-
i kno rite! beatmaking is SO cool i mean, to ME, if u make beats on your iphone, thats pretty darn cool. so, if u make beats on an iPAD... well, thats kinda next level, huh? and having a drum machine or literally any kind of dedicated hardware for making these noises... wow.... uhm yeah. thats like owning a goddam stradivarius violin. to me. so its all p impressive tbh

that was funny at first, but i had to turn it off after the first min ?

hey yall!!!! sooo i was working on a set last week, just kinda helping my friends, being a white light, and we had this moment laaate at night where i was talking to the actors, pepping them up (theyve got their fkn sad faces on, woe is me, i hate acting, rite? mind u it is 2am), and i was being cooool af as i always am on a set, and i just started saying because... WE (*and the director joined me*) LOVE FILMMAKINGGGGGG ....remember that??!! from some bts of one of quentins more recent films...? he does that with the cast and crew, its... something he does?? anyway, i cant find the clip, can u guys help?? this is real i swear!!! ? sincerely, kaylee

same! good to know about the egpu! i got a low end one, but im totally gonna get another "expensive" one, and use this as a media server/web machine in the future

I got one!! Its kinda great! i love how i can take it places~! its kinda like a laptop... without the screen... or battery lolol so theres obviously a lot of options for I/O, and i want (*need*) to get a healthy amount of external storage for it, asap... i have no idea whats good right now, but i certainly do have a collection of broken hard drives ? what would you guys plug into this lil guy, for the best balance of speed vs storage space? im assuming that ~the~ fastest options are out of my price range, but i havent looked at external SSDs in a few years. i just wanted to see what u all are doin!!! image: teh many plugs

thats what ive read. so does that mean that the st bernard + kitten video above cant be monetized, even though it has 2 million+ views? aw, man! that sucks! well its hopeless then lol
-
all i know is, tyler is making a pretty good living, ~mainly~ based on ads. ive heard he can make as much as $1k a day. ive watched his subscriber count more than double https://www.youtube.com/user/secureteam10 /hey!! oh no, i just thought of something!! are there... rules about how long a video needs to be to work with adsense, or anything of that nature...? like it has to be at least 2 min long or... something? it just occurred to me... edit: double oh no!! PLEASE tell me that you dont need 1,000 subscribers minimum to use adsense?!?!? thats crazy, theres TONS of channels with viral million+ views videos that have less than 1k subscribers?? example

@andrgl wow, thats amazin~! its fascinating to hear some of the details of your high end approach – was that part of your plan in principle, to annihilate the competition's production values? kinda sensing that it was! very impressive, you really did it all, down to coding your website. am i correct in saying that you ~chose~ not to have ads on your videos for the enjoyment of your viewers, focusing on affiliate links instead? cuz obviously if you turned that on, it would make you more money? talk to me like im 4 years old, im new to this i feel like the ultimate content to make for youtube is stuff that ppl will watch 7 years from now, because they just want to see a puppy eating an ice cream cone, or something of that nature. ppl that i know of who are raking in the bucks make videos that ppl will watch even though theyre years old – and then get into the channel, subscribe, etc etc. so thats part of the idea, that if i just keep posting videos, something will happen eventually lol /edit: *light bulb moment* hmmmm, maybe i should just write the clickbait titles first, and THEN make the videos.........
-
i was thinking... its crazy cuz theres obviously a LOT to it, so much to know... even in ways that i take for granted for example, we all know how capitalization itself has been bastardized in youtube titles. BUT... (lol) ...theyre on to something, clearly so a bad title would be: st bernrrd takes bath while a good title would be: ~ADORABLE~ FLUFFY St. BERNARD **PUPPY** gets his ::FIRST:: BUBBLE BATH!!!

strong analysis, thank you @Video Hummus

^^^ this is literally what the heck im talking about. i have modest goals! just trynna make a lil art+filmmaking money, and im gonna be taking pics of the pupper anyway.... brave new world is right. its wild

Heyy guys!!! so, I had an epiphany~! (maybe) it seems to me that if you wanna make money on youtube, you need to, above all else, upload constantly. like, at least weekly, right? some ppl have a new video every frickin day, or more than one~! ive never had the vaguest ambition to do anything like that, im not about filming stuff all the time, u kno? i like to do the opposite, film stuff never ? anyway, i have a new lil st bernard pup, and people LOVE st bernards~! and on top of that my other dog is a beast of a hybrid st bernard/great dane/mastiff, so... instead of JUST taking stills of the lil guy as hes growing up, why not shoot some videos? i live in a beautiful forest, i think theyd be great~! they may be glorified home videos, but who cares~! i mean, I'M on youtube searching for st bernards myself lol. and ill update it all the time with lil fun clips, and weekly weigh ins ? so, i need youtube tips!!! help me yall!!! i need to make some money for my next film and i suck at illustrating childrens books i hate it smh. how do i get hundreds of thousands or millions of views so i can serve up youtubes precious ads to the masses addendum: heres a video woth 7.9 million views but as you can see, that channel only has 14k subscribers... from what ive read you need 10k subscribers just to monetize videos at all, is that correct? ugh that sucks!

lol what a great thread title ? GUYS!!! did you know that there are these things called state film commissions where they give out location permits?? ? i forgot that they existed lolol but little did i know that places where i thought that filming would ~never~ be allowed, may be allowed, with a permit, under the right circumstances~! oh, i forgot to mention, im currently obsessed with caves. i wanna shoot something in a cave i got into the idea of building a fake cave, which is borderline easy in that i already know how to make stuff out of foam/plaster/chicken wire/whatever, but to make the amount of rocks and stuff i would need for my shots would be a TON of work. id be making boulders for a year ? so then i started looking at actual caves, which i figured would just be all blocked off bc... idk why?? like, ppl could hurt themselves? the state i live in has a lot of laws... anyway, come to find out that THIS exists https://ca.reel-scout.com/loc_detail.aspx?parent=loc_results.aspx&id=1059&cid=50&search=cave&rgn=All Regions&rgnid=&cnty=All Counties&cntyid=&city=All Cities / Towns&cityid=&subcat=&style=&lname=&lid=&dist=&zip=&mat=all not to mention THIS (??!!!!) https://ca.reel-scout.com/loc_detail.aspx?parent=loc_results.aspx&id=10120444&cid=50&search=cave&rgn=All Regions&rgnid=&cnty=All Counties&cntyid=&city=All Cities / Towns&cityid=&subcat=&style=&lname=&lid=&dist=&zip=&mat=all i was like... how in the heck could a film crew possibly be allowed in that place ??? so, heres my question: can i actually do this? whats stopping me? besides money my understanding is that they assess fees based on your project, havent found any firm info on that yet ...im guessing that some of you guys have dealt with film commissions, or state parks, or something of that nature...??? lookit this pic tho

@kye totally. ive done that with my favorite shows particularly the x-files for me. also the sopranos – a show like that, thats so well made, i can watch it over and over and learn stuff all the time i credit that practice with a lot of my understanding of filmmaking. it really is this invisible art that no one really knows exists, but when you start to watch films and see the blocking, the sound design, etc etc, thats a total game changer today, i can get something out of watching OLD films that i never wouldve watched in the past, that i absolutely love now~! like, once you can see through the "movie magic", black and white films become a lot more contemporary, a lot less alien. for me at least

iPad OS - making the iPad Pro a viable editing option?
kaylee replied to Simon Young's topic in Cameras
amazin! ive tried mirroring apps that havent worked well, but then again i want the latency to be next to zero super interested to see how well sidecar works~! tbh, even if gen 1 sucks, apple will figure it out in the future. im so glad to see "iPad OS", that means theyre finally all in on the ipad being more than a giant iphone that doesnt make phone calls -
