Yeah, sorry I should have been more clear with my original comment. And yeah it was a great price. I ended up selling it a couple months ago after I got the G7, but it's a fun little camera.

I picked up the a5100 body refurbed for 250 bucks six months after release.
-
I'd get the D750 if I were you, by summer's end, the a6300 will be selling for around $600. If the reviews are good you may be able to have both.

Those look good!!!

I think the Chinese ripped off the Fujinon name but did not deliver anywhere near the quality. Of course, the Fujian is a fun little lens, but the Fujinon is a serious piece of glass.

Hey Andy, I read in an old post where you said that the Fujinon c-mounts are comparable to Zeiss. I have the 35mm 1.7 and I can confirm that it is an amazing little lens, but I need to get it modified. If I go to the trouble and cost to modify the lens I would also like to pick up the 16mm and maybe the 25mm. Are they just as good and do you know if the 16mm will cover the m43 sensor in my G7?

Ed, was thinking a little more about your short and I thought it could be a powerful ending to have a voice over of the woman's thoughts, without the subtitles, when she finally makes her decision to follow her heart. Just a thought.

Here's a clip with the Takumar 35mm f/2.

Gotta love those Nikon colors! Every time I see Nikon footage, clips, or photos I want to go out and buy a D5500. Do you do a lot of post? Once I think I am getting the hang of grading, it seems like I can't duplicate it. So I have just been messing around.

Damn, the girl in the foreground, with the black sweater, looks 3D... very cool!!! And yes I notice the bokeh, it's almost a smear, but the foreground pops so much, it's not too distracting. Did you say that is full frame? Is it a still or a grab?

Since this thread is about Zeiss... here's a grab from a clip taken with the Contax Zeiss 50mm f1.7 Planar...

Somehow I missed this post... Sorry. But yes, I remember reading about the CRC and it really is amazing. The Minolta is equally as amazing but has a little cooler of a look to it. My copy of the Minolta is in better shape, but I can't say for sure which one I like better optically. Of course I just picked up the Tak 35mm f2 lens as well and that bastard is an awesome little lens too. I am starting to think I may just shoot future projects with a single lens. That's how much I like these... I just need a lot of projects. Nikkor 28mm f2 Minolta 28mm f2 Super Takumar 35mm f2

So, I came across a 35mm f2 RMC Tokina m42 lens on eBay today that I never knew existed. It was a little pricy, but I thought I would never find another one, so I jumped on it. Anybody have any experience with it? I figured it would pair nicely with my RMC 17mm and 25-50mm.

Here's a quick grade I did of some footage I shot with G7 and the Super Takumar 35mm f2. It was shot with Natural profile with everything dialed down except contrast and saturation. I know a few other people have the G7, would love to see your progress.

Love your work, Brother!!! I have been following your stuff for awhile now. I picked up a G7 not too long ago myself and it is an amazing camera. Would love to read a review and some tips on how you set her up and make her shine. I'm sure others would as well!!!

Haha, I thought we were guessing. I couldn't get the link to the Vimeo page.

Maybe I think it might be a Minolta lens though.
-
Yeah, that looks great! What set up did you use... Camera... Lens?
-
Idk, I think the gh5 might be big. I assume it will include VLog and I wouldn't be surprised to see 4K 60p or some other wild, dream spec that nobody expected... Maybe even 1080p Raw.

Nikkor-N, how is the focus ring? Every old nikkor I ever bought has a real dry focus ring.

To be honest, I have only ever considered the 30 1.4 and 18-35 1.8 and they're both aps-c lenses, so I just assumed the entire line was. Good to know.

So, I like how you made her thoughts more targeted, yet kept her scattered by adding more random thoughts that didn't relate to the political process. Those little asides, so to speak, broke up the monotony of her thoughts. Hell, I would even consider adding other people's unrelated thoughts, especially on the subway. When she wonders about her wallet, you could have the guy next to her wonder something as well. I actually thought it might be funny if she asks herself... "Did he just grab my ass?" Then after a brief pause, show the subtitles of the guy next to her, acknowledging that he accidentally did. Anyway, good job. I still like the original subtitles, but I seem to be in the minority with that.

I have a little first hand knowledge. I have the 50mm 1.8 and the 28mm 3.5. They are both decent little lenses. Although I never tried it, I know the 50mm 1.4 is highly regarded for video. That vintage lenses for video guy has a few videos covering and featuring that lens. On the wide end, the 28mm f2 is supposed to be great. I've even read a few claims on some forums that it is one of the best 28mm lenses ever made. Good news is that most of their lenses can be had cheap. Even the 28mm f2 can be had for less than 200 bucks.

I've been using cinelikeD with everything dialed down except contrast at 0 and saturation at -2. I just started testing Natural. It looks pretty good so far. Thanks

nice. i love 35mm f2 lenses. my 35mm f2 Takumar came in today. I got a couple minutes with it and it's an awesome little lens, obviously not in the same league as the milvus, but cool nonetheless.
