You are not trolling, I hope! http://www.newsshooter.com/2017/11/16/wooden-camera-creates-pl-mount-panasonic-eva1/ Bye:)

eva 1 and all sorrows are gone:)

Plus, you have the same roll off at 2500ISO. And your footage proves that. Your graded version shows especially awesome color at that ISO! One can shoot this little beast like it was a C300MK1 in 4K and 10bit.

The A7S/II had messed up the usual 2 ISO steps difference between FF and m43 and made it a 3.5 ISO stop gap. The GH5s has put it back on to normal ground now regarding DP RAW chart. The S has a 1.5 ISO step gain above the GH5, in video 2, making it possible to shot at ISO 6400 in lowlight, with over all better looking video at ISOs up to 12800 in lowlight compared to the Sony A7s. By the way, EXIF shows they used CC 2015 for the A7s and CC 2017 for the GH5s as their RAW converter.

If it would not be in sync, there would not be much sense in posting. Even if not in sync, same 10mm lens and still wider fov on the stabilized footage. So this is wrong. I´m leaving this thread at this point now to leave space for others to discuss this and so I don´t cause this thread to bloat like the GH5s thread did.:) cheers

If Jon has not replied yet, I must, in his name, say yes, Sir!
-
Muaha, lol! Look at the stabilizied version, it has a wider fov than the unstabilized one. Muaha!
-
@DBounce, The GH5s will exactly satisfy that need. From what I´ve seen 6400 ISO on the S model is better than 1600 ISO on the GH5.

You understand me, Emanuel. Thank you:)

Well, the shot looks like she was a scream queen from a Dario Argento color fest, doesn´t she? I just didn´t worry about logical color nor about polluted highlights. It still looks creamy and luscious, just not accurate but giving the estimation of a cinematic image, still miles ahead of DSLM color, being rich and luxurious.:)

Exellent point! I was hoping to get one of these elegant beautiful cameras for a small price, so to say as a poor mans Digital Bolex. But it would have to be the other way around, the Digital Bolex being the 2K 24p version of a poor mans AJA:)

Max is a great teacher but it would be cool two have the same content with less real time:) Cut the same fantastic content from a 27min video to a 15min video. Great knowledge, just a little, little bit much real time action.:)
-
I figured that you wouldnt be a fan of the rendering, after reading your reply:) Horses for courses- I like that saying much better. But with language too- horses for courses. Camera had firmware updates, that I know.

Posted example is interesting. Please note in the uncorrected raw footage, how there is almost no up and down shake in the y-axis above and below the model. Looks like filmer used the GH5 in stabilized mode on accident, rotating it on the z axis mostly. Ups and downs above and below the model look good enough in the raw footage already.

I love the look of the reel. Looks like oil paint with some touches into Dario Argento land. Art was all about logically correct color and editing bonanza, plus he has nothing agaiinst stills photographers. That´s great to read. Gross- I find this not to be the term, which inspired me to start this thread, that´s for sure.

The AJA has 60p 4K, 2k and some other stuff. Don´t know if the BMPC4K has RAW in its 2K or HD modes beside having it in 4K. Don´t know if it has compressed RAW like the BMCC 2.5K has. The 4K Ursa mini seems to offer what the AJA provides, large variety of framerates, and that in RAW as well. Sensor is said to be the same, providing global shutter. Nice! Posted that video in the GH5s thread to make everybody calm down a bit from the heat of conversation.:) Such awesome image!
-
Alert! A lot of the footage looks suspicious. Of the very few videos on vimeo, you can see some obvious fakes. In one of them the stabilized footage has a wider FOV than the shaky footage. Not nice. So, alert!

The Aja Cion is a well known camera. It provides astonishing, rich and subtle color and encourages the search and appreciation for the beauty of light. Unlike other cameras, which are abused to promote the appreciation for artefacts in crappy light or no-light, such as the exellent DSLM by the name of Sony A7sii. The AJA shows, just like the BMProduction Camera or the Digital Bolex, that a luxurious, luscious look can be easily achieved with 12 stops of DR. No DSLM comes close to this beautiful representation and rendering of color and light.

Muaha, Jon, please. The only ones trolling around this thread are the A7s2 ambassadors. They are not trolls, because they like a camera. They are putting an impression on me like they were trolls, because they keep repeating the same unfactual statements over and over again. One of the trolls regarding another subject finally hast started to behave very nicely. He has become one of the biggest admirers of Sigma and Veydra lenses now and has been complimenting you work like many of us. So things are still very nice on this forum:) Here is a video with beautiful out of the box aja cion colors, reminds me of the Varicam LT signature despite its 2 stops less DR:

I would indeed preorder the GH5s with a full VLOG curve and zero sharpening. Good thing I have a reason to save my money:) Full VLOG and zero sharpening for that true varicam image would have been the perfect trade off for me. Maybe I just get a 5D3 instead. I will see. First got to get the tedious editing process for my short done before startin anything new. Haven´t even shot my G7 yet besides a blank wall in CineD profile, seriously! Edit: Muaha, I just imagined buying a GH5 or GH5s and just shooting a test with it but prefering to take my G6 with me instead as my every day cam, because I don´t want to run around with valuables. GH5s collecting dust in the locker in front of the wall, which I shot for my CineD test
-
That has hardly been done on the net so far. Only by a very few people, putting it into beast mode for cinema production, what it´s been made for. Great point! Such a fantastic camera the GH5!
-
My friend, trust Zak and me on the VLOG vs VLOG-L figure. 12stop and great color is nice. An awesome 12stop image is still better than a shitty 14stop one. Ever shot internal 8bit SLOG2 on a FS700, lol? Ever shot a 11 stop image with the Digital Bolex? Now the latter one is an image I would love to see in any of the new cameras!
-
You are hyped about something, I see. I would call that exitement.:) Easy task, no need for a speedbooster here.
-
f8 plus 25k for a7s would be the same as f4 plus 6400 for gh5s regarding light gathering and dof, putting the GH5s into an advantage for a CINEMATIC image, A7s showing nasty artefacts, GH5s absent of any of these nasties and with much more vivid color. Additionally I would put my speedbooster on it and put "my":) GH5s on F5.6, equalling the DOF of f11 on the A7s.

It´s the best ISO 3200/6400 image, if you are after a cinematic image, not last resort kind of images seeing into the nolight areas. At lower ISOs it´s up there with the big boys, which the Sony is very far from being so. At lower ISOs the Sony has an image I can can reproduce and better easily with a 350 dollar Lumix G7.
