still outsell any mirrorless model you throw at it. They want to make money.

The ND throttle adapter as well. Basically all Nikon adapters do.

They can just make it for EF lenses. Easy.

Since they are bott s16 and none of them have shutters, NDs or other stuff in front of the sensor its all good.

IMO x1.7 crop with the SB is close enough.

Sure it's a CCD, that's one of the keys for the Bolex image. Same reason my new M8 looks so lovley

Yup, we had an ice cream outside that very day. Now its may and pretty much summer.

Still not even had time to install the new firmware... and the little time I have for cameras outside of work is being stolen by the M8. But here is some footage. A quick edit of material gathered for a BTS to a friends photo exhibit. As some may know I shoot a lot of analog film, so when he needed a BTS for his Large Format project I was game. He is doing two things, recreating old pictures of his home town. And also takes portraits in the same old stiff ways they did back in the 50s, but in todays environments. In this "draft version" I left in some shakes, zooms and sound for the sake of reviewing the LS300. The final version will be silent, probably B&W and much much longer. (its going to loop on a monitor in the museum) Its shot in HD 4:2:2 using only a Canon 35mm f2.0 IS lens. All closeups etc are done with the marvelous Prime Zoom. It was a good test of something I already knew, the LS300 is a killer Run-n-Gun camera. There was no directing, blocking, or retakes. Everything outside was was done in an hour and I have loads of footage. Like I said, these are just some random shots from the material, I didn't spend more than 10 minutes on grading since its going to be B&W. I might do a short version of the final video and put it on Vimeo later on.

The AF works ok, never use AF but tested it with the 24-105. No, there is no Sony color issue at all IMO. It looks great. I hope they don't. Like you said, Sony has already provided us with really bad 4K so Canon can wait until they can make it good. The Panasony 4K is not better than good HD upscaled imo. To get good 4K you need a big camera with a fan and a high bitrate. That's why there is no 4K bmpcc. C300ii, xc10, ls300, bmpc4k all have cooling. Sony even overheats their smartphones when shooting 4K, deliberately. I don't think Canon is ever going to release something that's half ass. And if you ask me, 4K is still just a little feature like 120p or an extra battery. Some cameras have it, some don't. Its a minimum of 10 years before its needed. That's how long it took for 720p to become a "standard". HD is not there yet.

Im just puzzled why people still are surprises when a pro stills camera meant for stills doesn't have enough video features to replace video cameras Specially when it has something like 4k at 60fps.. Pretty advanced for a stills shooter imo. Its one of the, if not the best, sport's photography stills cameras out there. Pretty obvious that's why they bothered with the 60fps. It actually makes perfect sense. Making the camera you intend to sell to sports journalists full of features for the "Indy" crowd on the other hand would be seriously wired. Take the 1DC as an example, it costs way less used than a 1DX mki. Because the target audience would never buy some wierd "cinema gadget".

Motion jpeg is however supported nativly in Resolve and FCPX.

Got some used stuff today. The two Voigtlanders are in absolute mint condition but very cheap. The camera was in good condition with the desirable brass patina. The lenses had two years warranty and the camera one + the regular Leica warranty for fabrication errors. I wanted the camera since I love editing Raw on my phone and I enjoy range finders. A happy accident is that Leica M adapts to Panasony and Fuji. And they of course cover the full s35 of my LS300. The build quality of the lenses are just like they usually are with Voigtlander, Excellent! Smooth, all metal and solid. Here are a few quick shots from my garden on the M8. They have had their contrast quickly corrected and one or two got some saturation and a vignette. So no grading. Also, I corrected the raw on my phone under harsh sunlight, drinking beer, so no master pieces 50mm 28mm

An included 64GB Cfast is a nice touch, they are cheap these but still. And it seems to smell nice.

Ive also shot for the military for many years and in my experience DR is important. Swedish army also use Nikon DSLRs, mostly, so exactly as I said then. They trade space for quality even though it means carrying less amo or medic supply. The photos you posted are good examples IMO. They are great but the camera is holding you back. IMHO, stills with a g7 suck absolute balls. My cm1 smartphone is just as good, and that's a phone. Would never lug a big camera and lenses if I didn't get the return. My Pen-f takes great jpegs and is a nice point and shoot. But no way I would use it professionally or as A-cam if it was an important once in a lifetime trip. But I don'tunderstand your point, specially about "consumers". Who cares about them? We already know who the camera is for, no point in recommending something for " consumers in general" No right or wrong here, just giving my thoughts to the guy looking for a camera.

A great option imo is the Canon 35mm f2.0 IS. I use that pretty much 95% of the time. I even sold my 24-105 because the 35mm with the LS300 Prime Zoom was stealing all its air time anyway.

The photos look good, no question about it. But they would have looked much better IMO from a Canikon. Specially in the DR department. If we take the context of military photos there is a reason why most CC teams still use DSLRs. Even though saving space is a key.

Imo an old 5D is way more cinematic than any A7x camera. But I guess you could use the Sony to keep warm in the winter.
