Yeah health is nr 1, hope you recover fully soon. Yeah that are some depressing numbers man. I feel like anything below a 6 numbers pay per year is on the edge of beeing worth it. (As you have to calculate pension/sickdays/insurance/periods with low income/less jobs...) i dont think I can stretch it for 7 years below that number though. Finding enough jobs to fill each weekday is one my main concerns though. People working for less then minimum wage are kinda screwing over everybody in the industry.

I'm not a professional videographer. But looking into if its worth switching careers over. I know I will probably earn less, which is not the most important, but I do need to be able to support my family with it(which is the most important).

Hello, Just wondering how much you guys are earning as freelance videographers per month. Before and after taxes (which can be massively different depending where you are located) Before tax: After taxes: Location: Type of jobs that you do: (Corporate/weddings/commercials/event/...) Cheers

I would wait on the aputure 600d, guess the price will be a bit higher though.

Nikkor 35mm 1.4 - a long, near useless review... with pictures
zerocool22 replied to mercer's topic in Cameras
Yeah shooting with the alexa LF mini did make me think things over. Its a darn good camera (even the mini is HEAVY kittet out). So honestly thinking about renting the alexa mini (non LF, as its way cheaper, around 300€ a day and I can use my EF mount lenses on it) for more projects and spending less on purchases throughout the year. I do need one good hybrid for photography and random video's though. So a sony A7S III or canon R5/R6 is still on my radar. (but def do not see the need to buying any camera between 8k and 30K) -
thats true, but Zcam is still the new kid on the block + kinefinity at least offers prores where the zcam does h265. But yeah still a 3k difference there, but guess they can still do a pricedrop to make it even more attractive. (especially when you got these pretty impressive 2020 dslr's/mirrorless camera's coming out)

https://www.newsshooter.com/2020/02/14/kinefinity-slashes-the-prices-of-the-terra-4k-mavo-mavo-lf/ Mavo LF drops to 8k$, thats a 4K drop. Lets see what Zcam will do now with the F6. 2020 is going to be the best camera purchase year in a very long time

Thanks! These shots are great, I recognize the 5D look, which I do miss in newer camera's(hopefully the new R6, R5 will bring it back, allthough I am shooting with an alexa LF this weekend, I hope I dont fall madly in love with that camera ). These nikkor lenses have been on my radar for a long time, but never actually made the purchase. Had some back luck with vintage lenses before. (Still have my leica summicron-r lenses though). I might get these and compare it to the summicrons. (did the same with the zeiss contax, but liked the overal look and handling of the summicrons more, allthough the contax is a stop faster). -
Seems like forever since DJI released a new drone.

How fast and correct is the Autofocus for photo's with an EF adapter? -

only for the UK im afraid. But guess these prices will become pretty common soon. And might expect a pricedrop in general when canon/sony will announce their new camera's. -
Yeah great pics! If I would do that, I would probably get punched in the face.
-
Yeah allthough I guess not many people will use it for cine purposes. Imagine having a timeline of 120 min of h264/h265.
-
No surprises here, but here are the results. 1. Arri Alexa Mini LF 2. Canon Eos C500mII 3. Red Monstro 4. Sigma FP 5. Sony FX9 (S-Cinetone) 6. Sony FX9 (S-Log3) 7. Sony Venice 8. Red Gemini 9. Red Helium

Hello, Came across this video, found it very interesting. Looks like alexa lf and sigma fp are still worlds apart. (alexa lf vs any of these really)
-
Yeah the Mavo LF did look really amazing though.

Yeah im guessing 2020 is going to be quite great for camera's. Hopefully also a cheap high speed camera will hit the market, as I would love to shoot 1000fps for table top productions without needing to hire a phantom flex (which is only possible for really big projects, big for me that is).
-
Hopefully a lot of DR, and a better codec. Now prores, braw and other great codecs have become quite common nobody wants to shoot h264 or h265 as it sucks for editing. I own quite some camera's and get asked to shoot prores a lot (and because I can deliver prores to production companies, they also hire me instead somebody with a A7 iii or GH5 or the likes of that).
-
Yeah would love some low light footage with a person in it. All these natural daylight shots are quite useless for me.

Dang I seem to have missed the boat, only played at a festival here in Belgium. Cinema/DVD's/netflix not signs of it (yet). -

Key Light (Bowens Mount) Less Expensive Than Apurture?
zerocool22 replied to Mark Romero 2's topic in Cameras
This looked quite good on paper, but liked the look out of the 120D much better, not sure it is only a whitebalance thing. As even corrected I prefer the 120d, so could be CRI related as well. But the off temperature colors are quite shitty to work with though if you are mixing them up with other lights.
