  1. I'm sorry I cannot have a logical discussion with you. It seems like you just spent the past hour researching the history of the Electoral College to negate a truth in our political system. I don't have to agree with the exact reason the Electoral College came to be to see the merit in it. Look you seem like you're a decent person but I am not going to apologize for who I voted for and I am not going stand idly by while you spread half truths, cherry pick facts, and write condescending posts because you didn't get your way this election cycle.
  2. I actually had no intentions of voting until the last minute. I didn't feel comfortable not voting and then complaining, so I looked at the facts and voted based on how these elections will affect my life in 10 or 15 years.
  3. I was talking more about the exit polls that supposedly showed Clinton was going to easily win. Even Clinton's internals must have pointed to an easy victory, if we're to believe the reason she didn't address her supporters or concede that night was due to not having prepared a concession speech.
  4. I apologize, I misquoted you, you said he was a popular two term president, which is correct. I believe his popularity is hovering around 50-60% depending upon the poll... if we can even believe polls any longer. And if people are too afraid to respond honestly to them, then we really cannot. As of now Clinton won the popular vote by 650,000 votes, give or take, but lost the popular vote in enough states where it mattered. The Electoral College. You seem like an intelligent enough person to understand why the Electoral College exists and since we are a Republic, it is the only fair way to ensure that voters from less populated areas are represented. But yes, Clinton won the popular vote, but if you look at the election map, the country, as a Republic, voted for Trump.
  5. This is why I stopped using 100% zebras and started using 70%. At 100% I could not save any of the highlights, they were gone. But I actually have had two cameras. BH accidentally sent me a return, but I tried it out and had those results. After speaking with a few people on this site, I was told to use 70% because of the whole 18% grey card exposure rule for C-Log. I was told, if you don't use a grey card to expose (I never have) than the simplest, safest way was to use 70% zebras. When I received my new camera. I went right into using 70% and it seemed to work fine. Since then I was told to use 100% but I haven't had the camera out in a while, to give it another test.
  6. C'mon let's not mince words and compare actual policies with off the cuff statements made a dozen years ago. Nobody said he was a poet laureate, but there is an argument to be made that he gave himself a large axis to pivot with specific policies. Which way he will turn is to be seen. The problem with recent elections in the USA is that there is no longer the ability to go to the center during the general election. The bases of both parties are so far to the right or left and are so energized and involved that the moderate, common ground, where most Americans reside are left with the hopes that their choice can and will want to put this country onto the proper path. Historically, both parties' President would govern to the center side of their respective party and certain things would actually get accomplished. This practice has been abandoned since the beginning of this millennium. Since Trump has identified himself as a democrat, republican and independent throughout the years, hopefully he will reinstate the tradition of governing from the center.
  7. I was waiting for you to use the popular vote argument... I figured you would. But yes, Clinton did get the most votes, she just lost the popular vote in enough states where it mattered. Between that and your earlier assertion that Obama had a successful eight years, leads me to believe you just regurgitate DNC talking points. Which is fine. Everybody has different views and receives their "facts" from the most comfortable of places. However, I do believe some of Trump's campaign rhetoric was indeed metaphoric. But we really won't know until he actually becomes sworn in and starts working with Congress. One instance in particular is the wall. Was he referring to a literal wall built of brick and mortar or a metaphoric wall built of policy and laws? A person can see it either way and either way he won't be wrong. Trump gave himself a wide girth when the time comes. I don't think you are too educated to understand this and I don't believe Jonesy isn't educated enough to forward this theory. Also, who is this average Trump voter you mock? Is it the 52% of white women that voted for him? Is it the rust belt, union democrat from Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin? Or is it the 33% of Hispanic males and 26% of Hispanic females? But you're right... Trump is a politician... and apparently a very good one. Prior to the election, I didn't consider myself a Trump supporter but I knew I couldn't vote for Clinton. Trump had 12 months of questionable rhetoric, but Clinton has 30 years of deplorable behavior without any meaningful or memorable success. And since she was unable to beat Trump of all people, it is proof she was incapable of running the country.
  8. So saying that some illegal aliens are rapists and murderers is racist?
  9. Although I disagree with a lot of what President-Elect Trump said, let's be clear about what he did actually say... he did not say all of the Mexican illegal aliens are rapists and murderers. I am working right now, so I cannot reply to everything you wrote, but I will in due time if you want to have an honest discussion? If you just want to spread half truths and fear mongering... I have better things to do.
  10. This is so full of ignorance and straw man arguments that completely cherry picks the facts. Actually @Damphousse, I apologize. I think you are slightly misinformed, but you are entitled to your opinions.
  11. I don't think it's my place to say who gets more airtime. But the reason Trump got so much of it was due to the hyperbolic statements he made and an idea that he was easier to beat than the other candidates. They did want him to be the Republican nominee because they believed that nobody could possibly elect him as president. They are completely out of touch with everyday Americans and the problems of everyday Americans.
  12. Let's be honest, Sanders would have lost by even more than Hillary did. The 50% increases in ObamaCare premiums was a major blow to the Clinton campaign at the end. So you believe that the media should pick and choose who they give coverage to as long as it isn't Clinton or Trump... or someone else you disagree with?
  13. I'm sorry this is so stupid, I don't even know where to begin. Love him or hate him, he received the worst media bias against him than any previous nominee in recent history.
  14. I watched it on my phone, so the moire and aliasing went a little unnoticed. I just love the colors coming out of these film simulations, and in some ways the flaws in these older models, add to the lo-fi look of it.
  15. I found this video taken with an old c-mount. I don't think it looks that bad. What is bad about the controls?
  16. Thanks Inazuma. I had seen a couple vids that weren't too bad. I saw one XA2 video that was pretty good as well, so I wasn't sure. Those colors are amazing.
  17. Do you have any video samples taken with the X-T10... and a flickr page with photo samples?
  18. Yeah, they really are. Does anyone know how their older models are... the X-T10 is reasonably priced. But there isn't too much info regarding video quality.

It looks nice. The subject may have helped though.

    Nikon Customers

So, as some may have read, I recently purchased the D5500 and fell in love with the camera and its Flat Profile. I wish it had a little more support for ai/ai-s lenses, but it seems the D7200 or D750 would have been a better choice in that regard. Meanwhile, I came across a "New" GH3 on eBay, for a fair price. Since I have always been intrigued by the GH series, and since I have a little collection of Minolta and c-mount lenses, I thought I would give it a try. The more I read about the all-i 72mbps files and the more I saw samples from the GH3, the more excited I was to give it a try. I almost even bought a Rokinon lens to use with it. Well, it arrived today and it was hardly new, there was even an SD card in the camera with hundreds of photos and videos on the card. Every nook and cranny had a layer of dust or grime in it. The LCD looks good and it seems to function fine, but for the price it isn't worth keeping. The seller did not offer me any discount, so I am returning it tomorrow. Anyway, having the two cameras, the D5500 and the GH3, side by side, I was able to test both with the same lens and I was surprised to learn that even with the high bitrate 1080p, the GH3 did not quite match up to the D5500. The D5500 color is better, the DR seems better, the ergonomics are better... so I am officially going all in with Nikon. Sorry for the long post, but I was wondering, from regular Nikon users, is it smarter to upgrade to the D7200, or D750 now, or since both cameras are on the back end of their product cycles, is it smarter to wait to see what the next models will have? Since the D5 and D500 both have 4K, do you think the next generations of the 7200 or 750 will have it? Also, does it seem likely that the next models will be released within the next 6 months or so? Thanks for any insight!
  21. Also @jase I think your video was great as is, it was just an idea I had... obviously you should do what you think works best for your vision... as I'm sure you would. Oh and I wasn't offended that you thought I should know Macklemore. I am definitely not in the know as far as pop culture goes these days.
  22. As far as the Sigma goes, you've heard enough opposing points and you are skilled enough to know what will work for you, but I will add, it's not just about holding the weight that will be extremely front heavy, it's also the added weight of carrying it around. I always keep the camera on a neck strap around my neck and I know a couple extra pounds doesn't sound like much, but carrying it on your neck all day can really twist your neck, plus the length can be really obtrusive when trying to do simple tasks. Okay, that's the last I will say about it.
