Great stuff! Are you also interested in 5D IV magic lantern RAW? Seems you know your way around coding. And magic lantern is looking for a tester/dev, I get you might not have a 5D IV. But if we start a kickstarter to get you one, will you be able to help them out? https://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=17695.375

Hello, Anybody tried the dji ronin s Focus Motor vs nucleus-n? Wondering which is the best. Cheers,

I fail to see who this osmo pocket is targeted for. My mom would not shoot with it as why would she spend any money on a camera as she has her smartphone, I as a videographer would not shoot with it as it looks non professional, the quality is no where near any real camera. None of my pro or hobbist friends wants to shoot with it for mainly the same reasons. I guess only youtubers are interested in this(for vlogging purposes).

Magic Lantern successfully tested on 5D Mark IV
zerocool22 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Yeah that would be the easiest, I guess we could start a kickstarter and gather the amount fairly fast. But A1ex does not want it. I guess besides the testers, that A1ex is mainly the only dev these days. Other devs would help out immense. We could maybe do a EOSHD kickstarter for buying a used one, and give a 5D IV to a trusted user on here that has some dev skills that wants and can help out? Not sure if there are any users on here that apply for this? -
Yeah you are right. But those who arent interested in a cinelook are way better off with a traditional camcorder though.
-
True but its the manufacturers fault as well. I guess its a easier sell to the masses, so they can shoot and say, look how sharp this looks."Amazing huh" Sure whatever floats your boat.
-
I found one, not sure if its been posted in over these 55 pages. Looks pretty good, but often feels way too sharp and digital to be truly great. Well some camera's have more mojo then others. I feel like the 5D III RAW has some kinda voodoo mojo, offcourse the Alexa has it, and all film camera's(have not shot with an actual film camera before though)

Magic Lantern successfully tested on 5D Mark IV

Any volunteers here that own a 5D IV(or a broken one) that could some tests for the magic lantern team so they can hopefully unleash the full potential of the 5D IV and unlock RAW recording? As they are looking for a pioneer to run the boot flag, when this is done hopefully dozens of other users will step in to test. https://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/in....msg209000#new -
We Are There... The Current Top Hybrids Are Good Enough
zerocool22 replied to DBounce's topic in Cameras
Yeah I am in love with the 5D III RAW skintones as well. Not sure if its lifelike though. I dig the alexa skintones as well. Hoping we can gather enough 5D IV users(and devs) to test and develop magic lantern on it. Good thing the prices dropped a lot used on the 5D IV. So hopefully magic lantern will get the support again they once had with the 5D erra. As the 5D IV RAW could become my new favorite camera, and I own a ursa mini pro. -
I dont know man, It doesnt look bad at all. But have not seen anything that has that true cinema mojo (maybe because its a fairly new camera, and no one actually used one on a decent project). But it does look better than most dslrs or mirrorless camera's.

Any coders on here that could help out Magic Lantern on the 5D IV? (The 5D III was awesome, but the dynamic range could use a boost) https://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=17695.375

What connector do I need for hooking it up to DTAP?
-
Meh no SDI. This Feelworld 279s does seem interesting. Is it possible to power it from DTAP as I would like to power it from a Vlock battery??

will we ever see the rise of the global shutter cameras?
zerocool22 replied to Dan Wake's topic in Cameras
The ursa mini 4K has a global shutter. Hopefully when blackmagic will release the Ursa mini pro 2, it will have also global shutter. -
Ursa mini pro just had (non beta) release, so next up is the pocket. Not sure when we can expect it. Are you planning on doing a review on the pocket 4k soon?
-
Yeah Im sure they will fix it, but might be a good idea to create a support ticket at bm for this. I just wish I got mine already. RED fixed it in a firmware update.
-
Yeah I get you, it might be annoying. But the camera is dirt cheap. Even RED had this problem with lenses with cameras over 30 times the cost. Allthough I don't see any topics on that topic, probably because they are using cinema lenses. Yeah BM should not have used these lenses in the advertising, in my opinion they should have thrown Master primes or cookes S4 on it. But they obviously want to target a larger market by doing this and as a result get more complaints.
-
Well its a cinema camera after all, so its main use is with manual lenses. So I hope they rather use the time to include anamorphic desqueeze then testing and update every camera lens out there.

What Do Y'all Think of The Kinefinity Mavo LF?
zerocool22 replied to Zach Goodwin2's topic in Cameras
Yeah im skipping kinefinity as well. Blackmagic will probably release a full frame camera at some point too, which will beat this price no doubt, and will have much better support. (I just hope they will have a upgrade platform from the ursa mini pro to full frame, just fingers crossed that they thought about this when developing the ursa mini pro, like RED did) -
Meh, seems something only for hobbyists.

Contax zeiss or leica summicron-R's, summilux-r might be a better investment though. As they are full frame, and you can use them on any camera. As the MFT lenses well you are stuck with the m43 sensor camera's. This is my reasoning though. I owned the contax zeiss but sold of them off, as I tested the summicrons (and the sigma ART lenses) as well. And I liked the summicrons just a tad more, allthough they are a bit softer and a stop less light effective, but thats just a personal feeling, so best test them out for yourself. I did own the voightlanders aswell, which is in my list of favorite glass, but could not have glass lying around here that I could only use on certain camera's, as I swap camera's faster then I swap my toothbrush.
