  1. I found myself curious to know what he was cutting out of the material and why? I also wondered why he chose to include the junkie and homeless folks in the material. Yes they are interesting in some ways, but I don't see the relationship between them and the other 'get that camera away from me' types. In any case, a great social commentary about this particular time in history and from a very bizarre part of the world. God it would be uncomfortable to be an American living outside America sometimes.
  2. Too funny. If people think they can tell you not to shoot, they will. It's a kind of situational authority that I myself raise a huge middle finger to. If you are in a public place and don't like the camera then get out of my frame. Soon we will have people requesting permission before you can 'look' at them.
  3. Each to their own but believe that the C100 Mk II is superior to the C300. Moreover, I've seen tests where it is almost impossible to see any benefits of using an external recorder. Expose/ white balance correctly and you have a very capable camera in a small package.
  4. Yul Brynner wouldn't 'love to see' anything except himself in a mirror, naked with a photocopy of a camera brochure.
  5. Ego confirmed. Awaiting next update.
  6. Riding one's own frame, focus and focal length are standard protocol to a doc camera person. End of story.
  7. GAME CHANGER!?! Well...that settles that then.
  8. Well that settles that then. Now can we get back to the front?
  9. Man, some folks are really 'into' it.
  10. Apocalypse Now. "Never get out of the boat. Absolutely god damn right. Unless you were goin' all the way."
  11. 1DX I I Stills & 4k video (60p) encoded to lusciously fat codec. No screwball menues or buggy battey issues. Great choice of native glass. DPAF. Grab a couple of Little Darlin's and run for the next 5 years easily. I for one am sick of the time it takes to build a new camera set up every few years. This camera could keep the wolves away... for a while. Oh and I think it's pretty normal to have times when we are not so excited about lensing. I guess it's all about what is motivating. See this as an opportunity to explore other creative ventures.
  12. Fade in: A group of hairy, shirtless men surround a camera and begin preening, posturing and flexing amongst themselves. The camera looks away.
  13. As a Basic Vimeo user, I've never had any music copyright issues. Let's see if that changes now that I'm over to the 'Plus' side of things.

    Vimeo Export

Export complete with your settings, thanks again for posting this. Plays fine in VLC but is choppy with Quicktime Player. Any idea why?
  15. Would really like to use Frame I/O now and for future work as it seems a step in a decent direction, but 3 different uploads have all failed (I'm on a decent connection) so with a deadline approaching I think I'll have to bite the bullet and move towards Vimeo.

    Not possible.

    Vimeo Export

Hey Geoff, thanks for jumping in. I unchecked the box beside 1920x1080 but when I tried to enter 2560x1440 PPro wouldn't allow it. I'll give it another shot when the current export is finished but somehow I couldn't make it happen. I'll report back if I still can't swing it. Thanks again.

    Vimeo Export

    - I'm working in PPro CC. When exporting, after selecting Vimeo 1080p, I can not find the way to set 90mbps. Nor will it allow me to select 2560x1440. I can however, select CBR. What gives?
  19. Hi Hans, Frame I/O looks interesting. Is it possible to embed the player into my website? I can't seem to find a way. Also, it's twice now that I tried to upload a 1.3GB ProRes file to the site and had an error and failed to finish the upload both times. Any thoughts?
  20. I'll take a look. Thanks Hans.
  21. I guess there is a certain level of 'perceived' professionalism that comes in skirting the cat video banner clips so me thinks it's over to Vimeo Plus. Anyone know where or if there is an accessible promo code to be taken advantage of?
  22. Thank you Olikmia. Have you used the Dailymotion yourself? Quality? Is there a catch? Only the French would miss the irony in a name like this
  23. I've always made due with a Vimeo basic (free) account. 500mb in one upload is all I normally have needed. Now, I have a 1.2gb file that I would like to upload asap (and password protect) just this one time but this is not possible with this free account. A 'Plus' account will cost $60. I don't really want to pay this for one upload. I recently saw some posts on this site indicating the Vimeo is becoming shite. Are there decent 'free' options? Anything worth recommending?
