Thank you, glad you liked it Yeah, they were happy (they got a longer version as well) Im currently editting my last wedding shot a few weeks back, and it should also be my last for now, Im considering going abroad and trying something more serious than weddings, this year was crazy, and I miss doing shortfilms, music videos (tough im doing one now as well) and other creative stuff.
-
Just finished a re-edit of my first wedding the NX1 (fortunately, wedding season is over !), I didnt re-grade, just made it smaller. Hope you guys like it : https://vimeo.com/148642940 C&C are always wellcome !

As I said, these were measured on the first Firmware, which is a shame, since the camera evolved so much. If you take a look at the A7sII vs the NX500, it fairs much better than the NX1 which is quite wrong.
-
DXO mark on the NX1 isnt updated, the NX500 has a higher score, which is quite sad, considering theire recognition, they should update their values.

Nikon bought Samsung NX mirrorless tech. End of Samsung NX (?)

Plot twist, this is all a marketing scheme to get people knowing about the NX1 ! Check this forum for example, 10 out of 20 threads are related to the NX1/Samsung ! -

Adobe Premiere Pro CC Now Supports H.265 NX1 Files
ricardo_sousa11 replied to nougat's topic in Cameras
So heres my few first shots with H265 native : There is aparent banding (on the last image) however, somehow I "feel" the image is different, it seems to have less sharpening artefacts, and less shadow artefacts than the converted prores file. Working with these however, seems like a wonder...fast workflow, and no hassle converting. -

I shoot with 16-235, didnt notice any detail lost on the shadows though, but havent tested it much yet...will do some extreme tests and see how they compare. -
Adobe Premiere Pro CC Now Supports H.265 NX1 Files
ricardo_sousa11 replied to nougat's topic in Cameras
Just tried this, since I had original clips and converted clips, I tried both side by side. It seems that the original H265 is slightly more contrasted than the Prores, which looks more faded. Also it seems to have no banding at all, even after grading, also no magenta/green weird banding lines. Ill post some screenshots later ! -

Would be easier to just make some sort of NX-Nikon active mount, or even create some speedbooster. -
Just finished editting a small video for some friends (& client) to check out the look we're looking for. Grade isnt final (its already dif. from the previous images). This is a music video we're shooting soon (these were only random test shots). https://vimeo.com/147527110 Password : Franco

Omg finally ! Considering I have a full wedding to edit and havent still converted, this is huge news ! -
Thanks The close ups are canon 50mm f1.8 and the "wide" shot of the car with the samyang 24mm f1.4
-
Just started shooting a music video this weekend, only test shots though, grading isnt final either, here are a few :
-
I randomly got this effect while using the 50mm f1.8 canon on the NX1, I realized it does this quite often, something that didnt happen on my T3i with the same lens, I wonder if it has to do with flange distance. **This is a videoframe BTW.

I really would love to see your workflow. I cant find any Prores export on premiere. The Nx1 has an amazing amount of detail, but im losing most of it when exporting..
-
How do you export your footage ? Do you add any sharpenning ? I cant seem to get as clean as an export as you do..
-
This wasnt final grading, I totally agree with you ! Will post some improvements over these, and other shots. Gotta try those vivid settings though, might look great, anyone tried them at night ?
-
Loving these looks, will def. try them !
-
ED David also has amazing footage from the NX1 and explains both the settings and the grading: https://vimeo.com/115004338
-
Thank you Yeah, if we protect the highlights from getting crushed, it always looks quite amazing. Heres a few others, but the OOC settings are always the same. Just like Andrew said, the goal is to have enough so that you can make artistic choices later on in post...This is actually one of my favourite parts of any project, to grade the footage in a lot of ways and see how it ends up looking.
-
Heres my current settings, this is my balance between retaining color and DR, making it easy to grade : These are : -10 sharpness, -2 Saturation, -3 Contrast +8 Black levels. OOC: Graded :
-
I too am looking for a steady cam, what do you guys recommend ? Does anyone have a Beholder MS1 ? Thats the cheapest I could find, but am on the fence, considering dave's review...
-
Nah, Id rather spend the extra money to get the mark 2 and have it all in one package conveniantly, I try to pack as light as I possibly can, having 3 cameras would be a huge hassle.
-
Thats what im searching for now, but Portuguese people have a tendency to try and sell used stuff for almost the price of new -.- but Ill get lucky eventually...
