Yeah hopefully it will not get that cheap so it will turn into a gimmick as we have seen with gymbals, drones, sliders,... as the high price of anamorphics is probably also one of the reasons it looks this good, as you dont see it daily. The first time I saw a drone shot, I was like wow this is amazing, same for gymbals. But after a while I got pretty tired of it as everybody was using it and as a result a lot of videos look the same.

Max prize will be 9K as otherwise they would not advertise 50% off of the cheapest prize and the orion atlas lenses are already 9K each. Wow that is a pretty good deal, this is an amount that I could work in budgets. However it will take a long time I guess before they hit the Belgium market.

Hmm wondering when there will be more news. Like when they will ship.

I never practice, I practice during projects. So I #@{* up some projects now and then because I am trying out some new things. Sometimes it pans out, mostly it does not. You learn from your mistakes. I don't like filming stuff for practice (as in uninteresting subjects with bad lighting) as it would kill my love for shooting.

Haha yeah you are right (however I am one the many consumer exceptions that shoot with a UMP)
-
Well the words "professional", "consumer", "prosumer" are kinda empty words for me. Words like "High End", "Entry level", "mid market" have more value in my eye. I mean working as a "professional" only means that he is earning money with it, and not the level of quality. There are "professionals" out there shooting with 550D, and professionals shooting with Arri Alexa SXT, where I would state the one is "entry level", and the other "high end". (same for skill level, he has professional skills: could mean he is filming weddings, where for another means he is shooting the next Avatar movie.)

Are you sure? I dont see that in the spec list? http://www.kinefinity.com/terra/?lang=en
-
No it does not, Kinefinity has KineRaw which Davinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere not supports, you have to transcode before editing which is a slower workflow. As blackmagic is drag and drop :). The higher framerates and OLPF would be nice though but not needed for 90% of the things I do.
-
Nope, my guess it will look something in between Terra 4K and GH5S, but better codecs then both
-
Yeah I really liked the Image from the 5D III RAW, but the workflow is something else though and I also missed decent 1080p 60fps. Also the screen of the 5D III is a tad too small to make critical checks(never got it working properlly with a external monitor, which also defeats having a dslr type body). The pocket 4K will def replace my 5D III for video purposes.

Interesting any link, tests, footage of that wide angle adapter? Never heard of it.
-
What lenses did you use most? Or what were the favorite lenses you used? Not surprised about going the vintage route, allthough I would have gone for more pricyer vintage lenses like the contax or summicrons. What was the decision criteria there? Budget or specific looks? And surely impressed how good you made the FS7 look

Only spec difference out there so far is native Iso and other sensor. The different sensor could be a huge quality difference though.
-
So that makes it basicly an Mavo LF right? or what am I missing here?
-
Does the kine-enhancer also work on the Mavo? Does anybody here own a Terra or Mavo yet? And will the Mavo work with DJI-Ronin S? I was thinking about buying a second smaller camera. But this mavo seems really small already. So I could just use one body instead.

Aah this already dates from december, and there has been zero news since then. Not sure if that is good news. Update: http://www.kofic.or.kr/kofic/business/noti/findNewsDetail.do?seqNo=44218 So we might get an update by the end of this week.

Well the SLR magic anamorphics are the worst anamorphics, so for my part they can double the price if they also double the performance.
-
Holy moly, this could be big news. Depending on the price. Hoping they are shipping them fast. Yeah 2.8 would be awesome. I am exited as the atlas orion glass is still a bit of a reach pricewise, and also is already in backorder. Please be awesome, have an amazing big stock and have a decent price.

Who would pay twice the price if the new BM Pocket 4K had Canon DPAF?
zerocool22 replied to wolf33d's topic in Cameras
Yeah I was going to buy one as soon as they hit market. But maybe I better wait a couple of weeks and buy a used one from someone who doesnt like manual focus and buys a A7III,c100 instead ^^ -

Well the cinema users are using manual lenses, DPAF will not work. DPAF is great for wedding and events and such, but for scripted work nope. Heck they don't need to, a wireless focus operator will give you more control and better results. So no I would not even pay 100€ for it as I am also shooting mostly manual lenses. -
Well you kinda answered this yourself, I have absolutely no need for AF.
-
I never used proxys and I am running intel i5-4570k, 32GB RAM, gtx1080. about your average joe pc setup. I could do some speed test comparison vs prores. But probably someone already has and will tell you before I can test this.
-
I am not even interested in the A7S III at this point anymore.
-
Yeah compared to Full frame it will be close to 70mm.
-
Yeah I should note, working with prores or RAW definitly saves time in post. As if I would edit GH5 h265 files, it would not be a joy working in post . And in a professional enviroment every minute must be payed, so definitly a money saver in that perspective. And I dont really have that much free time anymore as I am juggling a baby around. So this workflow saves time for me and allows me to have more quality time with my family as well. You cannot put a pricetag on that, Time is the most valuable thing.
