  1. Look into aputure ls 1s, aputure 300d and some quasar science crossfade tubes. I also own a miniflo (from kinoflo) set for lighting in cars.
  2. Also might be handy for Car rigs. (weights nothing, takes less room then a gimbal). + its something I can just place in my bag while doing hikes, so might be a great tool for travel as well. I guess I will have to check it out and test it myself at some point. True, but it can be done. I even remember Deakins shooting Jarhead handheld with a Arricam LT
  3. Yeah for DSLR's etc i kinda agree. But when you look at cinema cameras. And you want to do some handheld walking shots, and dont have the time or the right equipment. This might come in handy. Like running around with a Alexa (+-9kg), you would need to have a good vest + arm + steadycam. It weights alot + takes quite some time to set up + you need a experienced operator. So sometimes you go handheld instead to save time and your back. And this might be a handy addon (not sure until I have seen some raging reviews on it). I am not saying you should do this over a glidecam/gimbal, it will never be as good. But for those times that you need to shoot handheld (but I would surely account for the crop, and shoot a bit wider).
  4. Yeah Ill wait on some reviews, but it looks good. It might be a good combo with my ursa mini pro. As I hate gymbal and glidecam work with it now, as I do not have a vest. Maybe I can get away with handheld work with this steadxp and walking really smooth. It might work pretty decent.
  5. So A7S III will also not have 10bit. Sony is becoming the new Canon. Seems my 5DIII(ML) will still remain my backup body for my ump for quite some time. The good news is that I dont have spend cash on body's the next year
  6. I tested this camera on IBC, but wasnt that impressed overal. The only thing that is has going for it, is its low weight. Wasnt that impressed by the C200 either to be honest. Ursa mini pro is still the best low budget cinema camera out there. I was totally blown away with the new sony venice though, but that is a different pricepoint alltogheter.
  7. Grading from first and third shot are off. On the left side there seems to be a building, but you cannot see it in the POV.
  8. I have done my share of free work. And this year I completely stopped with that, and I got 3 times more work then before. And with the money I raised, I can upgrade my toyset and invest in my own passion projects. So in this case I would use these models in my own passion project if I got one lined up, if not I would not bother until I got something going on.
  9. OP is doing videos for a while, its maybe one of his first customers, but its not his first video. 200€ is way too low, if he asks 200€ now. Offcourse the client will hire him. But you will not be able to negotiate for a much higher price for the next video. They come to you because you are cheap, not because you have skills. You cannot live from a 200€ dayrate (when taxes etc pass through it), then you are better off working for a production company. Well 1000€ per day might be too high as well, over here 1000€ per day in Belgium gets you a veteran DOP with Arri amira + light kit + movi + sliders etc.
  10. I own a ursa mini pro, previous C300 owner. (never shot with a c500). If you need to shoot iso 3200-10000 get a canon c300 - c500. Otherwise get the UMP, it has more dynamic range, better codec options, better slow motion options(Dont know about C500), doesnt need an external raw recorder, you can load up LUTS, not sure what lenses you are going to use but the UMP has anamorphic 3K mode, C300 does not (update: I see contax zeiss set, so that does not apply).
  11. The Ursa mini pro is the clear winner over here. If you expose well there is no FPN. Noise of ump seems to be better then a scarlet mx. Last time I shot with a scarlet mx, it had quite some noise. Didn't see that kind of noise on my ump yet. Under 10K the UMP is the best camera out there. I just came back from IBC, and checked out the C200 and the eva1, liked the image from the ump a lot more(couldn't do major tests though).
  12. Yeah I understand, well I already got the pro and a lot of users upgraded as well. The ursa mini 4.6k is a bit older, so the ump will be sold a lot longer, hence there will be a bigger market for it. So no reason for me to switch back, the ND's + IR are really handy. Yeah if you come to Belgium you can test on mine. But I reckon there are some other UMP shooters in Italy that can help you out.
  13. Let me know when you got it working on a ursa mini pro!
  14. How is the 3,5K compared to the 1080 RAW? Is it more detailed. 1080p is enough resolution for me, but It always lacked detail in my experience(besides DR). Not sure if the the 3,5K is a detail improvement over the 1080p. If not, then I would just use the 1080p.
  15. Well I am trying to dim a quasar science crossfade, they are dimmable. But still looking for a suitable dimmer. Thanks,
  16. Hey, Has anybody got good experience or good links to good deals on a led dimmer? I am looking one to dim some led lights. EU Thanks!
  17. Yeah crazy how good the ursa mini pro holds up next to a F65 or a Alexa mini, especially as they are dirt cheap in comparison.
  18. I don't think they are getting made anymore now that there is TERRA 6K, 5K and now even 4K. Which also makes a lot more sense. Only problem is that they are a Chinese company with crappy communication and support.
  19. Yeah Im thinking about getting one of these, this will save me a lot of time setting up shots.
  20. Yeah probably something that you can switch fast in heights and lock down really fast. As boy, one can sure loose a lot of times on a day changing tripod heights. (clicking open the locks of each leg X3 X3)
  21. yeah 650 for 4 days of work including gear. That is a steal. They will not find a cheaper professional. (I have my share of cheap video's in the past, like 5 recording sessions for a band in the studio, which I had to sync each instrument to the video which turned out in a real nightmare so that was a fasttrack to quiting doing video fast ) But I have a fulltime job which pays my bills, and I am doing only interesting video projects on the side. So I rather turn down 10 crappy video's and do 1 decent instead, even if I would make 2X that much.
  22. Best of luck! How much did you end up quoting?
  23. yeah the latest beta 8 is really shining for me. It outperforms Premiere for editing, coloring and rendering. In the past I used to edit still some projects in Premiere, out of ease and speed. But now Im hooked on resolve. (Still need to test the stabilizer though, probably still isn't as good as warp stabilizer). Are there any good stabilizer plugins for resolve that work great? I want to give reelsteady a try, but it is only for AE.
  24. Hey Charlie, I checked your website, good work! I think between 500€ and 800€ is fair for 1 day shooting and 1 day editing depending on the project specs.
