They could have gone way beyond a7s iii specs. Pro codecs(prores,...) + even some sort of internal raw + Anamorphic mode.
-
Well they had a lot of oppurtunities to destroy canon, sony and panasonic but for some reason they did not bother with decent video specs. So they kinda had it coming.

Image thickness / density - help me figure out what it is

Looks like a higher framerate. 30fps. The motion looks off. But def interested in figuring out why it looks so bad. It doesnt look natural it looks like theatre lighting, some shots have good contrast ratio but still looks cheap. The lenses are prolly too sharp. Some bad framing as well, and digital fx from the 80's. -
Still would rather pay more then use mac os.

Did anyone commpare the effects on the forza and aputure lights? Is one better then the other?
-
Well actually no, the COB size is different. but if somehow somebody managed to do so, I am very interested in how. Yes but the CLAR lights are adorama only, which kinda sucks if you live in Europe (shipping + taxes). I thought they fixed that in the end of 2019? Or is it still a problem? As I saw a video of a guy saying the aputure was actually louder then the forza's.

So aputure finally released the aputure 600D. https://www.aputure.com/products/ls-600d-pro/ ==>1890$ (I wonder how much the € price will be. ) So im still debating if I should get the 600D or the nanlite forza 500. The 600D is about 10K lux brighter with the reflector @ 1m + can also mount the aputure spotlight. The forza 500 is 5600 kelvin and is a lot cheaper 1500$ (so I could use the money to buy diffusion, filters but sadly no aputure spotlight).

First one looks like a early 20's shopping tv commercial. The second one looks a lot better, allthough it does still have this cheap feel to it. -
Does this also apply for h265 422 files?
-
Yeah this is very true, to some extent. Most of us can benefit more from lighting/grading. But at a certain level, just everything needs to be top notch. I feel camera, lenses, lighting, grading, sound, acting, set design, directing are all important, if one of those is off the film/scene is off. Cameras do matter though if you look at shootouts between cameras in same lighting setup, not only DR stands out but color. And yes I have heard numerous times if you shoot 10 bit(or raw) you can get the same results but to me it looks like almost nobody can pull this off. I mean I can easily spot the blackmagic footage in mad max fury road. And if they cant even match it, how should us mortal folks do it.

I absolutely hate apple stuff, but this thing has taken my interest. I love pc, but there is no pc setup that runs these hevc 422 files smootly. Or is there?
-
Thats true, but in this case its not an advantage as you have lots of space between the subject and the background.
-
Not sure that you can. Maybe handheld would be better then a helmet cam. But its maybe also possible the IBIS or lens stabilization is causing the issue.
-
Those micro vibrations do ruin the shots.
-
I maybe would, if it was a hybrid. I dont like carrying 2 bodies around.
-
I dont like the high shutterspeed + looks oversharp to me + due to the lowlight a lot of the footage looks weird/mushy(maybe could be solved by crushing the shadows/blacks a bit more).

I just received the panasonic S5, did not open the box yet. But somehow I am still lured to the R5 and R6. R5 is a bit too pricey for me, but I just keep wondering if I can make the R6 work. I have not seen anything goodlocking on any panasonic S camera. And from the R5/R6 I have seen some great stuff already. Also the skintones comparisons, the canons really shine imo. - The overheating was a worry, but I believe we can bypass it now with the battery door trick. - Codecs, how hard they are to edit. - How good is the 1080p - Do you struggle with the dynamic range (vs A7SIII, S1H, pocket 6K,...)
-
Lets hope so, I want to get a good deal.
-
Yes sorry, comment was aimed at editing h265 cheaply.
-
What about desktops though.
-
Toobad its macbook, hopefully a pc alternative soon.
-
Hmm I was hoping on something more. I dont need any of these features as of now, or maybe they are handy but I dont grasp the concept yet.
-
Yeah dont like to use proxy's because it takes time, and it takes up hard disk space.
