  1. 8bit mystery solved. A beast with a speedbooster on its snout. A hungry image taker for 10 years now. Still loose and hungry to explore tasty treats of images. So Sony APSC from @MrSMW was perfectly ture. A7S guess @FHDcrew was not shabby neither, though colour from the FS700 is much more versatile. No contest in my experience. On the speedbooster it was the 24- 105 Canon L zoom, turning the APSC FS700 practically into a FF cam. Not my lens unfortunately. Gh5 it is not but could perfectly have been. But then you have to figure. What are the widest shots and how have they been achieved? Hint:)
  2. Hyperbolin poop until it looks all the same, like poop.:) Anyway, I would love us to post more lil vignettes instead of searching significance in youtubepoop. @SRV1981 I find CLog3 very easy to grade and Canon 10bit cameras are capable of great images. I find some A7S I and II very challenging to grade under unlit circumstances. Regardless their high light sensitivity they don´t provide nice colours easily, especially not in the LOG formats, coming from my experience. I once had a gig they gave me an A7SII for. I recorded Rec709, 400 ISO and codec still didnt hold up grading very well. I imagine Canon R6 being a pretty cool camera. Cannot go wrong with a FX3 neither. Or with Lumix S5, if you want a "full frame" camera. So with your Canon R6 you are settled perfectly for some great colours. The little differences only matter when you are used to one of the profiles and plan on shooting with the other. When I rent a C300 II, I always film in CLOG3 and always do a black balance before shooting. Clog 3 is better in lowlight than 2 and easier to grade for me. Slog from the A7 III on is pretty good. Tiny difference only matter when doing high end commercials or films. Other than that all 10bit cameras put out a neat image. What´s more important under that buch of rather higher priced cameras is usuablitity, battery life and sturdiness. SLOG flavours on FS700, PMW F3,5,55,65:), FX6,9, FS5,7 is very different from the early photocams and a good format to record in, even in its 8bit alterations in the FS700 and F3. But with your R6 you have a great camera to enjoy, when it comes down to a nice image. cheers
  3. true, pure soul. no ads music. no elevator buy stuff melodies. true grit from within. Lee Moses is an enigma. He just vanished after this record. This song is one of the most powerful recordings I had listened to a few years ago when I discovered it through the film "House of tolerance", which I had a very hard time trying to watch it, because it is a very saddening and deep film. Anyway, this song elevated the quality of this film even moreso. "I´m sad about it" by Lee Moses is another breathtaking song.
  4. Yeah, loved the G6. Had the perfect colour science for grading it. Ungraded without some secret sauce it was not the hottest colours. But once you got a hang of it, beautiful. Most organic HD I had. Liked it more than the pixel perfect GH5 HD image. Now, you are far away but pretty close at the same time. Next hint, the 420 is older than the G6. How about figuring out the 10bit beast? Shots are about half and half between the two cameras, maybe a tiny bit more of the 10bit image.
  5. Not bad as a guess. Is it too early for hints?:) The 8bit machine is a classic 1080p machine with tasty surprises. It is not a A7S. Otherwise you would have taken have the crown already for the guess the camera game. The other camera has not been tried to indentify. So still plenty room for guesses and hints. 🙂
  6. Won´t give it away yet. I like your strategy of reasoning though. 🙂 It´s two cameras, so twice the challenge. Or if you have to pick, which is which, four times the challenge.:) By the way, how do you like the piece and edit?:)
  7. Kewl, everyone. Thanks for sharing insights. I would love to see some Z9 experimental film fromus forum lovers or one with a Red is fine too. 🙂 There were some awesome posts in the Sony Cinealta F3 thread. Short glimpses into the image quality of the camera, fun to watch, often quick little sketches, crafted with passion and the illusion of effortlessness.
  8. I remember when Luk posted his GH5s infos and people were exited. Now he gives away his stuff for free and there is not much appreciation or exitement I can recognize in the thread. I find that unfortunate, as he was a pioneer and innovator of the DSLR/M revolution. It´s all right, as U2 would sing in one their hits. Don´t think twice, as Elston Gunn would sing and hide behind his Bob persona. @Emanuel Once in a while it takes me a lil bit to dechiffre your words. I would guess, you appreciate Luks old school DSLR contribtutions, though your true love is the one for the classic cinematic image.:)
  9. For those who are interested in these kinda sujets, the puppeteer and theater group is located in Berlin. The two musicians are too, who improvised for an hour with their beautiful music. So, no camera guesses yet. I guess you are focussed on the 8K RAW dream machines.:) Guess the camera is a fun game. Common, afficiandos, have some kewl guessing and foremost, have a kewl week. cheers 🙂
  10. Two Komodos in Cannes. Not bad, as many films as done with a Venice. Cannes love glamour, Top Gun Maverick and camera porn.
  11. Hey Cats, just wishing you all a good night or a good morning, whereever you are.:) Below is a video I shot with a friend of mine. Music is live from the band in this video. I cut two takes of the song together to make it fit within the 1min limit. Edit took me a while though, rough cut and 80% of the job was done quickly, but tell me about the last 20 or maybe 15%.:) The 8bit challenger in my book is a great camera. 420 HD wonder. Color channels show plenty noise when going for a colourful and contrasty grade. But the colour palette and dynamic range are there and plenty. Filming was without preproduction nor did we have time to concept. So rolling with the punches. In the mix the mighty 20mm Canon FD plus Soligor/ Hanimex 35-70 F2.5-3.5 which got kicked against by a kid on the loose two years ago and has also fallen off the camera the same summer. On cam1 was the trusty 24 - 105mm Canon L on a speedbooster. If you like a good "guess the camera" game, here we got a good challenge, twice. 🙂 The puppet, the group of puppetiers, the musicians and the whole project is really someting. Cannot wait to do the next project with them. Have a great week. cheers
  12. Emanuel, stay away from that 120p 4K, may it be a drone with motion cadence like a scratchy sound from a grumpy cat or may it be from a 8K RAW cat video. I would prefer some classy HD or may it be 4K from one of your Lumix G7 plastic fantastic cameras with a 28mm vintage of your choice on a focal reducer. Then we are already two of us as part of a 28mm challenge. Maybe Tom will jump in too with his Pentax Hollywood. Might test mine as well. So that´s some good camera lovin. It all starts with a worthy camera like a G7.:) Luk started with a Canon 550D I think. Crap, that he seemingly took his old school stuff off. Love these lowfi DSLM craze classics.
  13. Love the colours you achieved with your Nokia. @webrunner5 The highlight area is GH2 style though, consequent in its realizaton into super white and dynamic and fast in doing so. 🙂
  14. I wouldnt mind a Leica M9 🙂 @webrunner5 Are you selling yours?:)
  15. Tasty cinema, so to say in a leisure manner. Beautiful cinema to say in a more fitting way. @Emanuel It looks like Luk has taken his old school Dslr showpiece shorts off of youtubs. They were fun and engaging pieces, a great motivation to grab a cam and create. Pretty cool, his giveaways. I also remember his Gh5 moody short, which has a stunning anamorphic parallax shot in it. Anyway, just wanted to share his offering above and write about my little personal experience and feelings regarding his older channel.

    Panasonic GH6

Iso 2000 at f14 is equivalent to f3.5 at iso 500, Let´s even say the GH6 is to be rated on stop lower than indicated by factory, it would be F3.5 at Iso 250 with a shutterspeed set to 50. That sounds hard or not possible to believe in the land of sun @FoxAdriano. I would at that point like to shy away from discussing that kind of exposure, if you allow. If you use higher shutter speeds, then I will believe in physics again. 🙂
  17. Holy cow! That part is the most gruesome! @FHDcrew "Great review, you have captured perfectly what was expressed, it is appreciated that you have shared it, I liked how you express yourself in your videos, congratulations..--" Yikes!
  18. I had instantly loved Luk Neumanns shortfilms and BTS clips back then when I also started reading beautiful Eoshd. Full force content with fun and crafts skills and nothing but that! So checking out @Emanuels latest post about 4K 120p drone galore, now that was a lot of car whorshipping for my taste:), I saw Luks drone video in Iceland in that thread and I was stunned again by his generousity in creating and sharing content and by its quality. Anyway, here is a beautiful video, one of his latest. I had scrambled eggs with grilled tomatoes while watching it and I am taking a zipp from my coffee. NOW.:) Hmm, tasty. So here is the video I wanna share with you. cheers and have a great day and enjoy the flavours of good food. 🙂 Dont get irritated by the headline though it´s true and a tasty treat.
  19. @TomTheDP gives me an idea. We all could do a 28mm at F2.8 challenge. Btw, I will reread this tasty thread now, with some scrambled eggs with grilled tomatoes on German Brötchen and a big fat coffee with milk. Glimpsing at our friend @andy lee mentioning the beautiful and cheap Canon FD 28mm 2.8 gives me chills. One of my all time favorite and for sure dearest lenses. Filming with it wide open in S35 format is a thrill to me. It has almost as much resolution as the Panny 20mm pancake and can still be bought for 20 to 30EUR if lucky. So for a great image it does not take a Pentax Hollywood, but many other 28mm lenses can do a great job. The tiny Canon FD delivered most spectacular images to me. So how about that 28mm F2.8 challenge? By the way, I couldnt resist and grabbed a Hollywood for 450EUR with postage and fee. A lot of money for me but I am so happy, after seven or so years of drooling. Not only that, but I got the Pentax M F2 as well a couple months ago. Still, the challenge 28 at 2.8. Let´s do it, cool cats! 🙂
  20. Oh, kewl, you are the person who did the video! Thanks for doing and for sharing! cheers
  21. A bit akward to watch but thank you. Your Colour matching looks very well done! What I found akward that sometime I had to guess which camera was which, despite that the youtuber made some very specific statements about the better looking of the two cameras in comparison. Varicam LT would be an exiting prospect. Also would love to see an intense and relevant comparision between the LT and the S1H.
  22. Oh beautiful thread! Tasty treat, yummy read! The Hollywood Pentax now rather goes for 600 to 800 EUR, some for even more, a very few ones for around 500, if lucky. More about that some other time.:) I think Andrews article put me on to this lens, because how else would I have been on the track for that lens back then! So Besides spectacular optical qualities, we know from reading and some of us from testing, that the Hollywoods field curvature gives it some of its additional 3D pop compared to other 28mm lenses. Still, there is an elephant in the room, from what I read many years ago. It is the 28mm Pentax M or A F2.0. I had found a site back then, which compared optical goodness, mainly resolution in favor of the Pentax M/A. The Pentax forum states the opposite. Unfortunately I cannot find that testchart anymore. Maybe someone can put some light into this.
  23. Amadeusz Andrzejewski stated that HD on the S1H in S35 was very good and much better than coming from the whole sensor. It was a predroduction model. I haven´t seen any other tests for HD quality on the S line cameras. So here is the small glimpse from 10.30min to around 10.40min, testing for up to 25p only, after that it´s interlaced for some reason. I never tested it myself on my S1. I only know that HD never wowed me, whereas GH5 in HD did. I didnt find the live crop mode on my S1. I really think there is none! Checked some youtube videos for the S5 and S1H I think. No luck for S1 users. Well, 30p anyway. 😉
  24. Regarding smartphones, as our friends have stated above, the thread about "RAW video on a smartphone" is very exiting to follow.
