Now available - EOSHD Pro Color V4 HDR for Sony A7 III and A7R III
PannySVHS replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Hey, great colors! Would you mind posting this or another video shot with your A7iii? cheers -
seemingly something caused the fail, the seemingly flawed result, as it does not go along with my findings. Seemingly. Hard to believe that clipped footage is representing inferriour dr instead of a flawed test. Could be early date and sofore nle incompatibilities and different interpretation of material in the nle. different 0-255 ,16-235 in camera settings or interpretation in nle. If your findings are different I am sure it will influence your buying decision as you have posted a few posts ago. LIke I stated, sensor and/or pipe is much better in gh5 for video. My two cents and many of words.

FF HD, is it C100/300 quality? Is it 10bit via HDMI for HD as well? CLog works in HD as well? Full HDMI port? If four times yes, this is something interesting for trying out. Waiting for Z6 material and HD quality. Rolling shutter and IBIS might be deciding factor.

I´ve seen footage with better DR from GH5 than in vids from GH4, just not comparisons. If there are any besides the seemingly failed one from the tester above, always interesting to see of course. I compared both cameras in moderate lowlight and GH4 got smoked big, big time in video. Big n nasty blocks and blotches in the GH4 footage vs. none in GH5 footage. GX85 is much better in 4K than GH4 as well in lowlight. Thats just technical progress in sensor and camera tech.
-
DR on GH5 is higher for photos. Why should it be less for video?:) Especially in lowlight it provides more usuable information than a GH4. If used in 10bit, no contest at all. GH4 looks outdated in comparison. Maybe tester did a mistake in the 0 255 setting, maybe codec is not the same, though both at 100mbit 8bit, leaving errors when interpreting footage in Premiere. Nonetheless, interested in seeiny tonysss´ test! BMCC, one tasty camera! GX80 4K in Natural gives me one beautiful image! So, cool to see that kid in the test as well, hopefully.

Panasonic announcing a full frame camera on Sept. 25???
PannySVHS replied to Trek of Joy's topic in Cameras
Would love to see that combo. Sounds very tasty.:) -
Andrew, your articles and visual pieces are an awesome asset of your site, which gets not taken use of enough. Articles of yours like below are pure GOLD. And you have done so many of them. Beautiful essays with insights into technical, artistic and social aspects. True treasures. It is your own original content, Andrew! Andrew Reid: "I like Berlin because it still has a ramshackle nature to it, and it is so unique compared to the usual capitalist conformist city." And here is the article of yours I just read. You´ve been doing this for a long time. Awesome and positive and insightful. Keep it going and without too much anger, Andrew, you, our very good friend from the interwebs! https://www.eoshd.com/2011/06/burnt-out-philip-bloom-end-of-the-world-challenge/ Btw, unfortunately Berlin has become exactely that, "a usual capitalist conformist city", as you put it. I would not have thought so myself until three years ago or so:/ Edit: Also this one is gold: "If you only ever shoot shallow, you are only using half the creative expression available, for example, that famous deep depth of field classic Citizen Kane wouldn’t have looked as good had it been shot at F1.4 on a 5D Mark II!" :)

Panasonic announcing a full frame camera on Sept. 25???

That with low rolling shutter and full VLOG curve and all the good stuff from the m43 GH5, all that for 3000, would be my first FF digital camera! Hard to believe though! -
Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p
PannySVHS replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
delicious colors. tasty treat! yummy! Z6 is an exiting prospect indeed. Very exiting! -
Yeah, interesting enough, despite a planned out marketing effort by BM, there does not seem to be much compelling footage out there. So, who knows what the strategy of the marketing team has been. I remember the BMCC footage from John Brawley, that was some launch material to make a camera shine! And Andrews BMCC material in that tunnel in Berlin was tasty as heck! Gonna check his Bolex footage now he shot in Eastberlin. Later:)
-
@Andrew Reid you are passionate, very passionate beyond the consequences one should be willing to take for it sometimes:) John Brawleys words have been a bit cold, just cold enough to react to that with heat and temper. And so you did. I am happy to see your hurts go away now slowly. I hope @John Brawley stays on this forum. He just had to put up with a bit too many weird comments in this bmpcc4k thread. Still, he might have liked to have shown more of his kindness towards you which he has been directing towards some akwards posts instead. His patiences has been stetched a bit much sometimes on this thread. You both are super cool cats, just with hot tempers as well. And ain´t that a great thing, that passion! Thank you both for that! Now please let´s all be passionate friends and filmmakers and nerds again, like we´ve been before. There would still be enough room for passion and honest articles and essays even without anger and pain! cheers

@Andrew Reid Andrew, what I meant was to express that you would have liked to have been there. No apologetic approach, just the matter of a simple fact. I think that is an honest and confident and proud and relaxed way to go by. The marketing newbies for the event didnt know any better. I based many of my camera and gear purchases on infos from your site. I also recommended a lot of stuff to other people, based on your reviews and forum. The marketing pros of BM know your sites dynamics and influence. They just let the apprentices do the job. It´s common to do so. If that would be the case. Don´t begin to invite spitters. Keep on inviting the cool cats like you always have been. Don´t start to cook for company execs but for you and your friends. Just the way you always have, Andrew! That´s why your site is so cool. Of course an open house gets to be visited by people who don´t respect the spirit and soul of the house. They will leave soon enough by themselves if you don´t waste your hospitality and attention on them. Put up a pantheon for you and your cool site. Then it´s more fun to buy stuff for testing instead of putting your very own money on the line all the time. best and cheers

The rumor stats at personal view are gruesome. Hope they are false. Why a GH6 rumor anyway? Why at personal view? Where is the GH3 hack?
-
@Andrew Reid, you are very passionate about the things you do and great things they are. I believe the event was organised by typical marketing people, not the people who you were talking about. Write them a note that you would have really enjoyed to have been at the Manchester event and they will appreciate that honesty and expess their gratitude for your great work in the course of affordable cameras with a cinematic image. Great song! Legendary video! Thanks! :)

not for a possible A7siii. so i felt, threads headline was raising too high of my expectations. Good thing I got some entertainment with some kinotika videos right after that. Fun channel and pleasure to watch.
-
With all the original GH5 goodies including IBIS and battery life plus D850 or A7III low light and maybe full VLOG, it would THE option. Hard to believe though. We will see. Looking forward to see what use you might put a Z6 to. Loved your D750 footage back then.
-
Topic of this thread was misleading me to believe there was a rumor about a 10bit Sony. There has not been one yet. The new Nikons on the other hand are 10bit full HDMI beasts for granted! And that with Nikon colors! My headline for this thread: "Sony a7s3 with 8bit for sure and flip out screen, no word about 10bit" :)

Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p
PannySVHS replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Gee, I was always impressed by the HD image of the D750, later very impressed by the quality of the the 850s video in 4K. With Nikons new babies we get all that FF glory and Nikon colors and robust codec in external 10bit now and some new LOG format. All that with IBIS and many mirrorless goodies in FF size. I´m super exited! Exited to see what you guys gonna do with it! -
I must say I´m not impressed with the cinema5d aircraft footage. The colors look good but not better than Canon, Nikon or the latest Lumix colors, rather less so. I am wondering about the topic of this video as for marketing this camera. The narrator does seem to admire his sujet more than the task of testing a camera. People in the graded screenshots look angry. Maybe they are upset about their skintones or they are preparing for some holy cause of cruisade. Either way, I don´t think the author of this neither Fuji did themselves a favour with this minidoc.

EVA1 vs Terra 4k or Mavo vs FS5 II - decisions!
PannySVHS replied to Oliver Daniel's topic in Cameras
Noooot:) You don´t want that package of cameras nor gimbal boredom but to get one massive Panny camera for all that money instead, staying true to the roots but upping the GAS game. Varicam LT, one camera for all your money! Honestly, cannot wait to see your EVA footage! Congrats! -
Hey, nice mood for sure! What noise reduction did you use? What were your settings? Second shot looks perfect. cheers

color with fs700 plus raw update and external recording with shogun flame in 4K 422 prores (10bit) is massive. would buy one if price was right. the external recording via raw update makes this an image quality monster for indy filmers.
