  1. That commercial was shot on alexa, the zcams were the moving close up shots.
  2. Im not sure there is an audience for these ML updates on the beginner dslr's. Where is ML for the 5D IV. At this point im not sure if it ever will come. Maybe we will even see a new 5D that does internal RAW faster ;(
  3. Yeah prolly more like 15K all geared up. (but still too pricey for most of us)
  4. Looks great, well done :). I would love to see some side by side footage with other cameras (like scarlet-w, c300 ii, the upcoming F6, ump,...) If you have any or are planning to do some.
  5. thats true, but dont give it to a youtuber, give it to some cinematographers who got some decent films under their belt.
  6. Well they have no higher up camera's to protect, so if they are smart and want to sell a shit ton of camera's and want to fuck canon, sony and panasonic they should. We have been asking for RAW since the release of the 5D II over 10 years ago, not much has changed over the course over the years (mostly more slowmotion options, AF and IBIS).
  7. Yeah true that, get these cameras to some talented people and sell 100X times more cameras(if they are awesome that is)
  8. ok thats a letdown. Zcam F6 is it again. Hope they can finetune the camera soon and show us some decent footage, as all footage as of yet looks quite terrible(weird noise, moire, shaky,...). I would love to see a side by side with a bunch of camera's. Zcam better give the camera to some decent camera guys and let them showcase the camera footage.
  9. Well with the zcam you would need to use an external monitor. So thats the same(maybe a little more weight)
  10. So the nikon z6 is now around 12 stops. but with the raw update beeing raw and all, and photo's are 14 stops of DR. We will get 14 stops of DR out of the nikon Z6 right? Which would make this a 2,5K $ FF raw camera(with the atamos recorder included). Which is even only half the price of the zcam F6. This could be the next best thing and blows everything in the near range out of the water, or am I missing something here. What are the downsides of the Z6, as I never used it or saw it really? (I have a shitton EF glass, are there decent adapters out there?) I went on to check some quick footage online. If its looks this good crippled, I can only imagine how good the RAW will look like.

  12. There was a new update on the C300 ii, new denoiser which made the image more softer, so more cinematic.
  13. Have not been following the nikon Z6 news much, prolly on external recorder then or is it internal? If its internal it would be amazing, if we could use the 14 stops of DR. Then we might have a new winner, but lets wait and see. I dont have any nikon lenses though, looks like a adapter exists but no electrical contacts for EF.
  14. def BRAW and then prores. But Zcam is not even thinking about implementing braw, they are going their own RAW route. Which at this point would involve using their own software to open the RAW files and convert them, which is a major flaw/pity.
  15. Yeah I dont it either why anyone would implement h265 on a cinema camera. But prores licenses are on the way. So thats not a deal breaker. But I am worried about their raw though. If I have to convert it before I can use it in Resolve or Premiere, it is pretty useless. Also not sure what compression their raw will have. I love BRAW 12:1, but im pretty sure that one isnt going to happen.
  16. Im not hyped on the 6K let alone 8K, 1080p is even good enough for me. But its also the most affordable full frame RAW camera atm.
  17. ex VAT though. Hopefully the F6 will drop in price too a bit. On the edge of buying one, but def want to see some decent tests/footage/comparisons as current footage that has been released isnt great at all.
  18. Yeah DR is my main concern with shooting with the 5d iii. When DR is low it is amazing. But I shot a wedding at high noon outdoors and DR was a serious problem, where the A7S II held up pretty good. So I am endlessly waiting on the 5D IV ML, but im about to give up.
  19. Yeah the F35 has been on my list for a long time. Allthough the Alexa is dropping in price, I might just wait a bit and pull the trigger when the Alexa is at similar price, as it has more DR and I guess is cleaner at iso 800(unconfirmed, just guessing here really)
  20. I get that, but external recorders are for me at least a thing of the past. Editing h265 is a pain in the ass. Storage costs are not really an issue anymore (unless you wetransfer your footage to your editor or something).
  21. Yeah you should def add DR and motion cadence. (colour would also be high up there, but not sure how you would add it in a poll as it is prolly more personal) I am surprised people are choosing for: Internal H.264/H.265 with LOG (small file sizes) though. I think you could split up the users on this forum in 2 categories( one is video minded people selling corporate/event style video's on a daily basis and then you got the cinema dudes who want to create shortfilms. And those 2 people just want different camera's all togheter).
  22. You like living on the edge. Ok after seeing a lot of reviews and comparisons I went with the sennheiser g4. (I know everybody prefers the sony, but this deal popped up and went for it)
  23. @Andrew Reid Does 8bit/10bit have an impact on the DR? I always imagined it didnt. I know RAW has more DR then prores. But not sure if 10bit prores has more DR then 8bit DR. But it is true that most 8bit camera's are below 12 stops. (then again 16bit magic lantern 5D III RAW also was just below 12 stops, but that was hitting the limitation of the sensor) But I cant imagine the Alexa when shooting prores is only 12 stops of DR.
  24. Yeah hope they replace h265 soon, not sure what its doing on what they are calling a proffesional cinema camera. H264 and h265 codecs are shitty to edit with.
