This design is amazing. But I would like to have a bigger sensor in it. Maybe one day canon will have the good idea using the c300 mark 2 sensor on this design with a 24 to 70mm fixed lens with a constant aperture of 2.8. Thats a camera I would like to have. Tiny with DPAF and true 4k.

No it's not. It's more a statement about the direction of yen. The rise of prices has more to due with the yen appreciation on the last 6 years.

The consumer and prosumer market is shrinking. Smartphones took over. And they will get better and better. In the future a cellphone will be able to record 8k 12-bit 444, there will be software that will perfectly emulate all possible combinations between lenses and sensor sizes, they will have IBIS and DIS and DPAF, global shutter, 3d, VR, etc. And they will cost the price of pencil. Everyone will be able create, there will be a ton of crap but also there will be some masterpieces, but it will be very difficult to find them in the middle of so much crap. And also a government that delivers an affordable small camera that records 12bit 4444 in 8k with a very efficient codec that makes small files, ready to go and easy to edit.

Yeah. And it seams it will keep going up. But maybe we are also near a big crash, so who knows? I for sure wouldn't buy now. I think in this times in the industry of prosumer cameras the best is to buy second hand, the depreciation of tech is hugely fast. You can buy a camera 8 months after the release and pay half or less.

It's true, I went a bit magical there. But maybe a 24mm to 70mm would be possible without getting too expensive large, bulky and heavy. Anyways not going to happen. So...

I' This little camera is nice but what would be cool is something like a XC10 that uses the c300 mark 2 sensor (xc30). Not just to benefit from DPAF but also from a larger field of view. The fixed lens should be constant aperture 2.8 from 24mm to 200mm. the media and codec could be the same.

1 dx mark 2, maybe? or just buy another ursa mini

You can also use this one with a zoom h1 in the end it's less expensive than the tascam dr-10L.

The 1dx2 has 2 chips dual digic 6+ the 5d mark 4 has one digic 6+. And in this case he is actually saying that 8-bit color 422 codec doesn't gain anything by having c-log. The camera could do it but is not worth it in canon opinion.
