  1. Some underwater macro marvel. Not bad for a little pocket cam. Upload is 1080p, so wandering if it was even filmed in 4K. So here the little Lumix LX10 for some underwater footage. I really like the framing and the cinematography as such. What do you think? @Davide DB 🙂
  2. Here is an interview from the Criterion channel with Amy Seimetz about her narrarive feature "Sun Don't Shine". She was director, writer and producer for this film, which came out in 2012, shortly before Upstream Color.
  3. Anyone shot any narrative work besides @PPNS ? Are you allowed to share some footage?
  4. Good luck with your project! Is that you on one of the photos, the Win98 one? 🙂 @Emanuel
  5. How much will the Z6III cost? No N-Raw? I find N-Raw from the Z8 and Z9 very impressive.
  6. This one allows enough image quality for anyone of us. I wish for a M4K version with internal recording and an add on tilteable 2.5-3" monitor. Also give it optional S16 and 2x crop modes. For the Studio Micro G2 it would be cool to have a neat seamlessly connected ssd case like for the Sigma FP. Imagewise this is just as rocksolid as the P4K.
  7. Has anyone invested time into thinking about this? - not me. but you have several times before over the course of last year. The iPhone 15 with log may be the win for ultimate travel ease - good pair of shoes is. Phone without log is lighter though. but curious about the quality bump and portability of these two bad boys. - watch markuspix and save big money. who needs bad boys. The smaller the footprint the less barrier to entry and more desirability to create - not at all. joy of using is. Buy any 3 of these you keep on mentioning. I think you really want to, considering your posts of the last one or two years. Meanwhile with a grain of salt but very entertaining and informative.
  8. I remember her name now, Amy Seimetz. After i had watched the film around 2014 or 2015 i remember reading about her as a filmmaker. She as an actress and artist was very intriguing to me and means something to me as an icon of indy filmmaking. To later find out about her being harrassed was very unsettling and saddening to me. It felt like the worm under her skin hurting her for real. To me this film is always connected to the real circumstances of the abuse coming after it. Regarding watching SD content. @kye It was still mostly filmed on film. People were willing to watch VHS tapes, because it was the hot shit. Hard to replicate that experience and exitement about it. Well mastered Dvds look pretty impressive, sometimes better than streamed 1080p.
  9. Even more to the story, I think Shane Caruth used Andrews 44mbit hack for the Gh2. I found the trailer compelling, the cinematography beautiful but the film all in all a bit of a let down due to its hyper fragmented narration. I got it on Dvd as a gift back then and it is an achievement I plan to rewatch on Bluray. The use of natural and available light is often a sight to be seen. Primer, the predecessor is a likewise confusing film and with some spectacular handheld camera work and editing, shot in one or two takes per shot on 16mm film. I call Upstream Color an oddity. Some find it masterful. The filmmakers threats some time later against his fellow actress are very unsettling. They were in a relationship with one and another. She is a very exiting name in the indy directing world now with some mainstream success. The threats by Caruth are gruesome and very upsetting. I cannot forget about it when thinking about this film and it makes me very sad. GH2 enthusiasts were often valid filmmakers with a solid filmmaking or creative background. If one rewatches Andrews GH2 pieces f.i. theres is a craftsmanship and art to it to be highly appreciated. You go and make your film, short or long, doesn't matter. Long or commercially successful does not necessarily mean good. So looking forward to you grabbing a moderately priced 10bit cam and rock. Love your Ccd abventures and color galore. @QuickHitRecord cheers 🙂
  10. For photography I imagine this camera to be a great choice. I like the body size and design from looking at reviews. What's the difference between MK I and II? @MrSMW

    Lenses

20mm Nikon AI was vignetting pretty strongly wide open at f3.5 on full frame and the 35mm f2 as well iirc. @mercer My Canon Fd 28mm f2 has a lovely little vignette on FF when wide open. Only tested it wide open so i cannot talk about other apertures.
  12. Just a 3d render and a guy with nervous hands. Fake vertigo inluded.😂
  13. Image looks like from an p4k test video imo. @kye I find the video ok but pretty plain. Cage, ssd clamp and further rigging are shown in another video of the same youtuber. With the specific cage and external ssd it already looks looks pretty big, almost as big as the m2k with a 3" monitor rigged to the back, look at around 7min 50s. Knowing the great quality the p4k is capable of, this camera is no slouch in the image quality department, of course. It will be great for broadcasting and streaming for sure. I won't trade it in for my m2k though. 🙂
  14. That's the one @kye Thanks for the find. I think she inspired a few of us to try something like that. The effort it takes regarding locations, travelling and filming are challenging. I am more comfortable with handheld work, including static shots by concept. Recomposing that frame on a tripod is a skill by itself. I have done some allright locked work I guess but handheld work, static and motion have been my comfort zone.

    A6700?

Hey, thank you for your advice. @Marcio Kabke PinheiroI am not in need of a camera for sure. From what I got watching reviews the overheating is a pain for more than just very careful casual video use. Good for me as i can save money and keep the money from my S1 sale, which I have not sold yet. Prices are so low these days, it's not fun to part from them for that little money. 🙂
  16. Exited. Don't know what to film yet. Filming with F8 to 11 allowed me to use the single point AF without worries on the P2K and not have to worry about the screen for focus control in the bright sun. I got a small vari nd now for my panny 14mm, so i will give F4 a try. Exiting! Maybe some nature. Or 14-42 instead at 5.6. Didn't you suggest that vari fstop lenses from 14 to 42 give same dof as aperture closes down through the zoom range @kye? OIS will eat more battery though:) Or i go with the tevidon 10mm. But would need to fix the aperature with tape as its very loose. No VariND though for this one, meaning f11. Think it only goes till f8. Have to look. Tripod and a 90mm might be another thing of beauty. No Nds for that one as screw thread is damaged big time. Blue hour and freezin my ass off.:) Anyone remembering that komodo test footage in LA from a female dop? I think our friend Don aka @webrunner5 posted that two years ago.
  17. It just seems that i don't wanna take a chance on the port nor rig the beauty up. I really enyoyed the restrictions and freedoms of using it barebones as I wrote above. I got two 64GB cards plus a 32one, all three working well but none for 50p raw 3:1. Read on this forum about more recent cards working without troubles iirc. Maybe we could do a og p2k or m2k cinema verité parade, you, @kye , @mercer , me and anyone else.
  18. I don't want to break mine, so I decided not to use it. From what i read it's not possible to repair once it's broken and i read reports about breaking despite clamps and cages. But half cage with included clamp looks great. @BTM_PixHow do you feel about using it with an extra monitor and regarding its delicate micro hdmi port?
  19. P2K has a very fragile micro hdmi out as you know, so I don't even bother. @kye I used it in in direct sunlight without rigging a monitor. I was testing a worst case scenario, carrying three xtra batteries and the 14mm F2.5 pancake at F11 and 360 shutter. I had so much fun and the results very so satisfying. I used single point AF on the lens, F11 on S16, you figure:) That way i was able to use the monitor only for framing and i prefocused my shots with pressing the focus button once or twice only during the take. I had posted that video here before. Such a great little camera with a great image. A pocket camera after all.:)
  20. Exactely. That thing is fragile. Hardly usuable for rigging. I mounted it on one of the screwholes and the outer shell cracked slightly around the mounting point. Same with a second screw hole. The plastic shell is just very poor quality.
  21. Dog lover vs kitten cat. 🙂 His colors looked great when 709 was ruling acquisition. Log made him logged out of color appeal. Too bad he took a harmless joke so badly. Something must have hit him much more than just a goofy joke about his kittens. Senstive state of mind he must have been in. His videos are still a joy to chill with.
  22. Is that you? @EmanuelYou've gotten big arms from using that thing for your phone. Guess you won't be able to answer phone calls with that constuction around it and with another construction around it.:)
  23. Still got my shogun flame. Used it twice as a monitor and once as a recorder for one of my fs700 cams. Hardly worth in usage for the money I paid. Without a cage these things are hardly usuable. Cages have been and still are around 120eu on the bay. I doubt the benefit for it other than usuage as a monitor. It was a haveto when filming in the bright sun for the ACing but other than that I think I won't miss anything if I let that thing go. If a project comes up renting will have to do. Reading this thread gives me the right impulse to sell that thing. So thanks for spreading the word. Hopefully someone will still be willing to buy that thing. Wish me good luck. cheers:)
  24. 1DC is a Dslr and a hybrid, doing video and photo on pro level. Sofore it was 1st by my conclusion, as a hybrid and as Dslr.
