No footage?
-
Hi, Opening this topic so we can share black friday deals. Prolly looking out for a dji mini 4 pro deal, maybe also the sony zv-e1. But we can share everything. Cheers
-
I am sure it would help, but I don't think it would be as good as the one above. Cannot seem to find a decent comparison video between sony / panasonic on highlight rolloff/clipping though.
-
This video for example, there is lot's of golden hour footage with a pretty good highlight rolloff to my eyes at least. Never had that with a panasonic camera. (or have I seen elsewhere online, but feel free to correct me).
-
Also when using log profiled? I thought settings in log are quite limited? S-log or v-log (have not messed around with v-log settings, left it at default)
-
Is the sharpness not higher on the panasonic camera's btw? (The greencast I have seen, does not bother me, might be different when owning the camera and shooting product video's)
-
Well panasonic seems to treat highlights desaturated (more like film), while canon and sony seem to saturate the highlights a lot more. And clients seem to prefer the saturated look these days. Especially when shooting golden hour there is a big difference, while panasonic looks bland/neutral in comparison to sony/canon. I think the look clients want has evolved more to the sony/canon look straight out camera instead.

Hi Guys, I might jump brands again. Last years I have been shooting panasonic and blackmagic, but I might transfer to sony once again (I love the IBIS on the panasonic camera's, but I feel they are lacking some mojo vs sony/canon images, and while I do love that the L mount lenses have the same weight/filter thread, they do have a clinical/boring image). ho here has experience shooting anamorphic on the latest sony camera's A7SIII, FX3 and Sony ZV-E1? What is your experience with 1.5X, 2X anamorphics. Do you need an additional monitor (as I hate charging and carrying extra weight, so would always prefer the camera monitor itself). Do these camera's have desqueeze built in? I know panasonic camera's have this, but not sure of Sony. Thanks,

I was hoping on a big firmware update for the s5ii, but looks like a snoozefest. Unless I am missing something, there isnt anything in there that I need.

Nobody using a mattebox with nd's btw?
-
Hi, My variable ND's are quite old, and they always seem to wash out the image quite a bit (loose a lot of contrast and sharpness), and give it a slight colour shift. So I think renewing my ND strategy might be one the best purchases right now. Do you still a vari ND? Which brand do you swear by? Or do you use single ND's not variable, single ND's might also help a bunch. Thanks!

I never crop in, 4K and 6K is totally overkill for anything that I do.

Hi, I dont want to deal with post syncs on this shoot, so instead of recording into my zoom h6 I will record wireless lav (sennheiser g3) into my panasonic s5 and sony a7iii. Any settings/tips I should know to not f#ck up my audio recording? Thanks!

By networks, you mean TV networks? (Have not worked for them). Or you mean every contact you have. Have not shot with sony in a while, so not sure how much I am shooting myself in the foot. Allthough I would like to work straight for the customer in the future, more margin, customer doesnt care about gear, more control over income.

Hmm but I am prolly going the bm route again soon so with braw I might not have that issue.
-
Thanks that is quite the beast! I am on Amd right now though. Might need to change back then if only intel is h265 killing it.
-
Yeah did some tests, seems like a combo of my disks and my gpu. Might need to invest in an upgrade of both..
-
There is no option in resolve that displays the hardware where he struggles with right?
-
Hi, I am still running a gtx 1080 as my gpu, so I am thinking about an upgrade. Has anyone made a similar leap these days and felt an great increase of performance? Davinci resolve often freezes during playback, have to wait a bit and then it starts again. (Have to note that I do not copy my footage to internal SSD drives, but usually just run it from external drives, which might have a bigger impact then my gpu, but not sure at this moment. ) Cheers,

Yeah S5II, S9, GH7 was way too fast. I just bought a S5II, then I was pissed about the S9, and now the GH7 has these interesting specs, next month they will prolly release the S2H. I just hope the ARRI colors will come to the S5II as well. That would be quite fair I think.

Panasonic S5 II (What does Panasonic have up their sleeve?)
zerocool22 replied to newfoundmass's topic in Cameras
I hope panasonic will release log3c to the s5ii as well. (Now they suddenly released a cheaper smaller s5ii named the s9..) -
Hopefully they will release logc3 to the s5ii as well...

The world's first F1.8 full-frame mirrorless zoom has arrived...
zerocool22 replied to Emanuel's topic in Cameras
Not a big zoom distance though. But good that there is progress. -
Biggest problem of this the ump's was for me the weight and the dreaded fpn (god I hated the fpn). I just like to shoot smaller camera's, which require less heavy tripods/sliders/gimbals/battery's. Just more efficient. + I like the full frame sensor. But I would just buy the blackmagic cine 6K. Because I hate adding more monitors to my camera and the pyxis monitor seems to suck. (allthought the blackmagic cine 6K formfactor also sucks).

The price has gone up all over europe. But b&h in the states still have the promo. What gives? I was about to pull the trigger and now I can't get it anywhere.
