Oh man I already own an s5 and s5ii. Now I read in a comment they may have fixed the AF on 1080p 60fps modes. Which is my main issue with the s5 ii.
-
Its about 1.5 stops more DR. Not a huge jump. Not sure if the r5 will be able to run magic lantern at some point. That jump would make more sense to me. Allthough the r5 would overheat after 2 mins I guess.

Hehe just came here to post this. Which makes me consider it somehow. I was thinking about picking up a used pocket 6k pro, for the internal nd's + I already have a bunch of cfast. But the full frame + L mount makes more sense to me..

Are there any good eos r or 7d2 magic lantern videos? I saw a 5diii magic lantern vs eos r magic lantern, but found that the 5diii had more DR over the eos r. Could be a bad test. Don't have any canons left, to test myself. Strange that there are no comparison video's online. Like eos r magic lantern vs pocket 6k, a7s iii, s5 and so on.

Panasonic S5 II record button does not work on the DJI ronin s?
zerocool22 replied to zerocool22's topic in Cameras
It fixed itself somehow. -
Well kinda disagree on this one. For me its about the look I can create with the lights, and during daytime I am allways fighting the sun. And 300w led lights for example dont allow much creative looks. Were playing with iso's you are just lowering or increasing exposure as is and not affecting the look in a dramatic way. Like popping the subject from the background. Not sure if you ever do flash photography, but I absolutely love the fact I can completely change the look of an image in bright sun with an flash. But yeah I dont like to deal with huge ass lights either an an one man band.

Panasonic S5 II (What does Panasonic have up their sleeve?)

What is your best monitoring LUT for V-log on the S5II. Have tried a bunch, but not yet found the sweet spot. Thanks! -

Sounds great, I wonder how much the AF has improved. (Especially in slowmo or full hd resolution) -
Magic Lantern update! Original EOS R recording HD 14bit RAW
zerocool22 replied to PannySVHS's topic in Cameras
Allthough you need an external recorder. (something I don't like because it makes the setup too big and defeats the joy for shooting for me). + the IBIS is not to be underestimated. But the sigma FP does have an nice image. -
Magic Lantern update! Original EOS R recording HD 14bit RAW
zerocool22 replied to PannySVHS's topic in Cameras
Great news, looking forward to some sample footage. Does this mean this also opens the door to the R5 and on? As dynamic range, ibis, AF and so on have increased dramatically over the last years. Not sure RAW on an older camera beats the internal recording of the latest mirrorless camera's. -
Its gonna be way easier to direct the AI then it is to direct shitty actors. AI is improving at lightning speed, in 5 years time you can create high end car commercials from your bedroom, just based off your visionboard/storyboard, no need to gather a crew, fly across the world, lock off roads, rent gear, ... they prolly need to introduce new laws, as its easy to bypass specific location laws now.

Hi guys, Lately I have been fed up with my Vari ND screw on filters. Mainly because whenever I shoot towards a light source (sun/light/etc..) I see a immense degrading of the contrast, colors fade, softens the image, almost a light leaky effect, which kinda ruins shots. I have a bunch of them of different brands. Allthough all of them are old. Not sure if the newest VARI ND filters still have this issue? And have not compared to incamera ND filters, to see if they face the same issue. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Could one not just build a superior camera at the moment? Like full frame sensor, high fps, compressed raw ( not sure about ibis and AF)
-
Yeah would love to see a side by side with the s5ii. (Especially braw vs braw)

I have not seen oppenheimer, but this is something I have thought about movies in general. The dialogue is allways so clear and loud and constant throughout movies. And while cinematography is always a style choice to overlight/underlight something, where in some films or shows most is black (I remember the game of thrones hate). For voice audio it is not so the case, everything is allways so unnaterally clean and clear. Maybe I am alone in this, as I have tinnitus and have this problem in real life, where I often don't hear what anyone is saying and have to ask to repeat it because the dialogue clip of a person is not mixed out like in the movies. But yeah I can imagine it beeing super annoying, having an actor deliver a line and while watching the movie (without lip readers) nobody can make up what the character just said. (Maybe in that case just op for a show don't tell kinda approach).

You can continue with the forward menu toggle, and up with the up menu button toggle.

when hitting the playback button it says: panasonic S5 tv output in progress
-
Hi, I have a panasonic S5, and when plug in the hdmi to a external monitor, I get the live feed. But when I press the playback button on the camera I can't seem to display or play any of the clips, its just says "TV mode". How can I playback clips on external monitor? Thanks!

Panasonic S5 II (What does Panasonic have up their sleeve?)

Do you also do this, or do you just use the default LUT? Not sure if its wise to shoot with a higher contrasty lut. -

What monitor LUT do you guys use on V-log, I now jus thave it on the REC709 Vlog lut that cam with the camera, but I might be not contrasty enough? -
Panasonic S5 II (What does Panasonic have up their sleeve?)
zerocool22 replied to newfoundmass's topic in Cameras
Ok what picture profile are you guys shooting on? On the panasonic S5 I mainly shot natural. Now I also got an S5II and the natural profile looks very different, now I want to use both camera's on the same shoot, so I figured I want to shoot V-log. And offcourse I did some test shots, and oh my, V-log is soooooo noisy, I was expecting a bit more noise. But the difference is immense. So not sure if I should use natural on both camera's and try to match them as good as possible, or try my luck with V-log on this shoot (there is a significant DR bump in V-log though, but not sure if its worth the trade off in Noise). I want to avoid post noise reduction. (I just tried the noise reduction on V-log in Camera from 0 to 5 (half way). But I don't see any major difference really. -
Hi guys, Do you disabled IS or IBIS on your lens/camera when you are using a slider, I am seeing some slight jerks, not sure if it has to do something with my movement or that IS/IBIS is trying to compensate for the movements. Thanks

Panasonic S5 II record button does not work on the DJI ronin s?
zerocool22 posted a topic in Cameras
Hi guys, So I have a dji ronin S and a panasonic S5 and S5 II, with the S5 I don't have any problem using the record button on the dji ronin s. But on the panasonic S5 II the record button does not do anything. I don't seem able to find any info on this on the internet, so maybe it's not a popular combo. But does anyone else has this problem or know a solution for this? Thanks a lot! -
Ok double tapping M works. But in portrait mode the level is off. Does anyone know how to level in Portrait mode?

Davinci resolve render individual clips with adjustment layer
zerocool22 replied to zerocool22's topic in Cameras
Yeah this was how I did it in the past, however adjustment layers are handy as you can have multiple adjustment layers vs just one timeline. (Multiple cameras for example)
