It depends on the users. This camera will probably blow the GH5S, A7S II right out of the water. Actually the original pocket already did that. But I guess if you need high iso, IBIS and all those things, I guess a GH5S would be better. But I don't need that. I use lights, and stabilization tools which are far superior. I feel like 90% of this community is for event, party shooters and not for commercials, or filmmaking.

Why would you want it though. I rather have them a SDI connection over a HDMI connection. Which is faster and more solid. I never had a SDI connector break, and I sure had HDMI connector breaks.

Exept the color science is different. To my eye the F line has good color science, the FS has shitty color science.

Why is the mavo called Large format as it is just full frame? As I always thought it was full frame, then medium format, then large format?

Resolve 15: is confirmed. URSA MINI PRO: color science v4 please + mappable buttons. I dont get the love for the FS5 or the FS7. I do get the love for the F5 or F55. The image isnt there at least not for me, but again thats personal preference.

Only the Panasonic AG-LA7200 I think. But thats only 1,33 and no 2X.

1: Hoping on Resolve 15, or big resolve upgrade. - Hoping on serious improvement on the stabilizer (still need to use other NLE's at this point for that) - Hoping for audio effects like Reverb, lowpass, distortion, etc. 2: Also hope for the Ursa mini pro, to get the GEN4 color science upgrade and customizable buttons on the handle (zoom etc), if they could do something about the screen that would be great aswell, as the color is way off on the screen atm, why didnt they stick with the UM46 screen?? Yeah I am with you that could be giving a lot more value for price at this time. But they dont need to, at this point of time, as people are still buying enough canon products. They dont want to be the company that gives the best value for money. They want to be the company that makes the most profit, and you better believe they are still making enough profit. Otherwise they would already launched camera's with better specs. Will this bite them in the ass in the long run, perhaps. But as far as I see, most of the users are still using EF lenses. So whenever Canon sees their profit drop too much, they will launch a 5D V. With all the specs you want, heck you even get good skintones with it for free.

Yeah it is smart marketing from Canon. They have a lot of products. I dont expect otherwise.

I want a Mavo LF, but I will not consider it(and I dont have the money either at this point), if there is no kinefinity center based in Europe. I will not send my camera to China if there is a problem. Or if they dont respond to any emails. But apparantly they are aiming for the chinese market, and not for US or europe. So that might never happen. These companies always seem to forget about support, which is crucial. On the other side I hope they include also a still button, so I can also use this cam as a LF photography aswell. This camera could potentially shift the mid-highend market. Its the around the same pricepoint of a RED RAVEN, but blows it out of the water. Have not seen any test footage yet though. The terra's are not a step up from the UMP, these could be.

Or when you are using color gels, CTB, CTO,... you dont want to find out in post that you should have used 1/8th or 1/4TH more blue or orange. As I dont calculate, I do it by eye.

Well I shoot mostly prores. But I want an representative image, for example if a color of a shirt is not working out, I want to know it when I am shooting, so I can change out the shirt. Rather then trying to fix it in post. Also it gives me more joy when shooting, when I shot with the C300 on internal monitor I was not enjoying the camera as it did not give an representative image, and made shooting less enjoyable for me. (most internal cinema camera's screens are horrible, they are for menu pressing not for monitoring).

I dont need a recorder. Why, because it is 700grams more heavy then just the monitor alone. Thats the biggest reason. I can shoot RAW/prores internal, so I have absolutely no need for a external monitor. + I owned a atomos blade, wasnt pleased with the image either.

I have seen some posts that the colors are off. Right now I just saw this picture. Between smallhd 701 and smallhd 702. And the difference between them is huge, even within the same brand. I have seen this difference between a 5" and 7" video assist as well. But if the color is that off, then it really isnt usefull is it. I want a monitor with correct colors/contrast, as the camera LCD isnt good enough.

Hello, Can anybody recommend a 7" SDI monitor. (No recorder, to save weight). I was thinking about a smallhd, but then I heard their colors were not good, then we also have lilliput, which is very cheap but wondering if it is any good at all. The Tv logics seem great but they are not cheap by any means. Atomos and blackmagic only have recorders so they are out. Cheers,

I dont rent out at this moment. As I am afraid how renters will abuse it(and I am afraid insurance will be a pain in the ass evertime something goes wrong). As I have seen rental cameras that look like a piece of #@|{ and also do not work 100% anymore. My own camera's still look like new after 2 years. But I would probably make more money with renting out my gear then I do earn with filmmaking these days though. But I do not need another stress factor in my life atm.

Well, you can focus better, you have better exposure tools, you notice small mistakes better and you have better Codecs like prores. Which will make your life more easier. I use a blackmagic video assist 4K atm (sold my atomos samurai blade for it)

I also owned an A7S II, and I found it even worse then the original A7S. But thats only my personal opinion

I have no experience wiht Olympus, Nikon or Fuji(like the fuji colours though). But the canon colors are miles ahead of the sony colors. Skintones, behaving in mixed light conditions, extreme reds, blues where my A7S would fall apart, my 5DIII triumphs.

Not sure if they will include 10bit though. That will render the FS5 useless. (except maybe the RAW recorder, but its a addon)

Great, A7S II and A7R II used prices will drop massively now. Its basically an A7S II that can also take good photo's, for almost half the price. If I was a A7S II user I would sell it fast to fund a new A7III.

Good I want to buy a used A7R II and hopefully this will drive the prices down.
