Yeah tangerine mainly worked because it worked as reality smartphone footage I think.I could not bear to watch it though. I saw "Searching" last week, this blew me away, all cheap cameras webcams but it worked flawlessly.

I have read this comment a lot these days. But no example looks good enough to compete with even arthouse films. Sure script, acting and sound is reallly important, and maybe this is a personal thing for me as maybe I have watched way too many movies. But if something is off imagewise I get instantly turned off which offcourse is not only the camera but also the skills of the cinematographer/colorist(as I have seen bad look Alexa films as well, you have to go above and beyond to make this thing look bad). Everything in a movie should be on a high level if one thing is off the movie is off. So using a great script, great actors, great audio but you are using a cheap camera, that sure is a waste of everybodies time.

This is my plan, have no experience with it though, but what I have seen online it is doable.

Its shot with Red dragon camera's, and I had to say it did not look like cinema at all. The lighting was ok I think, but the image was way too sharp for my taste, it looked like a soap opera. (I watched it on a 4K tv though, so maybe thats part of the problem) I applaud his work with the GH4, but it is nowhere near something I would pay money for to watch it. If I did I would want it back. I wish somebody would come along with a digital camera with a soft film grain image but high DR with smooth highlight rolloff and amazing colors, 1080p is all I need + 60fps. I often wonder why people would rent camera's. Even studio's, or production houses. Just buy the camera and use it, when done sell it again. I will bet it will be a lot cheaper.

Sony just stop releasing shit like this for your own sake. It looks like shit, the effects are shit, havent seen the movie but looks like the acting and the story are shit aswell (based on the trailer).

Hopefully Davinci Resolve will follow soon. As it is maybe Premiere's best functionality as of now, or maybe warp stabilizer.

APSC seems to have the same issue. As thats why the reason the ursa mini's are that big, half the camera is a cooling fan.

Heat management seems to be the main struggle for all companies. But they already have come far. Blackmagic managed to do it with the pocket 4K, so the rest will follow suit prob. Prob even in even smaller bodies.

I fail to see who this osmo pocket is targeted for. My mom would not shoot with it as why would she spend any money on a camera as she has her smartphone, I as a videographer would not shoot with it as it looks non professional, the quality is no where near any real camera. None of my pro or hobbist friends wants to shoot with it for mainly the same reasons. I guess only youtubers are interested in this(for vlogging purposes).

Yeah that would be the easiest, I guess we could start a kickstarter and gather the amount fairly fast. But A1ex does not want it. I guess besides the testers, that A1ex is mainly the only dev these days. Other devs would help out immense. We could maybe do a EOSHD kickstarter for buying a used one, and give a 5D IV to a trusted user on here that has some dev skills that wants and can help out? Not sure if there are any users on here that apply for this?

I found one, not sure if its been posted in over these 55 pages. Looks pretty good, but often feels way too sharp and digital to be truly great. Well some camera's have more mojo then others. I feel like the 5D III RAW has some kinda voodoo mojo, offcourse the Alexa has it, and all film camera's(have not shot with an actual film camera before though)

Any volunteers here that own a 5D IV(or a broken one) that could some tests for the magic lantern team so they can hopefully unleash the full potential of the 5D IV and unlock RAW recording? Yeah I am in love with the 5D III RAW skintones as well. Not sure if its lifelike though. I dig the alexa skintones as well. Hoping we can gather enough 5D IV users(and devs) to test and develop magic lantern on it. Good thing the prices dropped a lot used on the 5D IV. So hopefully magic lantern will get the support again they once had with the 5D erra. As the 5D IV RAW could become my new favorite camera, and I own a ursa mini pro.

I dont know man, It doesnt look bad at all. But have not seen anything that has that true cinema mojo (maybe because its a fairly new camera, and no one actually used one on a decent project). But it does look better than most dslrs or mirrorless camera's.
