I think this is modern and clean with just gorgeous skin tones. Its also fun that its shot with their affordable Kish lenses the Elite $$$$ Primes. At least I cant really tell which is which. "The Dancer and the D16 was shot on 3 cameras, one D16 with PL mount and Elite PL primes and two D16's with C-mounts and Kish cinema primes."
-
I dont agree but Im sure many pure Leica shooters do.
-
Thats true. But the still shooters that use Leica are pretty passionate. I would be lying if I said I didnt rather have an M9 over my Pen-f.
-
I still find it weird.
-
That sounds wierd. Are you importing the raw straight to premiere or via resolve? Do you get the same with Prores? My guess Premieres rec709 conversion when importing is the problem.
-
So people are going to buy a Raven or Terra for Stills....
-
It depends on what you compare to imo. Within the segment its solid. Our old Panasonic and Canon camcorders at work are more plasticky and my FS-100 was as well. Its not all metal like a cinema camera or bolex, but its not suposed to be. It needs to be light enough for a full days Run-n-Gun. Its metal chassie and metal exteriör where its needed like the handel, mount, ND house. First time I held it my reaction sent away and when I opened the box to my own it didnt feel the same.

I think that plus that it ticks all the reguljär boxes like gain/wb switches, xlr, NDs, eorgononics etc. Also the prime zoom is niffty.
-
I was actually a bit relived. Even though I bought the LS300 at a pretty decent discount and it is still getting upgrades like the upcoming 120p, I small part of thought what if... So in a way the FS5, C100ii and C300ii are still its only competitors in my view, and I had already made that choice.

Yup, and if one want wide and wideish that are made for APS-C/s35 with MFT there is the Rokkinon 21/1.4 or 21/T1.5 and 12/2.0.
-
Ive decided to do it next gen, for example the XT2. Then a possible aliasing free image might trump the IBIS. We will see. I already have lenses and EF adapters for m4/3 so it was ready to go for now.

Thats like asking how I like the sun or a smile Jpeg straight from camera, no post process.

BTW: Guess What!? If you recall back in the days of the BMPCCs youth we tested all kinds of s16 lenses, including these cheap CCD lenses. Well I thought what that heck, could be fun again. I remember liking the 35mm best. First surprise was that they have updated the build quality, now its actually not to bad. Second surprise came when I tested the coverage to see how much I needed to remap in camera....... nothing.. its 100%. I was almost sure it didn't use to cover the Nex APS-C. Or at least I didn't know about it until now. Either way, a cheap backup or a fun option for some artsy stuff. Here are some 4K frames. (All examples are cinema gamma, a stop or two lower DR but I still tend to use it a lot) Ungraded Graded Also here is a frame from the Olympus 17mm in f1.8. Some distortion but I could easily scan way larger than m4/3 if I couldn't liv with it.

Raw is Raw, though to beat. But the resolution is higher, the slowmo is slower and the workflow is faster. No, I have a Lensturbo II on the way from China, usually takes a while.
-
Ive made a top 5 reasons video earlier but in short, Basically its a C100ii with 4K, Slowmo, HD422, Prime Zoom, Interchangable mount, variable sensor size, electronic follow focus and more, in a light weight body for a resonable price No it was whatever jpeg the camera defaults to. Its litterally just after the unboxing, didnt know how to use it yet

Yeah Ive been working out of Sweden for over a week so I haven't been able to do much. But now Im ready to get back on track and get the review done. There is so much cool feature framed in that thing, I want to show them all. Also I think my Chinabooster is here tomorrow, and hopefully my adapter for my Canon TV-zoom Meanwhile I just fell in love with a camera today. Did the stupid thing an asked to see it in a store. It was like when I got Gunpowder. I was only there to "look" at puppies I shot a cheesy little unboxing with the LS300. Graded it totally over the top. It was shot in C4K 24p and Cine Gamma, which btw Im staring to really like.

Bought a stills camera today that came with the Olympus 17mm f1.8 (the nice one with hard stops). Turns out it covers the full s35 on the LS300.

In philosophy "skepticism" is doubt. "Agnostic" means not knowing. In this context I would definitely put a negative association to "Doubting" the camera and company. One does what one wants, I just objected against being unintelligent for being a problem solver instead of seeker Ok, Im sorry for adding to the derail of a thread. I will stop now. so it can get back on topic. I will just paste in the stuff bellow that was pretty much the first hit on google, so I'm definitely agonistic about its accuracy "The Agnostic is generally defined as someone that wants to see some kind of personal first hand experience or proof before he makes a decision. He does not believe we can actually know the will or existence of a deity if they should exist. Wikipedia's definition... In the popular sense, an agnostic is someone who neither believes nor disbelieves in the existence of a deity or deities, whereas a theist and an atheist believe and disbelieve, respectively. In the strict sense, however, agnosticism is the view that human reason is incapable of providing sufficient rational grounds to justify the belief that deities either do or do not exist. The Skeptic is someone that sits on the fence and is hyper critical of any one view being championed above others because none of the other views can state with certainty they are right. Wikipedia's definition.. Skepticism or scepticism has many definitions, but generally refers to any questioning attitude towards knowledge, facts, or opinions/beliefs stated as facts, or doubt regarding claims that are taken for granted elsewhere." Out.
-
Dont know more than you, because Im agnostic. Sceptical to me means being negative. If you where to bet money you would think that they will fail. Agnostic is not knowing. Keeping a neutral stance because you dont know yet. It might be good or bad. This tends to prevent self fulfilling prophecies, good and bad. In my opinion a neutral stance on life will open more doors than a negative
-
Now its getting philosophical here but imo, being skeptical is absolutely NOT the "only" intelligent position. In fact it isn't a very good one in most circumstances (imo). I would suggest being Agnostic is the way to go

I've been so close to buying a Fuji x100t, x70 or XT1 lately. I love using Fuji for stills and some of the ungraded video I see looks absolutely smashing. The only issue with the video is that they have to much aliasing. So if the X-T2 indeed has 4K or they unlock it in the X-Pro2 I would get one of those. Not for 4K resolution (don't care about that in my stills camera), but it most likely will reduce the aliasing. So I guess at Photokina I will know which Fuji to buy, if I can wait that long (need a stills camera pretty ASAP).
-
Yup, 13 is still mind blowingly good imo. Of course I would like as much as possible but 12 is very good and 13 is beyond good enough.
-
So 13 stops beating Panasonic, Canon, Sony a7s, Samsung and on par with Blackmagic and Red isnt good enough anymore Im not interested in the camera so far, but 13stops is not one of the reasons.
