Yeah I guess that sums it up. Every other camera is flawed heavy. And this one does not seem to excell in any department, but its just ok or more then ok for all departments.
-
Weight and screen that can be flipped to the front so you can film youself(handy for test shots or vlogging)
-
Im referring to the canon r5 files, and yeah I know its a hardware problem. And h265 is a nightmare vs raw or prores.
-
Oh and if possible make editing h265 smooth like butter. Then I might get a r5.

Setup times are important, putting a monitor on your camera when you pull it out of your backpack does take some time and you might loose a cool shot + its not fun, I would rather be tempted to leave the camera at home/hotel. Putting it away in your backpack with the monitor still attached it might hurt the sdi/hdmi connector. But I do really like the komodo, if I did this thing full time I would def get one. And get a bunch of other cameras as well.

- export prores on windows - better graphics support jpg, png, psd without jagged lines etc - auto color correct clips to each other (manual matching cameras kinda sucks without a color checker) - better render quality for h264

Monday bm will release resolve 17. Exited to see what they will announce.

Fuji GFX 100 loses to Huawei P40 Pro Plus smartphone for dynamic range
zerocool22 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
What about video DR? As there is prolly not any bracketing taking place, the non smartphones might have the upperhand again. -
Looks like they are focussing on the AV1 and not HEVC. I honestly dont understand what camera companies are thinking implementing codecs that are almost unusable. I never in my life will return to apple/mac.
-
Any news that AMD is working on it?
-
What are we waiting for to edit h265, do we need some new pc hardware? Is there none on the market out yet? As h265 is out already for a couple of years now.

Panasonic S5 Entry Level Full Frame seems to be real...

Same over here with coolblue in Belgium. I hope the lens claim will come through otherwise I am done with that retailer. -

No a Belgian shop. On the claim document I got it says 30 october though. I just sent them a mail, hopefully they will extend it to november.. cause I feel a bit irritated by the shop and their lack of effort of trying to solve it. -

Nikon Z6ii and Z7ii are to shoot 4k blackmagic Raw 60 fps
zerocool22 replied to Danyyyel's topic in Cameras
Yes that is a good strategy. Too bad for us. Or would be great if bm would release a hybrid as well, with hotflash shoe for flash photography, IBIS, fast AF, compact and great battery life. -

I wish they would work togheter so we could get internal BRAW on other camera's. -

Is it me, or does this all look overly sharp somehow. Doesnt have that nice smooth feel to it. -

Sorry to go a bit off topic here. But does anybody have any links to the best S1H, S1, S5 footage. Have not found anything yet I am impressed with so far. (got the S5 pre-ordered). -
Well if I would buy one, this is what I would be doing though. I never need 12K in my life. 12K storage costs too much. But I do like the 12K IQ, colours look nice. But the noise seems to be a small problem.
-
Well saw some footage of the R5 and the S1H yesterday side by side, and the R6 colors were much better. The S1H skintones were really red, dynamic range is important but nice colour is more important. And I have a S5 on preorder. If canon bumps out an firmware update to fix the problems with the R6, I might cancel my pre-order and get the R6 instead.

At 0:08 Strange that the highlight on the hair is so much hotter on the ursa then on the other camera's. Looks like a complete different temperature. Not sure if its a bad/good thing prolly depends on the situation. Gotta say the R5 is doing a hell of a job competing with these 2 (too bad of the 8K file storage, which ads up a lot costs for the R5 + the overheating otherwise I would already be rocking one right now). @Neumann FilmsThe new komodo does look very interesting though. Not buying right now, but I see myself getting one in a year or 2.

Yes that is what I thought too, before Lux shots pointed it out. I guess I can better save the 500 euro difference to a used s1h and invest in more lighting gear.
-
ok 180 fps will be shitty. But 60 fps will be quite allright I think. Then again have not shot anything on a S1H or S5 yet. Could you do a 60fps shot side by side on both camera's and upload to youtube?
-
What about if you just use 60 fps or 180fps hd instead of the vfr mode?
