Well yeah for me the image is the most important, all the whistles and bells I do not really care for, and I would def buy a eos R if it did not have that crazy crop. Thats the main reason Im not buying one even if it does RAW in the future, either they should release a speedbooster to compensate or loose the crop all togheter.
-
Ah ok, thats is some good info. So maybe the m6 is not for me then, as I wondered about the focus. Maybe the R7 is a better choice for me.
-
Not digging the look of the S1 atm, looks too sharp for my taste. I might buy a eos r though if they drop the crop and file sizes are not through the roof. BRAW has spoiled us.
-
only mft though, need EF lenses( and prefer ff)
-
So would it contain a crop or not?
-
Yeah I am wondering if alexa mini prices will drop now like the original Alexa(which you can have for around 10K).
-
Looking for EF mount or adaptable to EF. And FF if possible for future proofing. Shooting ump and pocket 4k right now.

Hello, Are there any cheap parfocal zoom lenses out there? Around 1K? Vintage? As zooming seems like a lost art these days, could def use one for skateboarding shots. Cheers
-
huh, never shot eos R so I am not sure, but I saw some posts about the video being its all 1.7/1.8 crop? Maybe only in 4K. But still when its raw it will be max resolution so still at 4K.
-
Exactly. Hoping people all jump on vistavision and all sell their S35 cinema lenses cheap ? So I can do some shopping.
-
Hopefully it also means no crop anymore...
-
I guess for most ursa mini pro owners its not worth the upgrade. Seems like the image is the same only 300 fps upgrade. So good news for me.

Eos R RAW would be awesome! But hopefully with some compression like blackmagic raw. I love braw from ump and pocket 4K. A downer for me is a external recorder though for any camera. It is clunky + I need to charge more batteries. Magic lantern is working on the 5D iv and eos R as well. So RAW will come to it at one point or another.

Awesome! Arri is set for another 10 years of camera domininating. Hopefully one day I can afford one. Also prepare for the following posts: What no IBIs, what no autofocus, noisy at iso 3200... what a dealbreaker ?

Hello, Not a video related topic. But figure some of you might have experience witb this. So Im planning to buy a leica m6 with a leica r adapter as I already own 3 summicrons. I never shot film really, so I load the 800 iso film roll in there. My aputure is fully manual. But how do I know how to expose correctly? As I can not take test shots and adjust(which is how I shoot digitally). And I do not want to run around with an external light meter all the time. I figure the m6 has got one built in, but how does it work. Can the m6 show me the correct settings? As iso is fixed, prob shoot wide open at f2 mostly o1nly shutterspeed remains or am I missing something here. Thanks
-
Nope, but seems like LED still has some catching up to do. Aputure 300D is not nearly bright enough for me during noon.
-
Well yeah I often use flashes so the pocket 4K cant be taken serious for photo work.
-
Yeah I know, but it will give me enough of a headstart of starting my own business. As of now I have too big of a risk too take as I have a steady job( and I need a steady income to pay for house, kids, wife,...).
-
For a million dollars I sure as hell will give up my smartphone. (internet probably not, as using google, netflix, vimeo, forums is something I cannot miss) As with that million dollars I can start living the life I want, quit my dayjob. Do video/film full time, creating a business that if my family has interest can take over when I retire. Heck they may even film me and make a tv show out of it for all I care..

What Do Y'all Think of The Kinefinity Mavo LF?
zerocool22 replied to Zach Goodwin2's topic in Cameras
Well you can add a speedbooster to the ump(the guy is charging 1500€ though, so def way too much, hoping somebody else steps in and at least halves that price otherwise I will stay at S35), and then you also get a full frame ump at a lesser costs then the mavo lf(besides crazy high iso's, and smaller size). Anyhows I am not touching kinefinity at these prices, risk is also too high warranty and support wise. -
Well I might buy one, when the speedbooster prices drop 50%

Blackmagic Design Announces New URSA Mini Pro G2
zerocool22 replied to Adam Kuźniar's topic in Cameras
It was vastly improved on the ursa mini pro with firmware updates. John Brawley says the g2 is iso wise the same as g1, only difference is the +300fps. -

Oh had no clue ? -

Well only addition is 300 fps. I never even used 120fps on the ump. So for me the g2 is not worth the upgrade. What, I would even prefer my pocket 4k over the fs5 ii. -
Not sure why there are slow motion demo's, even my handheld shooting looks stable using slowmotion. Only 25fps matters in a demonstration. I like that the battery door can be opened on the gimbal.
