+1 I got a question already. What monitor and battery solution would you suggest using a E2 cam? I like it portable, so I can just tuck it away in my backpack. (I dont want to remove the monitor everytime) But even more importantly how do you guys power the E2 and the chosen monitor? At the same time with the same battery would be awesome, as I hate charging and switching batteries at the same time. But I dont want to use any v-lock batteries as it makes the rig too big for travelling purposes. And I need to be able to rig it onto a ronin S. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I am thinking the same thing. They could have destroyed canon, nikon and panasonic years ago, but for some reason they did not bother. Maybe they underestimated the demand for video on dslr and mirrorless.

I hope so, but doubt it very much. Prores RAW would be already pretty sweet. But Resolve does not even support it at this point. So shoutout to BM, please make this happen. As your competition is ahead of you on that part. (scratch, baselight, Edius, premiere) I get that they dont want to do it, as they want to push BRAW, but as an editors standpoint I do not choose the codecs or camera's my clients work with and Im forced to use something else then resolve for editing.

I still would dump my pocket 4k for 5d iv raw.

Im confused why the european one is more expensive, as he also lives in the eu. Surely shipping outside the eu should be the more expensive one.

Jinni Tech claims RED Compressed RAW patent filing is invalid

Well on reduser RED is saying something else. But only time will tell though, as anybody can say what they want on the internet. -
Jinni Tech claims RED Compressed RAW patent filing is invalid

Why does apple bother anyway? (They arent creating cinema cameras as far I know, or are they planning to implement compressed raw onto the next Iphone? Imagine a full frame sensor with compressed raw with usbc out to record to t5's on an iphone, that would be a real pocket camera you always have with you) Is this also the reason why we have been stuck with shitty codecs for the last 10 years on dslr and mirrorless cameras? If not for this patent, would we already had compressed raw in our 5d, a7s, gh,... cameras like 10 years ago? -
Z Cam E2 will have ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FPS in 4K??
zerocool22 replied to IronFilm's topic in Cameras
Yeah zraw is a bad move though. Why would anyone use a raw format that you cannot import in any nle? They should have implemented braw or prores raw instead. -
I guess it will be a hit and run depending the sensor. If its a full frame or S35 at 6k full sensor readout with proper DR it will sell like hotcakes. But they will piss off every other redowner who spent multiple times that amount on a red previously. (Remember the horrible crop on the red raven)

Yeah I applaud Red what they have done for the industry, but they may did themselfes in. (Crazy prices, lawsuits against everyone, competition is catching up to them while nobody can touch arri)
-
Yeah agree I think it is the 50fps playback on youtube which make it looks videoy though.

Im talking about the one from the topic offcourse, why would I bring something else up? (I already own a metabones speedbooster, but this one is integrated into the camera itself)
-
Will the EF contacts remain from bm itself, or will they get EF contacts from the speedbooster?
-
The one with the surf board shaper looked great!

Quick question: does the pocket 4K battery charge, when the camera is off and is plugged into a wall socket? (as I read in the manual you can charge it over USB when the camera is off, but does not seem to mention through wall socket)
-
Well you need around 4 300D's to get the same effect as a HMI 2,5K(which also costs 4 times more). I dont think LED is there yet at all. I do love its compact and doesnt run hot, but it looks like thungsten and HMI is not going anywhere soon.

Panasonic S1 V-LOG -- New image quality king of the hill
zerocool22 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Yeah Sony said A7S III will be better then expected, so hopefully compressed RAW or atleast through external recorder. Colour science wise, I guess the Sony Venice is the new king in sony land, and is also full frame vs varicam. So I would rather take the Venice colour science. -

The Alexa comes out looking like a champ. But nothing unexpected as it costs 5 times as much as the mavo lf. I would like to see a side by side comparison between the mavo lf, zcam f6 and the panasonic s1. But in the end the S1 drops off the list anyhow as it does not do any kind of RAW. -

I know what you mean, but thats kinda useless. As we all upload to vimeo or youtube. And besides other camera's like RED are also beeing played in an embedded player, and the footage looks way less detailed, and RED is already pretty detailed vs ARRI. So there is something not correct in that statement. Allthough It looks way better on my 4K monitor. But im not in love with any footage so far. Well see down the road if great things come along, as of now im more leaning into a zcam F6. -

I liked the look of season 1 a lot more. (Story as well) Maybe but when will I be able to do that. -

I said imo. There are no face close ups in theses shots, so I cannot compare. But the logs and leaves are already too detailed for my taste. It makes it look far more video'y then cinematic. But then again in my opinion :)))
