    GH1/GH2 Hack

Hey Glenn, 100% d´accord:) Back2Basics sounds great. Up to Matt. Using a zoom, awesome. Got my Tokina 28-70 2.6, Nikon mount, boosted on my EF booster. Helluva awesome lens, beautiful image, no sweat wide open. Optically it is much better than my 24-40 2.8. Sorry to have to say. Didn´t your GAS lead you to that tasty 28-70? Well, this lens is a real beauty, brushing it off of dust every day:)
  2. @meanwhile Thanks. The G85 had real troubles before the firmware update. I have a GX85 though:), with updated FW. The GX didnt have these troubles though.
  3. @meanwhile, thanks for testing. I just tested panning without IBIS. It seems it is pretty much the same mess. What works very well are tracking movements, vertical and horizontal, are without jitter, even faster ones! Anybody willing to do a test as well and maybe post a short vid? Of either GX85 and G85. I don´t mean a pan, which follows a moving subject/object. What´s meant is a pan over a nonmoving background/object, which is entering one side of the frame and leaving to the other side by panning over it with the camera.
  4. @Hene1, your video looks awesome, exellent color work! Is all the footage done with the NX1?
  5. @MKSN, Thanks to your post I found Hene1´s settings in the NX1 section. Straight forward: "Normal Gamma, 0-255, Standard picture mode (0.95x green, -10 sharpness)"
  6. Doing it with my camera is a mess. Never had these problems with my Panny G6.
  7. Hallo guys! I am in the preparation a little shortfilm and want to shoot handheld. The GX85 is an interesting prospect. Nice ooc color, really great color by grading it. The IBIS is great except from one thing, where it is not usuable to me at all. It´s a great mess when panning over an inanimate background. Panning slowly with 20, 28, 35mm, same problem, really nasty jitter. Following moving subjects is fine, since the subject is kept within the frame. But as soon as I want to to a pan over non moving objects, entering one side of the frame and leaving to the other, JITTERRRRR! That jitter should be a headline for legimate clickbait, other than classic clickbait headlines!:) It is awful. My question goes to GX85 and G85 shooters, if the have similar problems with panning over non moving objects/backgrounds/subjects? Might it be a specific GX85 problem, might there be a cure for it. Is the G85 without this problem or is it a general problematic occurance with Panny IBIS? Your help is greatly appreciated, as this is driving me nuts. The short has only a short time window as always with super small scale non budget fictional efforts. Thank you! cheers, Marty

    GH1/GH2 Hack

Awesome idea, you guys, Matt and Glenn! Perfect little manifesto below. Deal! We could open a thread for this and for discussing ideas, for questions and support. You guys would come up with the name and would be posting the manifesto/rules below. I think something like this might sound cool, after it took me 5mins to write it:) " -- GH2 and friends -- THE ULTIMATE EOSHD GLORIOUS 8bit COLOR shortfilm challenge -- Open til 12-31"
  9. Absolutely! Would be nice, if Andrew would have a chance to revise this camera. It has an awesome, unique look. How awesome would it be to see a comparison with your Fuji XT2!:) G85 cannot compete in the ooc color department.
  10. Now I got it: "Bring it on", Kirsten Dunst. I love her. I got baited beyond the level I could have assumed by the movie "Bring it on":) Maybe not, duh. This is not a movie about beards, it is about Panny 8 bit HD. I have to learn more how to clickbait. I think I could learn it from this interesting masterclass, you have been a testimonial for

    GH1/GH2 Hack

Would join in. -Panasonics: GH1,2,3 and G3,5,6 and GF1,2,3 and GM1,5 and GX7. -Canon DSLRs in h264 -Nikon DSLRs -Olympus DSLMs None of the 4K bunch. No fixed lens ones. -one exception: GX85 in HD mode, because it would be awesome to have a legit short film with it. Plus I might shoot mine with it. Oh well
  12. Hey people! the way to avoid clickbait ist to engage in the attempt of creating it a way too much. That way people will get annoyed hopefully. Unless the psychology behind different strategies is much trickier. I think it is. Dataminers will give clues to content shitters how to bait for clicks even with the most stupidest shit. So the best data analysis and realization will allow for successful clickbaiting. Duh, that is obvious common sense, you say. Well you still clicked this topic and language and social behaviour analysis will put this into context as well. So one needs to be so cheesy in clickbaiting that it only attracts people nobody can make an immorally earned dollar with. Here it goes my cheesy clickbaiting, which I am not making a dollar with. Tata, check out my 8bit GX85 unlit footage, only brittle HD. Isn´t that still looking kinda cool? Isn´t that a good reason to not to get baited by techsites and their clickbait headlines and to realize how awesome cameras have become. Is it weird that I keep going forward and backward with my thread and topic? Well, sometimes it is just so much fun to engage in a conversation with you guys. Because you rock. And because you deserve yourself your own little bit of clickbait. But only a little bit. Just like mine. Now for the fourth time on EOSHD. Dadaaaaa, video! The music is awesome for granted
  13. Quiete interesting. I dropped by this thread because it´s from Mattias. Sometimes I just like to read the mellow down to earth stuff from people I like. Then I saw, Fuzzy wrote something. And I feel like I want to engage in a conversation. So I just did. This site allows and even more promotes that. Even though, you suckers didnt click my bait, you sons n daughties of bitches! You know how much I love to talk Panny Lumix 8bit stuff
  14. Lookin great! I dig Natural profile as well, due to lack of CineD,V, shooting with -5sharpening and NR, -2 or 0 color and contrast. Interesting that you left sharpness on. Nice look and video!
  15. Ah, shot 3. Will you revise the camera? This filmmaker has really put other cameras to shame with his NX1 and a lot of NX1 shooters even more. It was shot with the native premium zoom, which NX1 lovers seem to cherish a lot:
  16. Out of likes. Fundamental post! Blackstone are cunts and dicks. To say it with love, sorry, dicks and cunts to have connected you to Blackstone!
  17. Hey, he did not mean people with aspergers. That´s for sure. You don´t need to feel upset, believe me. regards, Marty Sometimes people get upset in an instant. Nothing to gain from that situation. Would be beautiful, if this thread can go back to its topic. I will avoid posting my teaser for a third time on this forum, ahm, I meant for the forth time. You suckers are just too hard to be baited! Andrew, your chance to push the like button under my video. It´s a GX85 for the sake of camerateasin and lovin!
  18. I thought, this thread would be ideal to promote my shortfilm. I thought this is the place to sparkle enthusiasm, if one shoots with contrast and color at zero! Hot darn, I must be a stinker!
  19. I hate it, when I´m out of likes for the day! We are not the ones described above. I agree with your general remark, just not with the occasion. I mean, none of the EOSHD crowd would need to feel described by "Ass burger" anyway. Mattias post is more valid than ever. It´s a threat to forum culture how platforms like Cinema5D and Dpreview have been turning into clickbait for clickbaited audiences. By the way, clickbait, here is mine GX85, HD 24p, 12mm SLRMagic, natural profile with contrast and color 0, rest-5, unlit, Teaser for my upcoming Vampire short.
  20. Hey Mattias, this forum has inspired me to shoot. Maybe without this community I wouldnt have been a nerd with an obsession for 8bit Panny Lumix color:) As long as we are keeping up the manners, this great forum is gonna stay. I bought a Tevidon thanks to you. 16mm 1.8, beauty! Just too lazy to hassle with purchasing an adapter now. cheers!
  21. With me it´s: 10 months later- GX85- how am I liking it. Well, that skinny HD 24p 8bit codec gave me something I would call color mojo. Shot in classic Natural. I bet the GH5 will be a monsterous color monster with its 10bit and flawless HD, not even to speak of the 4K. So here, finally my first footage with my GX85 which is a mini G85 which is a mini GH5:)
  22. My GX85 teaser footage for my upcoming shortfilm. Shot in natural, 1080 24p. Crushed blacks, blown highlights and posterization, I know Oh my, it´s just an unlite concept for a short, giving me some ideas how I wanna light it. Shoot is end of August.
  23. Hallo, haven´t you been shooting with the GH5 for a while and being unsatisfied about its lack of a zero sharpening setting? By the way, love your GH4 stuff, especially "Americana"!
  24. @meanwhile, have you been a member of this forum before and have you been an exited and avid Canon Ti shooter with interest in lens modding?
  25. With my GX85 it works nicely, up and down movements stabilized, tilts as well. Pans not working well, only for the classic Pennebaker handheld style for connecting shots and following movements. As soon as it is about static objects to pan along, jitter is killing the image with my specific GX85 camera. That´s true and it avoids jitter very well. Your ellusive shooting style of daily life vignettes reflects that well, floating with the flow, letting the viewer forget the camera completely and allowing him to concetrate on the subjects and events and sights. I am a little bit sad, that for background panning I cannot really use my camera with IBIS, only following movements in Pennebaker style.
