  1. @webrunner5Yes, Don, I think an OG Bmpcc with a cheap 10, 25 and 50mm C-mount might be easier to approach. Zeek just makes it look without hassle looking at it from my superficial perspective. I tested my Bmmcc only once and it looked perfect to my eye. It is not a hasslefree camera regarding rigging though. Out of the box the Eos M appears to be a fun camera once set up with the right ML settings. Thank you for the infos! @tupp It's interesting that we are looking for the perfect personal camera from different ends, looking at high end hybrids like r5, s1h, a7s3, xt3 cams and from the low end as well. I love low end cameras and i love this thread.:)
  2. Hallo Don, i think, i found an answer. The 2.5K mode uses almost half of the x-axis 5184 pixels of the Eos M sensor. That would equal about 10.7mm as the Eos M sensor counts 22.2mm sensor width. The og pocket counts 12.48mm width. So Magic Lantern Raw is providing a smaller sensor area than the OG Bmpcc.
  3. Eos M has a 3x bitrate hack as well for the hardcore 8bit wizzards.:) Allowing massive S35 sensor size instead that tiny Super8 gate. What window size does Magic Lantern Raw allow on the Eos M? Super 16 would rock.
  4. @leslie You might wanna consider an additional IR cut filter when using stronger NDs. All BM cameras suffer rather strongly from IR polution. They also prefer 5600k over pure tungsten. Great idea with lego lighting.:) cheers

    Panasonic GH6

Sdi, timecode, internal nds, a Super35 sensor with full VLog and Varicam color, an Oplf filter plus the announced specs, all that in a robust body with the outstanding battery life of the Lumix GH series! Percect dream (camera:). The Gh4 could be coupled with a sdi and xlr extension. Why not offer something like that for the Gh6, just (much) smaller with a much more elegant power solution.
  6. @projectwoofer Well, it does give you that but only out of the micro hdmi.😊 That's sick, all that huge data through that tiny micro hdmi port. But seriously, a 4999 EUR camera without a professional monitoring solution. I mean, i really expected a sdi port. The BSH1 has it , though no FF 4k50p and no internal raw.
  7. The supposely wrong info was taken from the bh website. The author from diyphoto stated that in the comment section. 10bit photo raw is what my lumix g6 did in electronic shutter mode, lol. Must be wrong.
  8. Micro Hdmi means, no monitoring for your director or focus puller. I don't like that at all. 4500usd will buy the ongoing camera owner a brandnew Ursa Broadcast 2G with the sensor from the Pocket 6k, nds, sdi, evf, shouldermount, b4,- ef and pl- mount. It sells for 3500 brandnew without the evf. For the difference of 1000usd one could get a used Lumix S5 or for a bit more a used S1R with 45mpix photo love.

Great to see some love for the 135mm focal length. Beautiful shots @BTM_Pix Would love to see a video of that. What codec and resolution did you choose? I have a Konica 35-100mm f2.8, which I wanna test. At 2.8 it is very challenging to focus at all distances and focal lengths. Very, very challenging! Would make an external monitor really necessary for video. It's a varifical lens, focussing up to 30mm at 35mm and to about 80mm at 100mm focal length. A solid 135mm should do the trick and make it much easier to focus. There is no representative footage out there with this lens, only some 30 sec kitchen sink videos.
  10. It's not a cinema camera with a micro hdmi, unless you wanna use calibrated cinema quality glass from rental houses. Then you can have your focus pulled using measuring tape and super precise blocking at f8 in FF mode. But then with that kinda budget the director might still want to monitor the frame to see what that 8k resolution is capturing. Micro Hdmi, what an odd but also Canon like decision. Rather get an Ursa mini 12k for 1500 USD more.
  11. @Hannes Famira Afaik, with the 444 RGB upgrade the F3 spits out 10 bit 444, with choice for either Slog (1:) or Rec709, so no linear 12bit+. High quality 10bit Log with a sufficient codec equals or betters 12bit linear Raw, if I got Alister Chapman right, who has done tests with the FS700 and FS7 regarding that. You can read it on his website. I found one source, stating for 12bit output but that's one vs a majority ofsources. 444 does not for higher framerates than 24p I think, for sure not higher than 30p. You need a recorder like Pix, Odyssey or Cinedeck for 444. Blackmagic does 422 though. With the 444 RGB upgrade one can record up to 60p in 10bit 422 to a 3G Blackmagic VA and the other recorders as well. People have stated the 422 material is very good.
  12. @kye, perfectly put! Thanks, mate! Interesting enough, not much exiting footage from S1H filmers on the web. This one would be another one of the very few. Though with over the top saturated hues from leds and some mushyness in the darker areas. I like the overall colour palette and boldness:
  13. From what I got from you, Andrew and Emanuel, and from what I found on youtube, these are some low budget options: -One Plus 7t Pro (video below- Thanks Emanuel for poiniting out- I didnt get that info at first sight) -Mi 10 (Thanks Andrew, looks like a kewl device even without RAW video) -LG G8s -LGv50 -IQOO 5 -Poco X3 (this one would be a guess, from the other five phones above is footage floating around with supposely Raw clips recorded with the Motoion Cam App) So friends, go ahead and research this interesting field. Cannot wait to see some footage. One thing I recognize, the first testers show some enjoyable footage, just like the pioneers back then with their first GH1, 5D2 footage. Some great little clips from these enthusiasts!
  14. The Yongnuo YN455 has Android 10. The snapdragon processor is the 660 version though. Does not look too good even compared to the 855 which the LG V50 has. How about the Poco X3? https://nanoreview.net/en/soc-compare/qualcomm-snapdragon-855-vs-qualcomm-snapdragon-660
  15. Great advice! Thanks, Andrew! Some of the newer footage looks indeed like from a BMPCC in 4K. Possibly, from what I read, other budget options could be LG G8s and LGv50. I am wondering if the android driven MFT camera would do- the Yongnuo YN455. It has a Snapdragon 660 in it. So, don´t know if that would work or not.
  16. I like the original question because it inspires perspectives on size, ergonomy and camera choices. So, silly me, I decided to buy a BMMCC and so I did. But what reasons for? I got attracted by the cute size, by the prospect of cutely sized files in Prores LT and a great image to size ratio. I will see how that plays out regarding lenses. Tevidon lenses are not that easy to rig. After all small size is not a virtue by itself I figure.
  17. I agree with the DP of the Komodo and Sony vids, the Komodo footage looks much better, like from another league. Not a fan of the A7iv video.
  18. Best color I´ve seen so far from the S series. Blacks are a bit too crushed for my taste, even though I do like a rich and contrasty look.
  19. Would love, if the Lumix CM1 phone was able to pull some binned HD off. But it has 2gig of ram only, so below the required specs of the motion app. @Andrew Reid Do you still have a CM1 to test? That would be super kewl!
  20. Nice web presentation. Very pleasing to look at. Like it! Go OM, go!:)
  21. I think the Laowa 7.5 F2 does not have AF and weights a little bit more than 150g. Other than that I am pretty close.:)
  22. I think for a newbie this could be an interesting choice of a camera. Brandon Li was one of the very few people on the net who was able to get somewhat nice colours from this camera though, in my eyes. His Autumn leaves color profile became pretty popular back then.
  23. You mean the bmmcc or the og pocket? A steal! I paid 650 for my bmmcc with cage, rawlite filter, npf battery adapter, hdmi and breakthough box, plus shipping from Litvia.
  24. Have been asking myself the same for a EVF which was bulit for the mft Olympus cameras or the one for the Lumix GX1. Elegant, small size EVFs for cinemacameras are non existent, which I find akward. I also find monitors to be on the bulky side for smaller setups such as with DSLMs or with a BMMCC.

@leslie You could also get a cheapo focal reducer with 0.71 factor instead for less than 90USD. Yeah, following the route BTMPix is describing has all the mentioned advantages. A single adapter solution could provied better fit without the jiggle of a seconde adapter and without uncertainties such as lacklaster infinity focus due to mediocore quality of second adapter and so on.
