  1. Arrgh! That last shot- beautiful! What focal lenght did you use on that one? Was that using the complete area of the 36mmx24mm sensor or what kind of crop factor? Got myself another tokina, the 25-50 f4 and a sigma zoom master 35-70 2.8-4 for really cheap! Liking the Tokina 24 -40 f2.8 so far, great mechanics and to hold in hand and work it. Though I think on my lens T Stop is rather a 3.8 instead of 2.8. I tested it against the beautiful pocketcam oly xz10, little marvel it is.

Hey Kidz! Looking really beautiful, you and G80 pushing it color wise, this is really exellent! Color and contrast at -5 and pushed back in post? Lens looking fantastic too at 3.5! 20mm boosted- guess gotta play little more with my fd 20mm 2.8, which hasnt seen much love yet. wow! color and lens lookin fantastic! I thought Gregmannschafts video looked super awesome with your Gfilm settings! Thanx for sharing!
  3. Hey, please stay. I too find some threads not as insteresting as some other ones. But this forum has a million awesome posts. Just type eoshd plus your wanted information in google and you have a great and informative and cheerful read. Just keep up the conversation with the people you enjoy about topics you enjoy. Having followed in the past some of your posts, I can tell that you had a lot of fun here. So why not sticking around or at least dropping by once in a while. cheers Edit: I pressed the like button for agreeing on the thirst for more lively topics, NOT for the leaving part though! cheers
  4. Really seeing the same. Some lovely stuff and it´s an unique color signature as well. One thing, about this popular vlogger besides Casey- what is so exiting about his vlogs? I find Caseys vids fun and joyful and full of positivity. The "other" guys videos, on the contraray, didnt connect with me yet.

Hot darn! This is looking sweet! Wide open on G85? Just checked the x resolution. 2048px, what the cinema 2k heck is up with that! Oh, can you please post that footage? This looks awesome! Is this in Cine D, all zero but sharpness at -5? What iso, 2/3 underexposed? Oh, so many questions! Sorry bout that:) cheers
  6. Now, that looks very sweet. I think this is an awesome setting for a mood piece. Would you like to share some footage? Really awesome looking. So how do you like canon raw from the 5diii vs black magic raw? By the way, what monopod are you using in your videos? I think I remember you did use one, didnt you? Always loving your camera movements and framing.

Hey Geoff, is that an m-mount lens? On your Sony A7s? Thats like a 14mm on s35. Now I am interested to see if my eye prooved my right I have the Canon FD 20mm F2.8, beautiful made lens. But would guess it has a tstop of 3.5+ though. Your lens lookin great. Remember the aperture? Did you shoot it with your color settings? Mind showing some footage with your voigtlaender? cheers
  8. Darn you! But now you committed to shooting and showing a lot of cool footage with it:)
  9. Log is log. Eoshd color is magic! That is much better, hasslefree awesome color! You´re giving Jimmy the Don Rickles all the time. You must love him. Can you gimme some of that too? Edit: Hot darn! Just checked EOSHD Vivid Skintone, looking awesome! Andrew would you like to post the video with that beautiful color and the beautiful talent in front of your camera? Would love to see that in motion!
  10. Hallo Ed, gh12345 is one part of this very thread I started. The other part of it are you guys, your passion and inventive approaches to actually create pieces of meaning, shapes and light and movement and so, with impact of different kinds and strengths. To me this forum seems a good place to be at, with its 123456 members, Ed, Zach and the other ones of us 123454 people:) Hey Merce! A6000 has a nicer body and control I wouldnt want to resist, if I had to decide:) Good night, my friend.
  11. Awesome piece, Matt! Beautiful and beautifully done. Have been thinking about the A6000 for lens reasons lately, having really cheap wide angles at hand with a focal reducer. Well, watching the B-roll now!:) Oh, and Happy Birthday, Matt!:) Edit: Oh, and weird, the very beginning with the slow motion part reminded me of Scorseses Mean Streets. I don´t know why it did. And then, in the second part of your film the song ... from Means Streets by the master himself. Magic! Eoshd, great place for camera and film enthusiasts!
  12. We all are Zach!- Camera admirers on a quest for that beautiful essential way of shooting and creating. With the right camera in hands, which is imposing that direct approach on us, enabling us to be in touch and in love with the filming experience and topic. I have been thinking about an a6000 lately and here it is, a beautiful video shot by Matt of this forum. Love the coincidences and incidences on this forum. Love this forum. Love your guys´ contributions. Love your quirkyness, creativity and joy!
  13. Bummer! Otherwise it would have meant, FD to EF is possible without loss in quality! Now that would have been just too nice! In the nerdy spirit of this thread, I watched Mattias´ bmpcc lens tips two days ago when looking for cmount zoom solutions. Great find that 18 to 108!. Now I remember had been looking forward to more LS300 footage to see from Mattias. By the way, as far as gearhead video consumption goes, looking for certain kind of cameras always lead me to certain kind of footage and aesthetic insights. F.i. regarding 35mm stills cams: cameras like yashica 35cc, pentax espio mini, Fuji natura etc. always gave me the kind of photography I enjoyed the best and learned the most from. That´s why I still believe in the quest for the best personal camera to own. Just like Zach has been on that quest to find the best lens for his Canon Ti, his Bmount experiment, his quest for a filmmaker´s state of mind, his search for secrets, oddities and joy. I will check now for Kendy Tis footage, if he has done another Sony DSLM video or if he has come back to beautiful Canon color. See you later, I´m busy for now
  14. Your NX500 ones are my second faves then:) Still thinking about that FD 35-70mm f4.0 I saw in your cool Canon Ti video. Just not sure, if I will miss the one stop compared to an f2.8 lens. By the way, how did you dare to adapt FD to EF mount? Hey guys, I didnt include ES alias in my considerations of the odd and quirky and joyful posts on this forum! Rather of the kind of filming Raw with the EOS M or lens discussions like about the 28mm "Hollywood" F2.0 and its cheaper substitutes and stuff like that! Just about finding out about little gems of knowledge and secret sauce. And some guilty pleasures of nerdom. And regarding Zach, I think he gave impulses for very lively and joyful discussions with benefit to knowledge regarding apects of filmmaking and regarding ourselves as a community. cheers
  15. Zach is a passionate filmlover and the other alias is just an alias we might not want to have to worry that much about anymore:/ As for the gems and camera geeks amusement, everybody has some favorites and beloved reading and watching moments and experiences. For instance article and discussion about Kendy Ti in his Canon days. Havent checked his stuff since a video with Sony color science showed up in his channel. What a superficial guy I have become:) My favorite lens peeping moment was mercers fd 35-70 f4.0 test or his 12.5mm cmount footage, covering m43 image circle! Loved the enthusiasm of @maxotics and his analytical technical essays and conversations with jcs. I put Max in @ so he might get a ring back to eoshd again:) So much love and beautiful amount of inside quirky knowledge. What were your beloved reading moments and insider tricks or odd workarounds or techniques? Oh, from BTS of Musgo, a nice GH2 feature- the DOP and director Gami Orbegoso was tight on a string to the talent in front of the camera. Someone has been sharing this again a few days ago on Eoshd. Stuff like that. So please share, if you like!
  16. Awesome! Lens love!:) If you perfer manual legacy lenses, you should give the tokina 24 40 f2.8 a try, in Nikon mount plus EF- Nikon adapter. Beautiful lens with awesome mechanics and the exact right look for APSC sensor size. Or you enjoy the great AF with an 18 to 50 f2.8 Sigma or Tamron or Canon. cheers
  17. Hello everybody! This forum has been a place of great discussions. Learned so much. The most fun has always been to discover about obscurities and oddities, fi. regarding lenses like the 28 85 f4 Tokina flare monster. Or the secrets of getting 60p on European Lumix cams or the odyssey of a young filmmaking kid Zak with an obscure lens for his beloved Canon Ti. So much passion and possibilities of discovering things. All the great fun stuff beyond the ordinary 3 light setup for video interviews! I would love to see more of that from all of you great contributors! Thanks so much for everything and please keep the tasty tips n tricks n awesome ideas rollin! Hope Zak is doing great and chimming back in some day, if he likes to do so! cheers, Marty
  18. Since 1080p mode on GH5 has supposely true! HD resolution, please 10 bit up to 120fps. Also, lossless digital zoom in 1080p resolution up to 1:1 HD sensor crop, not necessarily stepless but maybe in 3 or four or five steps. That in 10 bit as well. Also 4/3 mode with full sensor readout and sofore without crop to the sides. Please 2K 10 bit mode. Prores for 1080 and maybe cinema 2K footage!

Hey Matt! Lookin good! Is the FD 24mm as good wide open as the 28mm 2.8? I would assume so. A6000 looks like a nice little HD cam for the cheap FF look with a focal reducer. Does the A6000 offer the 50mbit codec after a firmware update?
  20. Hey Greg! You make that gfilm colour sing, you make that Sony color sing! Maybe the best Sony color I´ve seen on the interwebs, very beautiful color in its own right! Absolutely! Please share more of your stuff! cheers
  21. Hey mercer, we need you to show off more of that 5D3 3K Raw with the Tokina 24 40 now, but in motion! Hope you getting a Panasonic again one day:)
  22. Hallo Fuzzy, well, I only watched Watchtower of Turkey and I found the visual rush very impressive but also very easy to forget about. It´s like a luxury all you can eat dinner, too much of everything and too little of anything. If that makes sense The other one I havent watched. For watchtower: picture quality and workflow with the GH3 is impressive. Still, i dig your little vignettes and videos more, just more my kind of material.
  23. Hey Jimmy, would be cool if you stay!!! Just get off of Andrews cloud and rather get on mine, I dig your opinions And, please Andrew, don´t get angry, you know we admire your work and style and we want you to enjoy your own forum you are providing for all of us. Casey Neistats GH5 footage looks great. I must say, some of the best DSLM colors I´ve seen, honest ones without grading I mean! Awesome colors! Anybody got the hope to get to know Caseys color profile setting?
  24. Hallo Seb, you could also try to set the IBIS to much smaller numbers. With a focal reducer f.i. for a 24mm I would have to choose 24mm x 0.71 eq. around 16mm. So with you anamorphic setup of 35mm and 1.75 one could try 35mm x 0.58 eq about 20mm. cheers
  25. Hey, i´d suggest a GX85 for family footage. It is a joy to hold in hand and has stabilization plus great image quality. Family members will love to hold it and use it. Use the display like most people would anyway and you can use the not so nice EVF for super challenging situations.
