  1. Digital really makes redheads look older.
  2. Yes, this is very interesting. I have a couple ideas for horror web series that a model like this would be perfect for. A friend of mine told me a about a site (I can't remember the name) where you advertise and possibly host your series and you can leverage episode frequencies with how many views you receive. So if you get a loyal fan base of 25 people. For episode 3 (or whatever) you announce you will not air episode 4 until you get 50 views. Due to the way the site works, the new views has to be from different people. Obviously, the idea is that you want to use word of mouth of fans to help generate more fans. By holding back episodes until you get more views, you can essentially get a bigger fan base and the loyal viewers are more than happy to help. Interesting stuff this world wide webs.
  3. Unfortunately, even wide angle m42 lenses are pricy. You can try the Soligor 21mm, they come in a bunch of different mounts and can be had for less than a hundred. Otherwise there's the RMC Tokina 17mm which you can get for about a $150 in good condition.

    Instagram?

Haha, I was just kidding, but it sure sounds like the holidays with my family.

    Instagram?

    What the eff is Instagram?
  6. The sad thing is I am probably only half joking... There are so many options out there and instead of arguing which is the best all around solution, I decided to buy the cheaper solutions that do one or two things well. Each camera is a tool. Eff it, I should just go back to the t2i.
  7. You ain't kidding. Haha. Work has been really busy lately. So, when I can't shoot I buy. BUT, I actually have a plan that involves some selling and some buying, so I'll have a modest 2 camera set up... And a half dozen set of lenses. Unless I get a pocket cam or a micro...
  8. When you get a chance, I'd really like to see something with that lens.
  9. That 16 2.4 looks like a decent little lens. The iFunction seems handy as well. I have a really small Olympus LS-7 field recorder. I can get acceptable results with just the onboard mics. I know you just got it, but do you have any graded video with the 16-50?
  10. Interesting. Throw her on an L-Bracket and attach a small recorder to the cold shoe on the bracket and a small shotgun on the camera hot shoe... Tiny little system. Shure has that small shotgun that has a recorder built in
  11. The 16-50 is even cheaper and not much bigger. It's a slower lens and a touch bigger, but it does have ois which would be great for run and gun. The focus rings must suck on these lenses though. I dread the idea of using a focus by wire after using a Nikkor or a Rokkor-X. I'll probably end up using the Minolta 45mm or Konica 40mm.
  12. Exactly, I only paid $350 for the body, brand new. If I threw in some adapters, extra batteries and a couple vintage lenses, I might be able to get $250 for it. So, I'll probably start using it like you intend to... Throw a pancake lens on it and use it as a point and shoot, pocket cam. It would probably be great on one of those small, handheld gimbals, or gopro steady cams.
  13. That makes sense. When I first got it, I overestimated what I could do with it and was, still am, a little ignorant as to how to get the best out of it. Unfortunately, I haven't picked it up since I bought the G7. I was thinking about selling it, but the downscaled 4K to 1080p b&w is so gorgeous, I will probably end up keeping it.
  14. Seriously, the amount of DR and light falloff in her hair is beautiful.
  15. Interested to see what you can do with it. It's a cool little camera that can be so damn frustrating. One of the most ergonomic cameras I've ever had, though. It just feels right in the hands.
  16. Actually the 3rd could be the Digital Bolex?
  17. 1st and 3rd are film... Krasnogorsk... the 2nd is Red.
  18. Didn't know you had the nx500... How many cameras do you own? Yeah, 1080 on the 500 is... (Searching for the right words)
  19. Good to know. I have tested cinelikeD and now am messing around with natural. I also have the nx500, you used to have the nx1, right? Do you like the g7 better? I use only vintage lenses and I think they pair better with the g7 than they do with the nx500. Of course, b&w on the nx500 is incredible. Anyway, good work, I look forward to your next piece.

I decided to go with the ai-s 35-70mm f/3.5. I now have a modest little set of Nikkors that should suit me well... 28mm f2 35-70mm f3.5 50mm f2 Now I just need to sell a few other lenses to raise some money for a metabones xl.

    35-70 ai f3.5 or 35-70D af f2.8? I can get a good 3.5 for around $90 and a decent 2.8 for around $175.

If you want the best lens with that look, spend the money and get the Nikon. Other 2.8 lenses will probably be fine for whatever you're doing, but I feel like you keep asking the same question and hoping you get a different answer. If you want to know what the Tokina or Sigma 2.8 lenses look like, Google them... Surely there are videos online using those lenses.

I used to have the RMC Tokina 28-70 and it was a really nice lens. Very low contrast. I have the 25-50 which is also great. I will say though... The Nikon is better... That is why they used it on Bourne. I get that it may be too much for you... I can't afford one either, but it IS better.

3.5 isn't too bad. With the metabones XL it will get down between f/2 - f/2.5 ... Which is more than admirable for a constant zoom. Is it parfocal? It seems it focuses inside the barrel, so I assume the filter ring does not rotate when you focus? I have the Minolta MD 24-35mm and it is a stunning lens, it's like a small set of wide primes in one lens, but the filter ring rotates on focus, so using a fader nd is a pain in the ass. Do you have any screen grabs?
