So Vegas 14 is out, and saw some reviews on Youtube, I wonder if they increased encoding and exporting speeds drastically -

10 Bit HEVC 4K Encode and Decode provides 4K editing and watching capabilities to the masses. Also will support VP9 10 bit hardware decode and 8 bit VP9 hardware Encode for Youtube consumption. If you have the Samsung NX1 or NX500 and want to edit on the go, this might be useful for you. On top of just letting you watch more 4K video, the new chips' encoding performance could be a huge deal for anyone editing media, with speeds between 1X and 3X real-time for 30FPS 4K. I saw this camera on sale, it looked rugged, and was well priced with the lens compared to the Sony A6300, any experience with the video features ?

It has a touchscreen which offers “Touch AF,” “Touch Shoot” and “Touch Zoom,” Does 1920x1080 at 60p and 24P But No Phase detect !! and No 4K, no H.265, No USB 3.0 Will this be the 1080 camera for gun and run with the touch focus or youtubers ? A review on the video capabilities, quality and auto / Touch focus would be awesome. https://***URL removed***/news/1889222085/fujifilm-x-a3-arrives-with-new-sensor-and-touchscreen-in-tow

Someone should review the new version when it comes out, then compare encoding with OpenCl and Nvidia Cuda on different new graphic cards like the RX480 and the 1070 or 1080. -

So I just found out that Magix acquired sony Vegas Pro with the whole Sony Creative Suite, and just announced a new version that will launch in September. But what they seem to highlight as the newest feature beside a redesign along with 4k and HEVC Hardware Acceleration support, is the native ProRes capabilities and support. So will this be the go to Prores editing software for Windows users ? They also lowered the price from $600 to $200 and are giving Vegas Pro 14 for free if you purchase the 13 !! Thoughts ? Here is the offer link http://www.magix.com/us/specials/vegas/exclusive-welcome-offer/

Anyone with experience using such hardware and Avid ? http://www.avidblogs.com/simplify-4k-and-save-400-on-avid-artist-dnxio-hardware/?mkt_tok=3RkMMJWWfF9wsRohsqvPZKXonjHpfsX%2F7OouUKS1lMI%2F0ER3fOvrPUfGjI4DTcFgM6%2BTFAwTG5toziV8R7HBJc133M8QXRbk What is the workflow for using this hardware, and how much faster or easier will 4k editing and encoding be ? wouldn't a more expensive dual xeon workstation be a better upgrade option ? It's $2,999.00 for the hardware + avid media composer academic, is it worth it ?

They also announce two $399 small sensor coolpix cameras with UHD 4K http://***URL removed***/news/9106779765/nikon-announces-trio-of-long-zoom-coolpix-cameras-two-of-which-support-4k-capture

I tried something similar to live stream to youtube with a DSLR & my phone last year as I could not get my laptop to a press conference, but was not successful. I ended up live streaming to youtube with RTMP Camera app and my phone's camera, the quality was poor to alright as I switched streaming settings, I had 32000+ live viewers so it was alright, and the app had a mute option that i utilized to block copyrighted music. Youtube disables your stream if copyrighted music is played in the background. Would be great if the capture device worked with a streaming app, and if that app had the ability to switch audio source to play stored mp3 files when selected then switch back to the hdmi audio source when possible.

It is weather sealed !! and the lcd screen movements are good enough. The lenses have stabilization, depending on which you buy. The biggest downside is removing the touch autofocus which was on the a5100
